Re: Omar Holness

I don't think Alun ever fancied him - I think I lot of these players were pushed in by previous FD Woolnough. I do think Omar was a decent player - seemed a really nice guy off the pitch as well - seemed to really get into the football club and the fans. I think you’ve got it spot on. Bascome’s alr...

Re: Raj Singh

Totally agree. Sadly the lack of our own stadium means we've reached our level on the current model. The only thing holding us back is the lack of ways of raising money from off field activities. Having a council owned ground may not even have guaranteed that. We would still be at the beck and call...

Re: Raj Singh

No doubt when Dave Challinor is sacked, he'll struggle to get anybody decent as people will know what Raj Singh is like & can't be trusted to honour contracts. I thought you were one of the people who wanted him back in at Darlo Pete? At the time I said that we should listen to what he had to say, ...

Re: National League advises ending the season

Experts now saying social distancing likely to stay in place for many months. That could mean no football for the foreseeable future even could mean next season just doesn’t happen. I saw this and it makes me wonder if the smaller leagues (Non league) may have a better chance of restarting than the...

There'll be a tightening of the belt all round. I see that Raj Singh is indicating that "under a new structure there will be a significant need for volunteers to supplement the club employees in both the day to day running of the club and on match days." Oh dear, sounds to me like he's getting the ...

Re: The Feethams pitch

The interviews with Reynolds after that match were quite telling with hindsight - he wasn’t talking in a particularly positive way. You wonder whether he in some way was responsible for the big drop off in form from about March time Without a doubt. I know for a fact thats why Gabbiadini went off t...

Ok thanks for that, good to hear that Cyril lasted nearly 4 years. I remember when Paul Ward took over we were already on our way back down to Division Four & we had an away league game at Ayresome Park who were going back up to Division One. We weren't given a chance of getting anything, but came ...

Re: It was 30 years ago this week just gone.....

Thanks for that Nimrod I was there. I only missed 2 games home & away all season & that was because of a holiday booked before the season started. I remember going to the first game of the season at Wycombe & someone said lets go to every game this season, so there was a group of around 10 of us th...

I'm sure two supporters coaches went that day being the first away game in the conference it was a bit of a novelty.
I was thinking that too, not sure why Pete thinks we had less than 50. We had great support at most away games that season.

Way more than 50 there Pete, couple of hundred at least.

Re: Season VOIDED

You can guarantee that any fines owed to the FA will still be expected to be paid, even if the games they were relating to are voided. Can of worms is an understatement. Even on here we all have different opinions so imagine what thats like over every club in the pyramid, especially with clubs that ...

I'm not sure I can give this a serious answer? One has been enacted by the government, after pushing appropriate laws through parliament, the other would be enacted by a private company!? They can void a season because that is in their jurisdiction to do...they provide the permission to play footba...

Or would we be allowed to not extend it and whilst he might be registered to Boston they would need to arrange an entirely new contract with him to...

Those who say this season should be voided have not come up with a sensible suggestion should this problem last into, or reoccur next season. No integrity for steps 3-6 though is there? Exactly. Why are people so desperate to get next season started on time? Get this season finished first. The FA have the power to make sure this happens so why not do that. Next season is likely to be disrupted too so what will we do then? Void another se...

The problem is without evidence then these things are one person's word against another. If they didn't back the referees then you wouldn't be playing anyway. I think about 30% of amateur football is called of because of referee shortages and the average time that a referee is active now is 2 years...

Eddie-rowles, you look at the situation through a "fan's eyes". You may want to do everything to save your club as would most fans The footballers are employees, not fans. They act as employees.
