Re: Which away game are you looking forward to most next sea

I'd quite like Chester - I went to uni there and it's still not too far.

Altrincham, Hyde and Stalybridge are all local to me (if they are still in BSN nect season) so I'm just looking forward to getting some more Darlo watching in next season. Hopefully Stockport will come down with us too.

Can you two take whatever relationship you have/had with past/present board members and jog right on?

It's an important question but you're just stirring and quite frankly it's not welcome.

I don't know... If I was hungry and offered a dogs*** sandwich I probably wouldn't eat it. Maybe the bread. That makes no sense. In reference to beggars can't be choosers: If I was a hungry beggar I would still be choosy if offered a dogs*** sandwich. Would you fuck. You wouldn't touch it. I've kno...

Re: Darlington v Ebbsfleet United Match Thread

I love that despite everything going against us and being lucky to have a club people still expect a win every week. Expectations are going to have to change I think. We're in for a season of defeats and probable relegation but as long as there's a next season I'm happy. Just be grateful for nights ...

I'd chip a little in for that next season - would be a great little story for the season opener and this is what a community club is surely all about. This kind of support wouldn't even register at a prem club.

Re: Liddle willing to stand down

Quakerz, I understand you having a bit of a rant and you're entitled to but why on earth do you think we are entitled to beat Alfreton? Little teams beat bigger teams all the time, that's what makes football interesting. We were losing to teams like that earlier in the season with a bigger squad and...

Re: Youth team - next season

I think it costs around 150k, which is external funding which we will lose. Is that it? While we can't expect to sell youth wonderkids every year, at £350k for Dan Burn and ~£80k for Micheal Smith, can we afford not to keep it going? 150k is no small amount of money and it will be huge next year bu...

I know I'm going to get shot down here, because the manager is a club legend and hero, but can he actually manage? Todays shambles says no. Fire away everybody. Unfortunately got to agree, have thought that for a while but thought I'd let someone else get it in the neck first by suggesting it. :? D...

Re: Alfreton Town v Darlington Match Thread

To be fair, we've had very few players who have had tremendous upheaval and will be knackered (albeit they've had a bit of a rest recently) with youth teamers plugging gaps. I don't think games or results at times like this are an indication if anybody can or can't manage. Being able to just field a...

seems a pretty good deal to me - do a poor job, get the boot, get paid up for a year at a better rate than you got for working then walk into another job, do the same... nice work if you can get it.

Fair point, he wasn't made redundant and we shouldn't forget that. But if I was Cooper I wouldn't be holding out for all I could get I'd be holding out for a fair settlement though it sounds as though my idea of a fair settlement is different to most, and definitely different to Cooper. Having said ...

Damn - just lost the last reply I typed! In essence I said that I realise it was his tax to pay so the club would have been making a saving and I understand him not wanting that with Raj but I do think it is a little greedy to ask for more than you would have actually received anyway with the club i...

CrowdCube will of course have to be paid but I believe given that we're the first football club to use their services we have negotiated a fixed fee which is substantially lower than we would normally have to. Is CrowdCube the only way to get on board with this? and any ideas what substantially low...

Surely it's time to look seriously at the possibility of setting up monthly direct debits. It is unlikely that we'll find the full amount to satisfy the administrator but a guarantee of a small monthly income would help I'm sure. If most fans on here gave £10 - £20 a month I'm sure that would be a s...

I don't necessarily agree with how it has been done or whether it is the right thing to do but I certainly sympathise and think Raj is within his rights. Everybody seems to think that football should be treated completely different to the rest of the world. Football hasn't been immune to the recessi...

Couldn't agree more Mike. I've been reading this board for a while now and never posted mostly because it has become foul mouthed nonsense (and partly because I have nothing great to say!). Let's hope that it improves from now on. That said, before the September cull the poolie fans were really anno...
