Re: Vinnie Steels

According to today’s Echo Vinnie Steels has returned to Sunderland to join their under 23 ranks after spells at Darlington York and Burnley. Wonder if they want to loan him out to a NLN team for experience? Certainly would make sense for him to get some first team experience - he needs to be playin...

Pre-season training starts Monday
Great thanks - I had just noticed that some of the teams in our league had started to return to training.

Re: Ground share

Yes we are a fan owned club, but let’s not be run by committee, let DJ get on with the job and assess the viability of all the options.

Re: Ground share

From a personal point of view I already decided I will not be attending while restrictions are in place so whether it's at BM or the Arena makes no difference to me. Also from the League's perspective it makes little sense in allowing us to move to a bigger venue thus increasing crowds when the con...

Re: Ground share

Now there is a new guy at the helm of DMP - surely now its an opportunity to get into bed with these guys about a future ground share, smaller stadium etc - we all know the issues with DRC - both the club and the ground itself - at the end of the day we have to look after ourselves and a new facilit...

Apparently the arena is to be demolished to make way for housing and will replaced with a 7,000 capacity stadium for DMP.

Obviously I have no idea how genuine this is but it will be interesting to see what comes out of their EGM.
Seems like an ideal stadium size for us ...hint hint

Re: Ground share

Surely Darlington Rugby Club won't be happy us buggering off to the Arena - is it even legally possible? But we will have to continue to pay our rent to them.

interested to see that the York City twitter account says that he refused improved terms.
During this pandemic its an interesting decision / gamble to make - or maybe he wants to go part time?

just as we suspected Alun was a big draw for him to come - Alun has got the best out of him so the signs are good.
Plus I think he knows he will be starting week in and week out

I can't imagine a young keeper with little experience would be a Warnock keeper - so I would be surprised if he stood in his way of a loan move anywhere.

My thoughts for what its worth - the sporting village was a great opportunity to piggy back on but it was always an outside bet. - We should stay well clear of the Arena. - For most of the clubs entire history we have been tenants, to the cricket club and now the rugby club and when we did escape th...

Wouldn't surprise if Spendy are turning his head - he has always been in the first 11 until the back end of the season - I wonder if he like Thommo might take one last pay day elsewhere.

"Wilson was coming along great with Danny but then disappeared a few months back without explanation so no idea what his plans are or if he’s recovered fully."
Can anyone solve this mystery?

Hopefully Trotts will make a full comeback but he will need a bedding in period wherever he goes because of his injury, I can't see many teams taking a punt on him if they have to pay a fee to get him. While we are in this league we should be looking at players locally, especially when we are part t...

Re: Thommo

I think its the right time for all, he got his 100 goals which he thoroughly deserved, but has looked out of sorts this season and hasn't made much of an impact - but what a fantastic player and servant for the club.
In Alun we trust and he needs to be able to clear our who he wants.

I don't think Alun ever fancied him - I think I lot of these players were pushed in by previous FD Woolnough.
I do think Omar was a decent player - seemed a really nice guy off the pitch as well - seemed to really get into the football club and the fans.
