Re: Kidderminster V Darlington

Were we not warned by Nuneaton fans that Wright's tactics were too open and too often exploited? We have shipped 12 goals in 5, that isn't going to get us anywhere, the only saving grace is our goalscoring threat so far which has been improved. Tactically naive springs to mind with Wright at times! ...

Re: Josh Heaton looks like he is on his way

Has he made a competitive appearance yet? I know the transfer fee will have done us good and he's only 21/22 and there may be a reluctance to throw him into things but must be frustrating bench warming each week? Not our problem now and maybe won't totally be missed but I hope his career doesn't sta...

Only 3 games in but the league has a topsy-tervy look to it at the moment. The likes of York, Southport, Brackley, Kidderminster all bottom half and Leamington, Ashton, Hereford up near the top. Obviously this will change a fair bit but just shows how competitive this league can be! By the end of Se...

Re: Darlington FC V Curzon Ashton Match Thread

Defeat today has also knocked the feel good factor that had been building during pre-season. I hope TW achieves but by the end of August and judging from today's performance we/he could well be under pressure. If the worst was to happen we could be in even more of a predicament than we were when MG ...

Re: FA Cup Prizemoney

I think we'd need some pretty favorable draws to get through to the first round proper of the FA Cup. Even when we've played lesser ranked teams, we still seem to struggle, like South Shields last season. It's only 2 rounds from where we come in, it's more than achievable. To get to the 3rd round y...

Re: Official team photo

Hope your right about quality over quantity, but at moment not sure at all. From what I have seen so far, I think all the new guys have talent but most are not as good as essentially, who they have replaced, which does worry me. Ie. Pears, Heaton, Turnbull, gillies. Not sure Maddison, Burn, Hughes,...

Must be one of the smallest squad photos we have had for a while? Give or take a couple of absentees, it shows how far we have cut back for, hopefully, quality over quantity.

Unusual that August Bank Holiday and Easter Monday games are different. Bars and restaurants? The range of which seems to get better each time i return anyway. The problem with places like this closing is that they can't easily be repurposed for other businesses, so they tend to sit empty. See BHS. It's such a big unit, no small business would want it. Think it's about time the MG and York City obsession is nipped in the bud. MG did help us to where we are now, obviously aided somewhat by budget and maybe it hid some of the tactical inadequacies he has. He is now at York City and it hasn't exactly been plain sailing, he failed to get them promoted...

Re: I've never known a team make such heavy weather of it

Although I am not advocating it, going back to 2 points for a win would give a fairer reflection of a teams overall performance. Blyth who have lost half their games this season would be down in 13th place. I don't see how that's a fairer reflection. It's simply more a reflection of how they end up...

Re: I've never known a team make such heavy weather of it

It shows how easy or hard it is to get into a play off place especially with the new format - which initially looks to have made the regular league season more competitive. Let's hope we are in a position on and off the field to mount an assault on the top 7 next season! I would hope to see us back ...

Depends on your definitions of freefall v bad run - First 4 games with 10 points against next 11 games with 8 points. No evidence that Gray was ever going to rescue that. I disagree with that. Gray had turned around bad runs before (usually by buying new players, but that's a separate argument). Ei...

Well done Tommy and Alan - safety achieved! I had my doubts that they'd be able to turn our midseason slump around but a decent run from February has alleviated this. Now is the real test, a full preseason and a chance to put a proper stamp on the playing squad, hopefully a continuation of the posit...

1100/1200 crowds used to be the norm years ago for us when we were a lower to mid table division 4 side. Quite why it’s expected that a lower to mid table conference north side should get more is beyond me. If we were pushing for promotion then that would be different. However we have had a season ...

Listening to Tommys pre match interview saying the lads have not got much to play for, a couple of defeats in a row and we are right back in it - a win today gets us over the magic 50 points and then we should be safe. We are already safe. Tamworth and Alfreton have played 2 matches more than us an...

Re: Couple of games tonight

Wonder if Ginge has a change of prediction as to who is going down, I think after tonight and recent matches Telford might just be clawing their way out. I'd be considering one of Tamworth or Alfreton joining North Ferriby and Gainsborough through the trap door.
