Re: The silken maccalsfield

There is something radically wrong with football and the way financial regulations are being enforced. Surely the FA need to get off their F** A****, get some proper auditors in to check their books and sort out the owners. Fans are being conned, abused and fleeced of their heritage. Premier League ...

Re: New Manager Interviews this week

In line with tradition at this great footballing institution, the official news of the appointment will then be conveyed on paper, written on the reverse of the original facsimile sheet containing the Golden Share. This framed document will be carried out of the clubhouse by Paul Connor and Michael...

Re: Evostik playoffs

Could South Shields buy Gateshead for £1 as their owner stated he would put it up for sale (plus someone refunding his £200k bond with FA). What is to stop them buying the GFC name and rebadging but in National League, thus leapfrogging the NLN? FA really have to get a grip on club finances, not jus...

Very quick and gifted winger who regularly whipped in great crosses, as previously stated often squandered by Jimmy Seal. Could have gone on to better things.

Re: Football league original members

Surprised nobody has referred to the FA cup game when Wanderers came to Feethams & over 21k were rammed in (no Health & Safety in those days - so i watched it sat on the grass in front of West stand!). As usual with Cup games, Quakers lost, but not before giving Lofthouse & Co a torrid time.

Would like one more local team in our league - namely Hartlepool  What will happen to Gateshead next season? Hope they keep going, otherwise if they went out the league, this would leave one space which would ripple down the pyramid. Having gone through the pain of administration and restarting...

Re: Who do we fancy then?

I believe that you can get to Wolsingham from Darlo by going via Shildon. He could pop into his academy on the way back home and fill up at that cheap Jet petrol station whilst stocking up on Londis lager. We could also do training on his indoor pitches and then take the players on team bonding ses...

Apart from the well worked Nico goal, best bit was the players shaking hands with fans at the Tin Shed end. TW got a respectful send off as did Harvey Saunders. Thanks for your efforts & best wishes for their futures.

I know that Arsenal serve free beer & wine, variety of free sandwiches (including prawn) and a free proramme to season ticket holders all for around £4000. Catch is, the waiting list (£50 to go on list). Am sure we could improve the catering by raising prices to this level. Coincidentally Arsenal ha...

Re: Wright has left the building

Seems to have been a very civilised parting and would hope the fans show a similar sentiment today. The team could help by putting in a shift with some decent football, for example Maddison saving a penalty to keep a clean sheet, Ainge to score from a set piece (not an own goal), Henshall to make a ...

Think we may just get over 1000 as Leamington won't bring many and weather will put off the faint hearted. Down to the hard core, diehard fans who would love to see the lads finish with some flowing football and plenty of goals (so long as we keep a clean sheet!) ;)

Telford game for me, followed by York. Grading difficult and may go for an overall B-, not so much for the football but for the progress made off the field, with the academy, finances starting to get in order, commercially, with full time employee and the board strengthened. With the club looking l...

If we appointed Scott Oliver has manager we could have that brilliant Elvis Costello hit has our signature tune. Conversely, if we retain T.W. under protest we could have the brilliantly named Supertramp song "Bloody Well Wright" as our signature tune. (B side of Dreamer!) Or that 60s classic "Day ...

Seem like changes for the better. Hope someone makes sure the officials in NLN are properly instructed in the application of these changes as well as being reminded of what the actual rules are. Some of them appeared totally unfamiliar with the rulebook and how they should apply them this season

Re: Best opponents faced this season

Biggest opponents have been in the main the match officials. Some really poor referees and assistants officiated this season at BM. Brackley played really well but generally, most of the teams were only middling and any team on their day could beat any other in the league (including us!). Any team w...

Yes, we need consistency but currently there is no method or semblance of attacking play which is what we need to get people to come & watch us. Only 1311 to see us play BPA who could be promoted, on a sunny bank holiday really says it all for this season. MOTM was a loanee (Turner, GK who had kept ...

I reckon we may see Heaton back in the summer, be good if that happens. Well, good for our defence, but not for his career. Hopefully, it has been a bit of a false start for him and someone can get it back on track for him. If it is DFC, then all the better for us, but think this is a very slim cha...
