Re: Loan window

Dowson hasn't had a lot of clear cut chances though has he? they aren't the best 4 loan players we've ever had, but 1 of them has been our best player this season, 2 of them seem to be OK, and one of them should be ripping L2 to pieces if the stories of him before coming to us were to be believed.

Re: Loan window

I don't get that criticism of Todd personally. Chandler is a great (for us) player, Dowson looks a tidy enough finisher, Porritt came with a massive reputation and looked to be a stunning signing before he actually came. I havnt really seen a lot of Cook so cant comment on him. Not a bad set of loan...

This probably be more controversial coming from a Poolie. But to return a 4th time after almost 3 years out of any sort of management job whatsoever. What do you believe he can offer you,?? What football in the lower leagues has he seen over those 3 years,?? What players would he know that could do...

Re: Ideas to be forwarded to the club.

What about putting tickets in places like Northallerton, Catterick etc. Maybe not even specific tickets, just a "League 2" ticket that acts as a proper ticket at the turnstile. Just makes buying the tickets easier for people away from Darlington.

The so called supporters who boo the team etc on a match day really piss me off. Has happened at the Arena a few times already this season - particularly in the West Stand. We go to SUPPORT OUR team and not boo them. Yeah we are all disappointed at the minute but I'd like to think there's no one mo...

Re: How long has Todd got left?

I'd be prepared to wait until after the Rochdale match at home. That means we have played Accrington and Grimsby, away, but we should still be able to compete with them. We would have played Bournemouth and Rochdale at home too. Both tough games but if we scrap hard enough we should have enough to g...

Re: 4-3-3 on Saturday?

I'd start with Main and Windass. Main has shown some intelligent runs in his appearances this season, Windass still has the ability to play Main in when he makes those runs. Dowson may run a lot but he seems to be running into dead ends on the whole, in my opinion. Get the ball into Windass' feet an...

Re: For now I'll blame Houghton and the administrators

This is how I feel at the moment. The previous regime have certainly left us in a bad way in terms of the playing side of the club. This will take time to sort out. Everything is new, bar Foster and Miller, and a couple of youth team lads. This is why I'm not panicing yet. Yes, we've been poor, but ...

But we've not played anybody that's really decent yet. I don't agree that we've had a particularly hard start to the season, there are tougher games ahead. Pete you really need to pay more attention to games if you don't think Crewe and Bury are good L2 sides. Both will be top half come the end of ...

Yeah he had red boots on. To be fair, once he started getting the ball at his feet he looked fairly decent. This only happened 2nd half. In the 1st half he was pretty anonymous.

Re: Dare I say....

I'm hoping Main is fit to start soon. I know it seems desperate looking forward to a 17 year old starting, but he seems to make intelligent runs, whereas Dowson doesn't. If Main played with Thorpe, I think Thorpe would suddenly look alot more effective. If that makes sense.

He's going to be a cracking player. His inexperience showed a couple of times, but he still looks an absolute class act for someone who's playerd a handful of league games. Training and playing with Foster is going to help his game too.

Fully agree - 2nd half we nearly matched a very good Crewe side. They should get promoted this season. Zola, Donaldson AND Elding....they should score loads with that attack in this division.

Tonight, the first half was more of the same from saturday- launching balls and not creating anything. second half was an improvement - we played a bit of football, got Porritt and G Smith involved in the play, and looked more likely to score as a result of it. The defence looked solid. If we can ca...

Yeah I don't think he has either. Singh will be able to see the squad we currently have will keep us up, so why increase the budget for no gain? Let the club run within it's means and get the off the field stuff sorted. If come January and we are still rooted to the bottom of the table/miraculously ...

I cant see Main and Dowson working too well together upfront. I'd be tempted to start with Windass, as I can imagine he'll be very revved up to make up for his penalty.

Knight seems to be an average L2 keeper. Good shot stopping. Dodgy on crosses. His distrubition is good. He'll do OK for us over the course of the season.

Re: THE REAL COST OF THE WORST PEN EVER

It was a rubbish penalty. However, if the keeper had dived the other way, he would've been a hero. He looks like he'll do a job over the course of a season by sitting in a kind of deep striker role. He's not going to be the new Gabbiadini/Abbott etc, but he'll chip in with a few goals.

How is Foster past it? He's still recovering from his injury. Knight is far from an awful keeper. He's very much in the Sam Russell mode. Looks good at shot stopping, good distribution, dodgy at crosses. A very typical L2 goalkeeper.

I see Notts County haven't needed time to gel. Or is it only crap players that need to gel? Re: Ratings

Talk about over-reaction. Yes, we were poor. However, this squad has played only 3 competative games together. They need time to gel. There will be worse teams than us in the division this season. We have the basis of a hard to beat, lower mid table team.
