Re: Darlo v York

That will help towards that giant, towering, solid, colossus, bullet heading 6 ft 5 inch seasoned, ex football league striker, guaranteed 20 goals (with the cup run money of course).

Re: Darlo v York

When I met you with Hicker many years ago I thought you were older! The years play tricks but the 60's footie was exciting.

Well, technically Liverpool, Manchester and Warrington were in Lancashire! Southport is actually by the sea, though.

Re: Extended ban

I wasn't there and presume you weren't either Shildonlad. Pretty sure this decision wasn't taken lightly. If I was subject to a ban from something I loved then I'd do everything possible to keep a low profile and not bring attention to myself. Sad to see really as I've always seen him as boisterous ...

It's where I thought it was, an Urmston address and not that old Flixton ground.

Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup

Fair enough. I put Trafford FC in a search and the address was Urmston but now I've looked again and see what you mean. Is that the same Flixton ground Dalodah is talking about then? I don't want to do a Darlo Pete!

Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup

No, that was Flixton, think it was Northwich 1874? Thommo hid in the dugout when the hail came. Horrible wasn't it? Another time we took our bikes in. Pretty sure Trafford play in Urmston, lots of pubs nearby.

Re: Gloucester V Darlington

In a struggling team (for a number of reasons especially the injuries) it's pretty impressive to score a goal every two games. I'm really not sure what some people were expecting this season even before all the injury/international call ups issues. I'm pretty ambivalent this season but looking forwa...

Well after Chester being called Welsh and Southport getting abuse for being "Scousers" nothing's a geographical surprise. Not to mention the Fylde seaside, of course.

Back in the day we used to have "utility players". Paul Madeley of Leeds United played everywhere except keeper! He wore every shirt 2-11. It's not unusual for players to able to fill different roles. Gary Brown was okay in goal.

Why do you keep using your and you about the club? If you are truly a fan you'd be saying us, we and our. We would consider outside investment and we already have many local businesses investing in the club with signs around the ground, shirt/short sponsors.

What about the young right back used in friendlies? Holliday? I've no knowledge of him but people were speaking highly of him. I think we've been dealt a poor hand with the injuries and some people need to calm down a bit. We are what we are and I for one am very proud of that.

Geographically, I'm pretty sure Old Trafford isn't in Salford. I suppose they have the right to buy into any club and chose Salford but 7 of them are involved, not just the Neville brothers.

Re: Small clubs in the north west

So many enjoyable trips to Bury with Darlington. I was at the play off game they lost v Shrewsbury (lots of them hiding in the Bury section) and Clem from sky sports asked me why I wasn't celebrating-I'm a Darlington fan, I said. Just like us their fans are so commited to the club and hopefully when...
