Re: Boston V Darlington
I think the majority accept that TW has not got the results the club or ourselves expected over the duration of the season and that his days should be numbered. However, there are a few who are prepared to give him backing considering the financial constraints the club operate in and this is despite...

Re: Spenny Bottle
Obviously don't want it, extra costs involved in being promoted possibly?
Wouldn't be the first club I know of to do this and use to happen a lot further down until the introduction of enforced promotion.

Re: Next season
The manager is operating within budget and as such keeps us in this league, not a disaster as I see it ,could others have kept us up ,I don't know but as we are all in this position together let's give the board the right to do whatever they think is best for our football club for the future season...

Re: Darlington V FC United
I'm not sure myself. Even if it was 'just' 270k then it's still a decent chunk. MG reckoned you needed a budget of 400k to compete with some of the bankrollers. Here's the direct quote from the Netcafé "Our initial annual playing budget was set at £330k for the season and that was based against pro...

Re: Darlington V FC United
You don't have to be the most nuanced person in the world to see which way the wind is blowing with regard to TW's future, you only have to look at his demeanour in his interviews. What is clear is that he believes that people have over-reacted in the slump towards the relegation places. He says in...

Red and black hoops is a pretty boring choice especially when we already play in black and white hoops.

Re: Away kit vote
Both reds are as boring looking as each other but went for the striped one out of the two. Would have been better to replace red with orange as we have had red a lot in recent seasons. Therefore I hope that the purple wins the overall vote, something strikingly different and not mundane.

Purple for me in this vote. Not a fan of the blue option and I am hoping that the others aren't red or yellow like previous...don't get me started greens either....!!!

Re: Nuneaton....
Shouldn't be going over the top about a 2-1 over the bottom of the table side and we should have been nowhere near scrambling around just above the bottom 3 at this point in the season. However, I will happily take the win as a huge step towards preserving our National League North status for anoth...

I don't mind the banter and rivalry between the two clubs. At the moment they are in a better position than us and let them enjoy it while it lasts, we have far greater concerns in just staying in touch in this division!

Re: Tommy Wright
To be fair, unless things got so hideously toxic that it was unbearable, I don't see Wright leaving before the end of the season. And given only eight days ago we performed really well and should have beaten the league leaders, I can't say we're at that point. Of course none of us know what's actua...

Re: Early Bird Season Tickets
I think it's a bit of both. The early bird incentive gives probably just enough cover for the remainder of the season, with any other money made on season tickets used to get over the summer and into the preseason games, plus new merchandise sales etc. I think what is most prevalent at this time of ...

Re: Do The Wright Thing
I can't see us changing Wright at this stage if we stay up (which should be likely), I just don't see him learning from what most seem to be able to see. Not if Ashton Utd pull off potential results like currently, if they beat Chorley we'll only be 6pts ahead. No doubt we'll get humped by Chorley ...

He has been mediocre at best for the 18 months he has been in charge. Yes he inherited an expensive squad who may well have reached its limitations looking at last season. However, when rebuilding the squad and applying tactics he doesn't fill me with much confidence in maintaining our club at this ...

That time of the year... choose the home kit.
Get your votes in for next season's home shirt. Not the greatest selection in my opinion but option 3 is probably the best on offer.

Big win. It gives us some more daylight between where we are and the bottom 3, also leaves us with the outside chance of the playoffs...if we can earn more of these sorts of wins!

Another of the players to have left the club has said on Facebook that the message the players got was that the club doesn't want to get promoted, presumably because they just can't afford it. He then deleted the post. I can imagine there would have to be a stack of work at that ground and the pros...

Calmer waters.....we are still in a relegation battle for goodness sake. Teams below us win their game in hand and the table looks pretty worrying to me still. Playing well in patches for sure but absolutely no cutting edge since Nelson left. TW for me still not showing he can use the loans that we...

What I can’t understand is that there are a handful of fans who proclaim to be disgusted with Chandler yet stand there swearing and shouting abuse in front of their own children at anyone they feel fit to do so. It’s time the club just got rid of these idiots. You'll always have it though, industri...

Re: Darlington V Spennymoor
Well, in that report in the echo we had another striker who we were waiting on international clearance for... probably could've used whoever it is today. Sounds a gutting loss, but given where we were six weeks ago, i'm no longer fearing the worst for this season. Depends on the players TW can conv...

Re: Alfreton away
Seems like a match where the loanees we've had recently would have thrived. However, just lacking that extra quality has probably cost us 2pts. TW has to work to bring in some players of similar quality if we want to see out the season on or more positive footing rather than be dragged into a scrap ...

I'm of the opinion that we are fine with the fan-owned funded route and we should refrain from the temptation to think further success can only be achieved by a 'rich' benefactor. Those clubs can enjoy their success at the moment but it's all short-term in relative terms, ours is the longer-term vie...
