Re: Raj Singh

Personally I never wanted to hear what Singh had to say - words are just words and Singh could have sicked up a platter of silver tongued B.S. if he'd turned up to speak to us as proposed.

Actions speak louder than words.

It was unexpected that Singh would try to fleece an ex employee of HUFC?

No doubt when Dave Challinor is sacked, he'll struggle to get anybody decent as people will know what Raj Singh is like & can't be trusted to honour contracts.
I thought you were one of the people who wanted him back in at Darlo Pete?

A cup presented to the club with the most distasteful owners perhaps ?

Probably a dead cert for net season and no games required.
Who's going to pick the winner of that? There would be more nominees than entries for the Grand National.
I'll pick the winner. Newcastle Utd!

Job done.

Quite prepared to give up any refunds on rest of my season ticket provided Thommo gets to keep his 100th goal and next season we get promoted. BTW I have already paid for next season, so I will be watching😉

My first game was in 96 at Feethams V Northampton Town, and what a great game it was, the passion had been sown and I have been a supporter ever since. If only I had known that it would be nearly 15 years to wait for my first taste of success .

Re: Fanbase

I wonder how the takeover of our Geordie friends up the road affects our future fan base. A lot of football fans in Darlington and south Durham follow newcastle and they haven’t won a thing in years. If they start winning trophies it’s going to be even harder to attract young fans. Money doesn't gu...

"Hopefully" Old Git but some fans won't be able to do this, they simply won't be able to afford to - and there should be no stigma involved here either as all contributions in any way should always be voluntary.

Re: National League advises ending the season

Given the average attendances in NLN & an estimated pitch size of 100m by 76m, with 10m of terracing (no seats), using the 2m social distancing, by my back of envelope calculations 6 clubs would not be able to fit in normal crowds. Reckon 1400 is the limit. On the pitch, it would be even harder to ...

Re: National League advises ending the season

Experts now saying social distancing likely to stay in place for many months. That could mean no football for the foreseeable future even could mean next season just doesn’t happen. I saw this and it makes me wonder if the smaller leagues (Non league) may have a better chance of restarting than the...

Re: Our greatest night

On watching the Whitby highlights just now one thing struck me, as it did on the night at the time it happened. On our first goal, when the ball was rolling in a leisurely way towards the goal line, why didn’t the covering defender simply slide in and hook it sideways? It just looks as if he can’t b...

Re: Our greatest night

Whitby was absolutely brilliant. I wasn't going to go as I was all footballed out and felt lousy with cold but I got talked into it by my son ( ) and witnessed the most amazing game of football and night out combined. I'm not a Martin Gray fan but it was he who masterminded the end of this se...

Our run in, I was so much looking forward to it! It would have been the last game of the season this Saturday coming and a quick scan through on this thread shows that H1987 was the closest with his points estimate of 16 - obvs the total points tally is looking to be zero unless a miracle happens. I have previous form here! A drunk teenage me was picked up by Jackie Charlton whilst hitch hiking back home from a late night booze up. Re: New initiative by the club 'Virtual Tickets'

An article on the Stafford Rangers Website says they have fixed costs of £6,000 even when not operating. Quite scary to realise the costs involved even after furloughing staff, no games to put on etc. Obviously, Stafford will have different costs to Darlington as they have their own ground and will...
