Re: Ben Liddle leaves
Maybe he feels he needs to be playing week in week out in order to improve as a player. Will be interesting to see where he ends up as to be honest he didn't look good enough for this level most of the time.

Re: Once the dust settles...
I agree that the EFL is fundamentally a bit of a dream, and spending money upgarding BM to even just NL standard would have some benefit to match day experience. But wouldn't we still be incredibly restricted in our revenue generation on non match-days? I personally would be very loathe to put furt...

Re: Once the dust settles...
I don't believe that is the case. My understanding is that DRFC don't want development that would require their clubhouse to be replaced. Which essentially means BM could be developed sufficiently to mean NL standards but not to EFL. *If* we could move the pipe then that gives the full footprint of...

Re: Once the dust settles...
because the Rugby Club don’t want any further development of BM. This is not true - beyond hear say from fans when has 'no further development' been said. Development to EFL standards may have been mentioned. I believe that it was DJ himself who said that the Rugby Club were against any further dev...

Re: Once the dust settles...
Suppose we could chop the Tin Shed into squares & flog it off to raise funds for improvements. Nostalgia does have a value & I was in there 1960's & 70's too. It does, but lets not let it get in the way of progress. The whole argument is academic anyway, because the Rugby Club don’t want any furthe...

Re: Once the dust settles...
For those talking about stadium requirements: For National League North you need to have 500 seats and show the ability of how you can upgrade your ground to 4000 capacity. For National League there are no other requirements but to show you can upgrade your ground to 5000 capacity. I would love to ...

Re: Once the dust settles...
See this is another issue because it’s never been confirmed and some of the argument for a new ground is that the rugby club won’t permit *any* expansion. Yep, I would take that "won't permit any expansion" claim with a pinch of salt, along with the "primacy of tenure" claim for The Arena. The boar...

It's only 20% in the FA Cup. Minimum is 10% in the EFL, don't know about the NLN. I guess as most ground aren't segregated its not usually an issue.CrazyDarlo wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 3:24 pmI thought away teams at this level were entitled to 20% of the capacity?

Re: David Hodgson Interview
To call this an interview is a stretch, it’s more Hodgie stringing together a series of stories that illustrate that the world of football is full of dubious characters and dubious goings on, including (it seems) himself. I like Hodgie, he did well for us, and this is quite interesting though. I ha...

Let’s not forget Steve’s Fantastic Four. I’m on about Main, Barrow, Cornish and Young. They’ve all made a difference, but the thing is, between them they’ve made ‘the difference'. So thanks Steve for bringing them in, and thanks to the players involved for agreeing to come.  And thanks...

Re: Leamington new ground
Without a decent ground or a vision to secure one I’m not entirely sure where we are going as a club. Even at this level it arguably has the worst away end in the league. I actually stood at the open end for the first time yesterday and it’s absolutely grim. For me this is priority 1 after this sea...

Re: Leamington new ground
Am I right in thinking that the Leamington ground will be all seater (unclear from the plans)? I think we would need to preserve terrracing in any future stadium (and possibly half time migration), i would imagine that would cut the cost too. One big stand, and 3 tin sheds would be sufficient for o...

Re: Darlington V Chorley
Losing at home to Chorley is not going to decide our season, but the next few games will. We probably need 7 points. I thought it was a very AA type performance today rather than a Gowling one. We made no headway on the left at all, and Griffiths was our only outlet on the right, but his delivery wa...

Cost of £13.8m, funded through Government investment zone (I don't know how this works) to Warwick District Council, Leamington then buy the ground for 450K and then give back to WDC.

Re: Rushall v Darlington
I think three wins will be enough to finish above Farsley or Rushall, but can we win three? For the first time in weeks I'm thinking we are more likely to go down than stay up. I doubt we'll catch any of those team 4 points ahead, we only have 5 games left and lots of teams in there still have to pl...

There was a suggestion floated on here a few years ago that Northumbrian water would allow building on top of the pipe as long as access hatches were installed. Don't know if that is the case.

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?
Def think some banked standing at the way end would really help possibly something we can take with us if we move. Have to get the RC onside though and that’s the hard job but people views do change. The rugby clubs only issue is they don't want their clubhouse knocked down - and based on plans tha...

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?
Focus for now is to stay up and if we do can focus on IMO helpful questions raised by CC. As fan owned the only way we can move on is people through the gate, a potential cup run and more difficult more commercial revenue and sponsorship. Asking more BTB is more problematic as I think we have reach...

Are the Women’s Team and the Academy one and the same? They are the same line in the accounts. I do think people misinterpret the intent of the Academy. It would actually surprise me if it ever produces, or even intends to produce, players for the first team. Academies outside of the professional c...

How do the women's team and academy make a profit, are they funded through some central funding source? Obviously can't be through gate receipts.

Re: Points deduction
The Bury 2 match ban was for discriminatory language. My understanding is that it was for about 8 separate charges in the past 2 seasons. These have ranged from racism, pitch invasions, general violent disorder and also pyros. Yes, the decision to close the ground was made becaue Bury had seven rec...

You can pause DFR until it is in sync with NLTV. Took me a while to find it on my phone - an Android. With the mixlr app running you go back to the front screen where you normally login to the phone with your PIN and you will see Mixlr with a pause button on it. You still have to mess about a bit t...

Re: National League TV.
I’ve watched a few this season, our home matches always have commentary but the away matches are hit and miss. To be honest with their accents having no commentary on Tuesday might not be a bad thing as I don’t believe there are any subtitles. Quality isn’t too bad considering, one of the matches w...

Bury are behind closed doors at the moment which was in part due to pyrotechnics. The difference they are under County FA discipline - I haven't seen Wembley ever issue that out. I don't think they can it would set a precedent which they would have to apply from top to bottom. I thought Bury was du...

In the echo it’s saying we could be playing behind closed doors after the pyrotechnics incidents at Darlo&Spenny, Got to find these feral little scroats and get them banned for life, they have no idea of the harm they are doing to the club and probably don’t care, so if anyone knows the culprits le...

Re: Spennymoor V Darlington
It was a bit of a surprise to see left-back Reece Staunton come on as a second half sub for Spenny given that he wasn't listed as a sub in their published team sheet before the game. Dan Myers had been getting absolutely roasted down that flank in the first half and they obviously had to stem the f...
