Re: If you could change 3 things about football today....

when have you ever seen a "dust up" on a football pitch ? Meaning actual punches thrown ?

I do like the idea of 3 challanges or referals to a tv ref.

Our regional ten teams Us Newcastle Sunde...

Have Darlington RA ever been entered into the FA Cup?

Yes, 3 or 4 times.

Onthe subject of the Northern Leagues strength , i'd like to point out that they do have quite a good record in the FA Vase.

Re: Non-league north-east sides in the FA Cup

Alot less Northern League teams are in this years competiton as the FA wanted to reduce the number of teams in it. Only the teams in NL 1 and the top 8 teams from last seasons div2 were entered this year. Crook Town made the 4th Qualifying round a few years ago before going out against Doncaster. We...

Gotta laugh at people who think work rate is enough for a pro footballer !

I could flog my tits off for 90 mins , giving 100% effort - does it mean i'm any good ? No it doesn't !

Same goes for many darlo players past and present !

Re: Silence from Singh?

D.F.C directors or whoever is in charge should go to the Riverside (DCCC) on a Twenty20 match , and see exactly how its done.

T20 is the closest cricket gets to football in terms of crowd for local game , and timing.

Durham wins hands down.

are disillusioned with football generally? I know I am. I used to watch the cup draws, I used to watch (and care about) England internationals (including friendlies). Now I rarely watch final score.

Re: Durham win County Championship

Quite simply , Durham are far and away the best team in the championship. What other bowling attacks have 4 bowlers capable of bowling 90mph plus ! Plus Davies & Thorpe who are a couple of the best swing bowlers around ! Great to see Coetzer get some runs , esp as he's played NYSD league this year. ...

Re: £2.50 for a pie £3.00 a bottle of Carling

I bet you fellow Quakers are glad you dont go and watch Durham play cricket at the riverside , like i do quite regulary. £3.50 is the cost for the 500ml carling bottles, the same price as rather dodgy lager on tap. As for the food, order a burger and chips and you wouldnt get any change from a fiver...

Could cause problems (at rochdale) of away fans going into the home end to save themselves a couple of quid - credit crunch / resession and all !
