Re: TW tactics......again!

I love on here how people miss Browny and Gillies BUT how many times was it said last season they weren't good enough, God I despair sometimes... We had 6 players out today but that were always gonna happen I'm afraid it's where we are we can't just go out and get players.. Isn't he working within ...

Re: TW tactics......again!

No I haven't. However, you would think that there would be a pecking order to his selection of youth players rather than just plucking anyone to place on the bench. Glover for example has come on a few times and I think started a couple of matches last season, he has been held in high regard by TW w...

Re: Darlington V Alfreton Match Thread

If we have most of our missing players back next week, Galbraith,Wheatley, and O'Hanlon and we fail to beat Telford, then questions will need answering.Personally we are short of strong characters and leaders in our side, this league is as tough as it has ever been and IMO the bulk of the players To...

Re: TW tactics......again!

He is tactically naive and inept, and I'm getting bored of saying this after every match. We are going to go nowhere other than backwards with TW. My question to point 4 is why not give them 10-15 mins, we could have a wonder kid waiting for an opportunity, if you don't play them then why name them...

On a side note, I know it's only 7 games in but Chorley are 15pts clear of us at the top and 6pts ahead of 2nd. At the moment positively romping away and shows how far away we are in relative terms!

Result today, although always good to comeback from 2-0, just papers over the cracks. Nothing has changed my opinion the jury is still out on TW's capabilities.

Re: Darlington V Altrincham Match thread

Could never understand why we released Portas, he should have been offered at least a short term contract to prove his fitness ,would be far better than our 3 midfielder yesterday.Badly need more leaders in the team, never thought we would be missing the likes of Browney and Turnbull after only 6 g...

Re: Darlington V Altrincham Match thread

I think for Ashton we need to do what we did post-Leamington last season - go 4-5-1 (or 4-2-3-1). That worked really well, there was a good transition between defence and attack, nobody really spoke about us being over-run and our form after Leamington was 7-4-3 IIRC. Something along the lines of -...

Re: Darlington V Altrincham Match thread

I mentioned this before on another thread or match thread but Wright is tactically inept and this was found out at Corby and Nuneaton, we were warned as well. He talks a good game and is seemingly a genuine bloke but for all of this if the optimism can't be transferred to the pitch then we are going...

Re: TW tactics

A little overboard but central concerns are correct. I have mentioned this on another thread. I'm not trying to be negative but we are alarmingly conceding goals (2 per match at the moment) - it's not a good statistic at the moment and relies on scoring a bag full just to get us in a position to win.

Re: Kidderminster V Darlington

Were we not warned by Nuneaton fans that Wright's tactics were too open and too often exploited? We have shipped 12 goals in 5, that isn't going to get us anywhere, the only saving grace is our goalscoring threat so far which has been improved. Tactically naive springs to mind with Wright at times! ...

Re: Josh Heaton looks like he is on his way

Has he made a competitive appearance yet? I know the transfer fee will have done us good and he's only 21/22 and there may be a reluctance to throw him into things but must be frustrating bench warming each week? Not our problem now and maybe won't totally be missed but I hope his career doesn't sta...

Only 3 games in but the league has a topsy-tervy look to it at the moment. The likes of York, Southport, Brackley, Kidderminster all bottom half and Leamington, Ashton, Hereford up near the top. Obviously this will change a fair bit but just shows how competitive this league can be! By the end of Se...

Defeat today has also knocked the feel good factor that had been building during pre-season. I hope TW achieves but by the end of August and judging from today's performance we/he could well be under pressure. If the worst was to happen we could be in even more of a predicament than we were when MG ...

Re: FA Cup Prizemoney

I think we'd need some pretty favorable draws to get through to the first round proper of the FA Cup. Even when we've played lesser ranked teams, we still seem to struggle, like South Shields last season. It's only 2 rounds from where we come in, it's more than achievable. To get to the 3rd round y...

Hope your right about quality over quantity, but at moment not sure at all. From what I have seen so far, I think all the new guys have talent but most are not as good as essentially, who they have replaced, which does worry me. Ie. Pears, Heaton, Turnbull, gillies. Not sure Maddison, Burn, Hughes,...

Must be one of the smallest squad photos we have had for a while? Give or take a couple of absentees, it shows how far we have cut back for, hopefully, quality over quantity.

Bars and restaurants? The range of which seems to get better each time i return anyway.
