Re: York sack another manager
Don’t think they are really fan owned anymore. This chap Henderson owns 51%, the supporters trust 49%. So Henderson has all the power, and to make it worse he thinks he knows more about football than his managers. No doubt there will be a queue for the job but you’d wonder if a decent manager would ...

Re: Dale Eve...
Late sixties we had a keeper John Hope. Believe we sold him to Newcastle and then he moved on to Sheffield Utd. He was in goal for them at Old Trafford when George Best scored a stunning goal. On a pitch that looked like a mudbath ran from near the centre circle, riding a series of tackles that woul...

Southend gate receipts
Saw a tweet about Southend’s money troubles which listed those individuals and organisations owed money - players, office staff, HMRC etc. It also says Darlo are owed our share of net gate receipts from the trophy match.

Beck
Sounds familiar - interesting comments about Beck from Solihull fans after last night’s defeat to Notts County - played well but was manhandled and roughed up all night and got nothing from the ref.

Re: Mark Beck
We need to seriously start upping these buy out clauses or just get rid of them... They're way too low. For a team as loaded as Solihull to come in and pay the rumoured £20k is a joke. We could and probably should be demanding more. I suppose that the presence, content and level of any buy out clau...

Re: Mark Beck
Like everyone else I would be disappointed and frustrated if he leaves, but we must remember that we have no qualms in bringing in players from smaller clubs because we have bigger pockets and give them chance to play at higher level. Release clauses are annoying but inevitable. Top quality part tim...

Jake Lawlor is fit to return tomorrow and will replace Paddy Almond, who is making good progress. In shock news David Wheater is fit, well fit enough to take part in the warm up, so at least a step in the right direction. We really could do with winning this one to stay in contention. I’d like to t...

On the issue of punishment for unacceptable behaviour this is the penalty former Crawley manager John Yens has been given: https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12789094/fa-concludes-john-yems-is-not-a-conscious-racist-despite-outlining-a-string-of-offensive-racial-remarks Quite how the FA ...

Likewise looking forward to it.Long time since I went to Southend - Gary Bennet was manager. Closest game to me after Kings Lynn so a bit of a bonus. Hell of a trip from Darlo (not really the time of year to make a weekend of it) but hopefully we’ll get a lot of London and south east based exiles. T...

Interestingly, Henderson owns 51% of YCFC, the supporters trust own 49%. If Henderson goes around sacking popular managers and acting the big cheese then I can't see this working out, I mean, did he consult with the co owners? It doesn't look like it. Only owns 51% of the club, but seems to have 10...

Starting 11 for this one? I’ve gone with an extra midfielder as I think we need a cautious approach. Taylor Dodds Lawlor Sukar Hedley Moke Purver Rose Felix Beck Lambert Subs: Liddle, Barbosa, Rivers, Leesley, Hazel. Everyone is obsessed with 4-3-3, what's wrong with 4-4-2? Then we can have Hazel a...

You had to buy a ticket from one of two windows before you could go through the turnstiles, its was a nightmare, but at least you can buy online tickets now. Seen on another forum somebody saying that the queen was the epitome of the 'keep calm and carry on' approach to life and that keeping things as planned with some form tribute would have been the most appropriately response. Maybe a factor for football was the concern that a few idiots would make fo...

Odds for 22/23
Just had a look at NLN odds for coming season. William Hill have us fourth favourite at 9/1, behind favourites Flylde, Kidderminster and Brackley.
Think that is rather optimistic, I don't think I'll be investing anything at those odds.
They also have Scarbourough as favourites to go down.

Re: BTB - It's back
I think last year the 'final' final total was a little bit more than the running total at the deadline. People who couldn't or didn't want to use the on line method got their money to the club by other means. So it's possible that we might even exceed last years total.

Refs call off games for reasons like waterlogging, frozen, under a foot of snow etc. Do games ever get called off because the ref thinks that the pitch just isn't good enough - too rough, bumpy etc - or does it come down to player safety?

Agree a great piece of work and great communication. Personally I’m a ‘hoops all the time’ fan, but what is being proposed seems a sensible way forward. The only thing I wonder about- if I’ve read it correctly- is to have a new shirt every season. In the dire financial straights many people are in a...
