Re: Ainge

Not sure if it against FA rules, but especially as a striker he should get paid by the number of goals he scores. Well at least a bonus for every goal he scores. If memory serves me right, I think the team win bonuses were outlawed by FA some time ago. Isn't there some saying about boxers / fighters...

[quote="The Golden Hairclip"]Got to agree. He’s an Evo-Stik striker at best BUT he’s not far off football league standard as a centre back. If he’s happy to play centre back then he’ll be a huge asset for the club. If his heart is set on playing up front then he’ll be a liability. My MOTM yesterday ...

Re: Jake Turner - New Signing

OK, for his first game he did really well and commanded his area giving confidence to a makeshift defence. Pulled off a couple of top drawer saves as well, Maddison has got to do a lot to get his place back as 1st choice.

Re: Darlington V Chorley

Hard to bear them equalizing after a very good first half. Think a lot of people forget that Chorley were #1, but second half we did run out of steam so could not press as well as we did in first half. Can appreciate Thommo being crocked and Kneeshaw not yet able to last 90mns, but we do need a prop...

Re: An argument against youth teams

Agree with most of that but slightly worried it could go a bit Royston Vasey - local shop for local lads. On the other hand, this season proved that having more than 50% of the 1st team travelling over 100 miles to get to training & home games, has not worked for part-time players. Obviously we cann...

Did he not extend his contract last year ahead of the Vardy Academy event with him, Wheatley & Heaton? Certainly been our best player in recent weeks, despite having to play in a constantly changing defensive formation. He always gives of his best effort.

Re: NLN Season 2019/20

What about a total Poolie collapse so that they get relegated? Even if they never picked up another point, I can't see enough teams below them picking up the necessary points to take them down. It would make for a lot of interest in the North East in that division though. Imagine, Blyth, South Shie...

Another player from the Midlands ? It does not work with the travelling up to training, that's if they bother to come up. Not that our strike force is troubling the keeper. We could put a dustbin there and they would not score ;) I agree that we should be looking for players from the North East who...

What do you mean by bring back Vaulks? He's on dual registration and available for selection. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk I'd have him back in a flash, but he's more a centre half, rather than a left back. Totally agree, but at least he is a defender with a bit of height and beef so could h...

Ben has not been at his best for a while, leaving too much space when he is supposed to be marking. Travelling must have taken its toll, so just hope the lad gets what his family needs at...

Mike Amos's idea of a fans vote and not being at BM for much longer is right up there with David Cameron's Brexit referendum. The only way you can get a 'perfect view' is from a drone over the pitch! I'm not after a 'perfect' view, I'm after a decent view Part of the match experience is getting into a spot which gives you a satisfactory vantage point. Christ that's depressing. Re: National League Stadia

In my opinion BM is an awful place to watch football - large run off areas coupled with no height, so that the only way to get a decent view is to go into hospitality. There are large open spaces and it's hard to get a decent atmosphere. It's little wonder we didn't have a return to Darlington boun...

Glad to see Vaulks getting a mention & would prefer to see him in the squad. He gives us a bit more flexibility as Ainge could go back up front as a target. The last few moments of the match video summed the ref up when Saunders was pulled to the floor by the defender and he saw nothing wrong... how many times did that happen? Countless. What you may not have seen was the lino flagging the foul, ref not even looking, then when he realises he was wrong,...

Re: Darlington V Southport match thread

Ref never gave it as a foul, but there again he did not show any understanding of the rulebook, just abandoning the 1st half after the injury. Lots of other bizarre decisions, no support from his assistants either. Very poor & ruined the game. To be fair, abandoning the first half was the right dec...
