Re: Farsley V Darlington Match Thread

In terms of excuses, the pitch and refs didn’t help. We should of had a free kick for a blatant block on rivers leading to their first goal. In term of individuals there were question marks over a few but thought Hatfield was great, Campbell showed plenty and had the pitch ran as it should he would ...

Caton had some ability but I wasn't a fan of his commitment and determination. Don't really think there's any need to mock him though

Re: Josh Heaton

Campbell’s situation is very similar to that of Mark Beck’s when we signed him. Been in the football league, bereft of confidence, previous club fans not saying very positive things about him, him dropping down a few levels to look to resurrect his career. Turned out that Beck was actually an outst...

Re: Expectations 19/20

at the moment, I'm not too worried by a goalscorer. With this formation, the responsibility for scoring isn't solely on Campbell. He will be expected to score 10-15, but I think Rivers, Thompson and Holmes will also expect to be at about the same. The way they interchange their positions, the defens...

Re: Josh Heaton

Really wondering where tez fits into this equation mind. Pretty sure liddle will be our starting left back. Nice problem to have though. Can imagine Laing, Heaton & Galbraith being rotated. Liddle & Watson to cover LB, Trotman at right-back (but bare in mind that we have no cover for Luke meaning o...

I haven't seen or heard anyone suggest that Holness has played anywhere near his best in these trial games. If you were Armstrong, then you'd be wondering what the fuss was about

Re: Josh Heaton

I think it'd take a long time for Josh to get back to where he was. Remember it's a player that has barely played since he played for us. Will be difficult to get himself back in shape, unless he goes somewhere where he is guaranteed first team football

I'd heard that the pitch just needs a good shower on it and it'll play fine. Think it needs to be assessed in the upcoming friendlies before we start with all the accusations

Re: Darlington away vs Bishop Auckland

I agree with an earlier post about Glover. I felt that 80% of his play was very good. Even made a couple of great forward runs but the did give the ball away which left us exposed 2/3 times. Once because he waited for the ball rather than going to it, which Armstrong was fuming about. It gave them c...

Re: Trottman

I think it's a difficult situation with the distance he's having to travel on his own two three times a week , as I think AA would want the whole team at training. Just my take on things that have been said, hope he stays but I have reservations . Travelling has never made a difference to Luke’s pe...

Re: How about one of these....

If we were to build anything at BM (and its a big if, dependent on whether we will be there or the sporting village long term). If we were to build anything we should go for something similar to what Harrogate have put next to their seated stand. It's 12 rows deep and has a capacity of 1100. Only t...

Re: York City Prices next season

Think the ground already had an agreement to buy on it, believe York received a large amount of money several years ago to have first call on the ground by a major national builder. As you say can't see McGill leaving before the end of next season if ever, but him and his family were big ycfc suppo...

Re: York City Prices next season

Given players they have recently signed, they are really going for it this year including latest signing from Tranmere, budget must be massive compared to ours. The chairman Jason McGill's company having to drop in to sponser the team this year as they did not get a sponser in time, and he rarely g...

Could not agree more Lucan ,another 6 games and we would have been in deep trouble. If we had kept Tommy on ,how many of the old squad would still be here. Most of them I reckon, that's how clueless he was, we are in a far better place now thank god. Re: Transfer Rumours

Seem to be well covered in defence and wide areas, just need the rest of the spine now. GK, CM, ST minimum It sounds like we can potentially borrow another boro keeper, which is fine by me. This season still depends very much on someone who can score, if we get that then I’m optimistic about next s...

Brilliant signing for them, he is.

I bet he comes at a hefty wage though.
They seem to have a bit of cash behind them, especially after they were languishing near the bottom in the first couple of seasons at this level

Expecting a 4-2-3-1 formation with Thompson, Rivers, Holmes then potentially Kneeshaw and Hopson that can play in the 3. Sounds decent to me, but awaiting for the important striker

Aaron Williams has been released by Harrogate.
What a signing that would be!

Originally from the midlands but currently living around the harrowgate area
I’d have fancied our chances of signing him if TW had still been here
Gone to Telford

Personally I wouldn’t be gutted if Jameson didn’t sign. There’s plenty of decent keepers out there to loan if required. It’s the striker that we are desperate for. Could also do with some staff

If we are saying that Amar who ended up 2nd in the goalscoring charts isn’t good enough then aren’t we saying that non in the NL would be good enough?
