Re: Resignation...

I have waited until some of the dust has settled before making any comment on Friday night's disappointing result. The easy response, and the one I certainly felt coming away from the game was the despair of feeling that what was served up on the night was the best we could hope for. We didn't feel...

Re: Simian stranglers

Wonder if they are contemplating changing managers? Lost again against Dover who were bottom of the league. Normally, it'd be a bit of a laugh seeing them struggle but with our issues its not quite time for gloating.

....to the fact that myself and a few others have been right all along and TW is way out of his depth. Seems like a few more are of this opinion now after tonight's debacle.

Re: Darlington v Hereford

My recent tweet about 'daft to go for the play-offs' was really about protecting oneself from disappointment. My personal view is that the team is better than it's position but not quite promotion material. I accept the point about what do you say to the players to inspire them if you don't aim hig...

Re: This Time Last Year

Given the disappointments of the current season, I was wondering how it compared to last season at this point. At 17 games, as we are at present, we had 5 wins, 6 draws and 6 defeats, so 21 points from a possible 51. We had scored 20 goals and shipped 22. Goal difference - 2. So one point different...

Re: Darlington v Hereford

I thought Hereford would be a force this season. As is, we need to be aiming for all three points if we have ambitions of pushing up the table. I wish Hereford well though. A proper club. In my opinion, suffering from similar issues in terms of geographical location and the team's they are competin...

Re: ‘Big interview’

Read that article and don’t buy a word of it. After having had a few of his little posse on here recently attempting to sling mud at the manager which didn’t work, it appears that the next plan of action is to try the ‘I’m not such a bad guy really’ routine. If the rumour mill is to be believed he ...

Re: Darlington V Guiseley

The fact we have such a thin squad basically says to me that we have underestimated what we can afford. If this is a competitive budget for a shot at the top 7 then I think we have fallen well short, a competitive budget to stay in the league then probably about right (barring any more firesales/inj...

Re: Styche gone this week

Yet again the question has to be asked, why are we in a position where we have to lose players because finances are tight? Surely we need to learn to budget far more conservatively instead of adding risk? If it means a shoestring budget then it has to be that rather than counting on 1400, why not a ...

And we are 4th bottom for a reason.. And it does not give us the God dam right to beat them because we are Darlington Fc and a bigger club mentally we should be beating these Shite bottom teams, You have to work harder and want it more , it doesn't matter what happens on the training pitch it's how...

I'd hope we have up to 400 make the trip over for this vital game. Why a vital game?? Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk Because they're bottom and we're fourth bottom. To be fair it's not gonna define any of our seasons as we are only in October maybe if we are both still where we are (which is ...

Re: Management

The bottom line is if the club is in serious danger of spiralling into a full-on relegation battle then the club/board should act in it's best interests. It is on record that the expectations this season are much higher than where we are now and we are not looking likely of achieving even the bare m...

TW is running out of time there is no question and I'd say anything less than a win next week and it's curtains, win and he has bought himself another week or two - hoping it is the latter. However, my question to those wanting to give him more time is this, would you be happy if the club ...

Re: Darlington v Stockport

There was nothing wrong with TW doing a complete overhaul of the squad. However, when you release players, the incoming players have to be at least to the minimum standard of those outgoing players and obviously what you really want is for them to be better players combined in a system that works an...

Re: Darlington v Stockport

I think the lack of creativity from the midfield is our main problem. Therefore the defence is trying to bypass them with longer balls up front. Yep. That gives us 2 or 3 seconds respite and then the ball comes straight back at us. Football is a pretty simple game and yes midfield is where matches ...

To be fair to Harry, what is our CEO's footballing credentials? You seem to take his pronunciation as gospel. What do you mean by footballing credentials? His job is to run us on a day-to-day basis. I wish it wasn't so but TW just continues to confirm my opinion, maybe others are starting to see this now? Recruitment, team selection, tactics, I'm sorry but he never has had them and isn't going to cut it at this level at least! Although any team can lose a cup match, i believe we now have a gene...

Home tie is decent and I think Wright will appreciate the benefit of the Cup more than Gray, so 50/50 chance really.
Doubt that Stockport will be looking forward to South Shields away.

We've had Mossley before in the cup, think we won 6-2 there in Cooper's first season? Also played them in league fixtures on our way through the Evo-stick leagues.

Yep I didn't have much confidence when he was first appointed and yes he did strike lucky at Leamington starting a run which earnt him the opportunity to have the summer to revamp the squad.
