URGENT - Official Poll Name Change
Tori, Laura et al Firstly thanks for getting something up and running BUT this Poll is SERIOUSLY flawed. It uses a cookie based website which basically means you get one vote per computer. There is no need to log in and if Dad has voted then son, daughter, wife etc can't. On the other hand - just go...

So what brand bog roll are we getting then? Hope it's not that tracing paper stuff that used to be in schools back in the day! That would be the "Ministry of Defence" bog roll! Ha Ha ! Hi guys have listed the following on Ebay: In these times of the re-birth of our team I have for sale the definitive collection of the highs and lows of following the Quakers. Ever since video's were born I have been taping and keeping as many snippets as I can of all that is the Quakers!!! From th...

Re: "Missing Investors"
It has been suggested we ask, so I am asking. So far the take up of CIC memberships has been lower than we had expected, we did expect some fall-off but not quite the level we have seen. It would be useful to understand why, in a constructive way :) I have added a Poll...Feel free to add reasons if...

Sorry not getting excited - whilst I am glad we are still in existence after the rollercoater ride we have all been on. Can't say I am looking forward to watching Northern League football at Bishop Auckland. I hate watching a game from behind the goal so wont go in that stand and feel like I should...

You are completely wasting your time, stop beating yourself up about it. Radged Strings made his intentions clear on January 18th - the club WAS folded. We were only deluding ourselves after that point that he might help football in Darlington, after that. We should stop the agonising and hypotheti...

Not so sure I'll be renewing my season tickets, because my daughter is now 16 and will no longer be kids price so will cost £80 as a student concesion. So it's 150+80+35 for me, so that's £265 to pull out soon, but we're saving our spending money for a fortnight away in August. It's money I could d...

A lady I know (who lives in Tindale) has just posted on Bishop Auckland FC's Facebook status saying that as part of the agreement with Tesco when it was initially built was that the football club could use its car parking. I know for a fact that as a resident she was at these initial meetings so I ...

Re: Season ticket volumes
I'm undecided. On the one hand a season ticket provides a guaranteed income for the Club but I'm a bit disappointed in the discount. £150 is quite a whack to have to stand and miss five games which many of us do and you're out of pocket. Also weekday nights in winter are going to be a logistical pro...

Course it's easy for them two to spout how 1883 aren't capable of running a football club from their position of having ran a football club. Oh wait... I don't think I had anything about them closing my account down. I was notified that the DFC1883 scheme had come off Crowdcube. They might be "bloody iron on patches" but we still have to wait to find out where we are before we iron them on. Back on topic. I see in the NLP that the entire fabric of their old ground is now up for sale. This would be a good time to pick up some much needed extras for Shildon or the future. Turnstiles, seats, urinals etc as a first priority.

Perhaps it's an indication of how long it will really take. After Darlington has already been granted city status.Quakerz wrote:On the 1883cic site "It is also to be the vehicle for the football club to return to the city, and to build and own a fit-for-purpose stadium."

I'm certainly not getting too excited! It will be a bonus if it is evostik, but either way we are going to have to rebuild this club completely. Might be a bonus to you, but to me Evostik Premier is nothing less than expected and Evo 1N means we've been punished harshly, though I'd live with it. I'...

I am one of the seven who has put up for co-option since I have unfinished business now that there is to be a new, open and constructive era with the Trust accessible, representative of its members and talking to anyone with DFC's interests at heart.
Here's hoping the slate has been wiped clean.

Would you buy a certificate?
Quakerlady has done wonders in recent weeks and set me thinking. Given that the revised funding model is unlikely to lead to real share certificates. How many of you would be prepared to pay to have a document that records your commitment through the SC/DUFF/DAFTS/Tykes/Trust factions. I could produ...

The vote was a near unanimous mandate - I didn't count but it looked like 45 -5 for the new board to engage with 1883 and find a way ahead to use the funds sensibly. Interestingly SD didn't bother asking for/against/abstentions so we don't know whether there were serious objections or just don't kno...

Sadly it was the old trust board that were out of their depth. Claire went out of her way (I felt) to defend them even after she'd been abandoned. SD have loads of good advice and they could have helped the old board to rebrand itself if it had wanted to. New board and a new start and hint at a chan...
