Re: The Season is Slipping Away Fast....

Becuase we are starting to score goals, and we have conceded only 9 goals at home, (which is pretty good), and we are coming into some form at home, I'm starting to feel slighty confident about home games. So I think we will win too. But it'll be another nervous night no doubt.

Re: The Season is Slipping Away Fast....

The defence is hardly the worst in the division by far. Morecambe, Grimsby, and Cheltenham have only conceded one less than us. It's upfront where we are lagging behind other teams. But that's starting to turn now and we actually are scoring goals. It's not too late yet. But that gap needs to start ...

Re: Thierry Henry - cheating ba**ered

Simple solution to all of this. Every team has unlimited TV challenges. Referred to the 4th official. Get it wrong and it is an automatic penalty. Teams would soon stop cheating and know when to challenge a genuine mistake. Hardly a simple solution at all. If a team genuinely feels a decision goes ...

Re: 7 Shown The Door!

I honestly don't think I could tell you which one was which between Bower and Arnison, I just know they're both crap. Bower hasnt played his natural position for us yet, as far as I'm aware. He's a CB, and at this moment in time is probably a better bet at CB than Plummer, who despite looking reaso...

Well we have no reserve team so I do think these are good for the club, as it gives the fringe players a chance to play 90 mins football.

Currie was before my time, so it has to be Gabbiadini for me. Also, Liddle and Collett are not bad free signings. Both gave a good few years of quality service to the club.

Re: Staunton looks to off load players

I thought Plummer looked quite decent at the start of the season. Havn't seen much of him recently though. The other 3 are all understandable. Just not up to the standards we need.

OK, so why do we not sign these so called diamonds. Well there is geographical location, then wages, add we are bottom of the league. Players not performing to expectation like Gary Smith will be worried by Stauntons latest venture into the market. What a capture Hogg is! Everyone looks to Davies a...

I thought Anelka was actually touched tbh. He did go down far too easily though. Tough decision to be made there.

I thought he was decent but he was never going to get in ahead of a fit Austin, and Isuppose with the budget cuts he was surplus, seing as Purdie could do a good job there too.

Re: windass on bbc's football league show

Did I imagine it or did Windass say he fancied Bristol Rovers to go up because they had beaten Darlo comfortably 2-0 while he was with us??? I was only half watching it so I could be talking bollocks. I noticed something like that. I thought I must have miss heard as I'm sure he was talking about a...

Re: Chairman thanks fans

Very encouraging words from the chairman, I wonder if he'll give Staunton any money to spend in January? More performances like Saturday's and we won't need too. A few more performances where we are penned in our own half for the vast majority of the second 45 mins? We were fortunate to win on Satu...

Re: Gary Smith

I can't imagine him playing MF....he is technically good but he doesn't have that much strength yet. Obviously as he gets older he'll get stronger. Hopefully we'll be able to see how he develops as a footballer over the next few years, as he has something about him.

Gary Smith

After a less than impressive start, Smith has started to look quite good in midfield. In the last 2 home games he has been impressed me, and hopefully he can keep it up. He got a bit of stick on here in the first few months, but hopefully he has turned the corner, and he could end up being an import...

Every game is really important to us. We can't afford to lose too many more games otherwise we will just stay adrift at the bottom. I don't know if I'm going to last the whole season....yesterday was very nerve racking!!

Re: Kevin Gall

Gall is awesome. Tons of energy, great finishing BUT he needs support in the form of other players who can keep up with him - often finds himself cut off in open play because of this. He will chase lost causes and create half chances but above everything he will keep the play in the opponents' half...

Re: Given our current form are we in a false position?

Yeah but Grimsby et al could all get them selves into a bit of form, just as we lose a few on the bounce, and then we'll be adrift again. We need to get ourselves back into that pack ASAP, and then I'd be confident we can do it. At the moment I'm more hopefull.

He looked very comfortable, and he was up against someone who looked very tricky on their LHS (number 17). He could do with getting a bit bigger though, as if he comes up against some beast of a winger, he could well get easily outmuscled.

Re: Given our current form are we in a false position?

Under Todd, we were the worst team in the league. Staunton has changed things round and I'm reasonably confident we are no worse than the likes of Grimbsy, Macc etc. So in that respect we are in a false position as we shouldn't be adrift at the bottom. But we are because of the start we had. Hopeful...

I was impressed with Giddings and Mulligan. It will take them a while to get up to League fitness and used to the speed I'd imagine, but Giddings hardly put a foot wrong, and Mulligan showed some nice touches and awareness. Diop is going to frustrate us! He has something about him, but he looked unf...

I thought we may break 2k, because of the 4 week break without a home match, but I was somewhat surprised at 2400. A pleasant surprise though! Hopefully we can start breaking 2k on a regular basis, which isn't that impressive, but would be a step in the right direction.
