Re: Supporter Liaison Poll

Taylors pies were "promised" at a fans forum, but like the dedicated marquee bar never happened.

Re: Supporter Liaison Poll

For me the main obstacle to an all round decent day is getting out of the car park. I've learned to live with the relatively modest delay but, as we know, Jekylls become Hydes (or is it the other way round) when at the wheel of a car and I see lots (and I mean lots) of angry and frustrated people w...

Re: New stand now under construction

Certainly makes the stand look a lot better but most of all improves the seating opportunity. Not expected to be in use for Kidderminster game due to further work and paving required etc. https://preview.ibb.co/iyGbAn/16th_February_new_stand_4_1024x576.jpg ] I’ve somewhat lost track of seats, stand...

Re: New stand now under construction

I'd imagine the requirements in future will be some kind of area with power sockets, wifi access and a desk area of sorts for journos. Could potentially be built into the stand of course. Filming, perhaps we can get a platform next to it - depends on the restrictions because of the damned pipe. Mig...

on 36 points now and another 36 available. I suppose getting another 14 points is pretty nailed down now, but it would be great to better 2 points a game and take part in the play offs. Salford and York may get a come uppance.

Re: Free entry for U11s

Fantastic, despite my son being 11 soon. A long awaited initiative from the club. I wonder what will be the next ground development. Some low terracing should be relatively cheap to procure and build, with fans finding waste fill and the civils work.

Long throws can look positive, but getting the ball to feet in space is far more productive.

Re: Confidence

Just one concern, the state of the pitch. Still signs of water gathering in some places and centre of field showing signs of wear. At least no soccer on it for a couple of weeks and worst of winter weather behind us? Egg chasing wont help the surface, but with the new confidence our lads may not no...

Re: New stand now under construction

The new extension will provide more seats for families, elderly, disabled of Darlo and makes the ground look a little less tinpot. I suppose some of it may have to be allocated to away support, for segregated games. Those fans who cant handle the ground level "view" now have an option with a side on...

Re: Supporter Liaison Poll

For me, the biggest thing is the views. I appreciate some good work has been done this year in terms of moving the dugouts and also the new stand is being expanded, which will hopefully help, but it is still the stand out problem to me when we have a larger crowd. The bar, could we not simply recti...

Re: Blyth

He does not have the pace to play as an attacking full back. It is as simple as that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk He has never looked the real deal as a left back. He has closed some tricky wingers down on occasion, but has often left gaps. He is better at centre back. Why cant take his qualit...

Good job we signed him, what with the Brown head injury putting Tezza in contention for a far more suited Centre Back role.

Re: Vaulks

Collins needs to get FULLY fit, as does Brown. We now have 2 full backs brought in that can do the business with the right distribution and cover for when they go forward. Heaton and Galbraith may be the best current fit Centre Back combo. Vaulks seems to be back from RCA, but I suppose may only fea...

Re: 50 points

We had very poor performances from "good" players under the Gray part of the season. If confidence can continue to rise with the current hybrid team of new and old players the mistakes in defence and distribution should be reduced. Every game is vital and the team needs to battle and be positive eve...

Re: Leamington v Darlo

I can't believe how people singled out Turnbull as a scape goat to our bad form, He is a very good player on his day , surely he is allowed an off day, it just shows on Saturday how he can change a game... Let's get behind EVERY player instead of slating them after a bad game it doesn't help our ca...

Re: Dutch Article on experiencing a Darlington FC match

So I'm a student in Manchester at the moment, and last year I made a friend who was on exchange from Rotterdam for 6 months. On the weekend of meeting, the Stockport away fixture was coming up and I invited him to come along. I'm sure anyone who was there will remember the fixture well, 3-3 thrille...

Re: Ed Wilczynski leaves on a month’s loan

I don't see how we can monitor his performances when he is so far away. Maybe Tommy has some trusted contacts there. To be honest the gappy and slow defence in front of him has been all at sea, as Boro demonstrated with great ease. I would try Vaulks, Collins & Heaton as a back 3, as Brown probably ...

Re: New Signing

Glover has already played in this league and if he was DFR's "young lad in the middle" he made a decent showing against Boro A. He may get some bench and sub duty this campaign, as Styche needs close support from behind and Glover could possibly fit that bill. I expect Syers, Wheatley, Saunders, Cat...

Re: Gainsborough

Agree with the individual choices. Formation may be flexible, as each game proceeds. Overall we seem to have some better options for places with the recent team tactics and new signings. Syers has been scoring his goals against defences that have been stretched, so maybe he is best used as a second ...

Rose Tinted View 2018

Setting aside the long term issues and aspirations, it seems the club can now concentrate on the football side more, rather than dealing with Martin Gray's ego and his financially damaging statements. The team are attempting to play a better, more entertaining and effective, brand of football. More ...

Re: Boston United v Darlington Match Thread

Boston were crap, but with little Thommo, Carts, Dawson & Marrs it was a shock to see Darlo trying to pass the balls up in the air. Boston were more physical and taller, so most aerial passes lost us possession. At least they weren't passing to the two most marked players this weekend. Darlo were al...

Re: York City v Darlo Match Thread

Our extra players will be training with the 1st team and will therefore have a better chance to fit into any gaps. MG will not carry any players who cant fit in. Darlo are considering installing a percentage of seats early uncovered, that may encourage extra fans to attend games. e.g. families, seni...

I'm going to have naughty thoughts about Ferguson tonight. He's too good for this level. How he didn't get MOM is beyond me. In the current market, he must be worth £30M. Lol. defence still causes palpitations. But last year, this team hit 4 in the same game. So I'm looking St the pluses. I'm not h...

Apart from the opening 30 seconds or so, I thought we played great today. We look 'full' of goals performing like that. It would be nice if we could get regular crowds over 2000 but it appears some 'fans' in the Town still need convincing before they return. The weather didn't help just prior to ki...

Re: Match thread?

Crowd attendance:1547 Bit disappointing given 3 wins, 10 goals and back in town. Possibly some folk on holiday still, as quite a few empty seats in the new stand? Either that or Darlo fans have no friends ;) Heavy rain started about 1 hour before the game and continued until drizzle arrived just be...
