Re: Coronavirus and DFC

It's all guesswork right now. The advice will change pretty rapidly if it does change so there is sense in planning for all eventualities you just hope they don't happen.

Is there any logic that the recent drop in interest rates allows opportunities to ease immediate cash flow concerns...

It's not the perfect situation but should be pretty cheap money.

Re: Coronavirus.

Have to remember 319 will be the lower end of people who actually have the virus. I saw something the other day which indicated in circumstances like this confirmed cases is very much the tip of the iceberg as simply speaking many who get it don't even really acknowledge their symptoms or seek a dia...

Re: Coronavirus.

I think it's pretty well known 9/10 people who contract the virus will have a cough for a few days. 1/10 will require hospital treatment and a fraction of them will as a result of underlying health conditions sadly pass away. The point is the steps being taken are proportionate to the risk exposed, ...

Re: Coronavirus.

Things seem to be going from bad to worse & I think it is only a question of time before it becomes a pandemic & there will be a serious risk to live sport in general & specifically non-league football. I mean maybe...except modelling by medical experts indicates that stopping public gatherings par...

as the virus appears to not be containable. Almost gone viral...wonder where that word derives from. 200,000 people die each year from Norovirus 60,000 people die each year from Flu It's hard to fathom why everyone is shiting themselves so much about this. Yes we want to contain the spread of a new...

No respect handshakes in games this weekend by sounds of it.

Teams will still have to line up and cross over but can't shake hands will be a bit bizarre.

[Spendy say the football club is a "non-profit organisation, all the money we bring in as a club is put back into our academy".
They might as well say that profits are invested in time travel given the chances of them making any.

Re: Spennymoor Players - Charged with betting offences

Let’s be clear, everybody who plays football knows about these rules, I mean everyone. I don’t care what punishment they get or what they bet on but if their defence is that they didn’t know about it then I’m afraid they are lying. They thought they would get away with it and wouldn’t be caught. Ig...

The fact they have the specific number of bets placed suggests they have done it from their own online betting account which is a bit thick.

That is interesting. Previously phoenix clubs have been re-instated at step 5, at least that is my understanding (and certainly where we ended up). The notable different this season is that step 5 of the pyramid will effectively be re-classified as supply league football not contributory league foot...

Hindsight is a wonderful thing - but if only we'd taken a mortgage out on a bit of spare land and built up our own stadium gradually like the one at Leamington or even more impressive the tameside stadium at Curzon Ashton both with their own social clubs and on site facilities. Called so because ta...

Just a bit concerned that DJ has loaned £50k to the club at some time in the past. Has this been spent and on what? How many others have made loans and are any still outstanding? I appreciate he has turned his two loans into shares but is thus announcement something to be concerned about long-time?...

I'll be honest I would expect an u23 at Newcastle to be earning more than someone at Carlisle but I don't really know after that point it is all a bit of a guess.

You don't but I think the perspective is that Armstrong probably does and see him as pivotal.

Re: Retention for next year

I'm genuinely surprised by the number of people suggesting to retain Atkinson... from what i've seen, I wouldn't play him in central midfield ahead of Hatfield, Omar or Wheatley, and I wouldn't play him at right back ahead of Hedley. Unless he converts to play centre back, I don't see a use for him...

Because it’s a well known fact that we exceeded the original playing budget set to bring in the likes of Hedley, Storey, Connell and Martin after the cup run. But two of them are loans so the liability doesn't extend to next season. So we just spent the extra money this season but it is time bound....

I don't really know who is available in the mark a la Hatfield that we could pull in so it's hard to discuss retention. Where do I think we are weakest at the moment still up top and probably at right back (without Trotman). Trotman resolves RB and then probably makes CB the next area "for improveme...

Gary Neville did an interview the other day which basically said "we are going to spend what we need to get promoted". We are not participating not to get promoted along those lines

I mean he said it was the Salford way but it was almost impossible to hear it without "this is Man United" tone to it.
