Re: National League Stadia

Yep. That's one of the issues we ironed out with DRFC, who were reasonably flexible about it (because they probably needed our money). The latter might end up applying to DMPRFC down the line. Honestly though, i don't see why we're having this discussion. We're getting less than half of the really b...

Re: York City

Reckon Spurs would comfortably win that little competition...

Can't imagine there being a whole lot of fanfare for their new stadium while they're in the conference north. Honestly, i'm still shocked by how bad they are.

Re: Champs

Yes, i think it's fit for the playoffs - but if they are promoted, they need to have increased capacity to 4,000 by March 31st, and have plans to show how this can be increased to 5,000. Relatively easy for us to get BM up to 4,000 at least. I suspect it'll be more of a challenge for Spen - and also...

Re: Champs

What will happen next season for relegated teams from the National League? Seems likely that x4 southern teams will come down. Will that mean the likes of Oxford City and maybe Gloucester/Bath City are placed in the 'North'. Braintree are expecting to be in the North next season if you ask official...

Re: Champs

I'm not so convinced the lower reaches of the national are much worse than the top of the North, in particular. The South is a weaker league, which you can sort of see from how quickly Torquay look like they're going to march through it, while teams relegated to the North often struggle. It's also q...

Re: Do The Wright Thing

I’m not denying there’s plenty of blame that can be apportioned but just found it strange that you highlight Nelson’s 6 goals in a month as a comparator for others when he’s clearly a far far better player that really we very lucky to have. As far as scorers go we certainly could be doing better bu...

Stockport for me, but Spen have every chance in the playoffs. I weirdly fancy us to take a point from Chorley.

Re: Darlington V Southport match thread

As far as most of us are aware, TW's contract is up in the summer, and no extension has been agreed yet? I think you means as most of us assume. As logically given why he was appointed if he was on a fixed term contract that would make sense. You know what assume does tho... Well, no. That's what w...

Re: National League Stadia

Trying the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is supposed to be the definition of insanity, isn't it?

That. Never never never again. It'll kill the club.

Going back to the Arena would kill this club.

Re: National League Stadia

Right now, BM is fine coping with about 2,300 or so. After that, views are going to suffer. With another tinshed, maybe even like the one at Heritage Park at the open end, things will improve, in terms of coping with crowds and atmosphere. We might as well make the most of it. This sports village id...

Nicholson might be slightly more advanced?

Surprised to see Palmer dropped, but Wheatley is our best midfielder for me. We always look better with him in the side.

I sort of agree. It's a full blooded 50/50, and while he clearly means to take the man with him, i don't think he intends to cause injury.

The reaction afterwards however, is one of a cnut.

Can you actually guarantee it? Do you know something we don't, or is that just confident overstatement?

I totally agree, once we have a stand in the empty end, it will feel like more of a ground, and adequate for the national league.

Re: Darlington V Brackley

Honestly, we might as well give Burn another go at some point. I assume we probably have him for another year, and instead of moving Ainge, i'd rather give him a shot again from the start and see what he can do. Anyway, personally, i'd play: (assuming fitness on these players behalves) ...............

Re: Darlington V Southport match thread

To be honest, as things stand, i'd probably extend TW's contract by a year.

But, lets see how we finish the season before we make a decision on that.

Re: Muggleton

He may well not play again, and that's desperately sad, especially as he was a professional hoping to make his way in the game. Any ligament injury is usually around a year anyway, but it involves ongoing work on building stability in the knee through regular exercise... which he can't really do if ...

Re: Darlington V Southport match thread

Its the reaction of their player that does my head in. He's screaming blue murder after the coming together. Quite why I don't know. He was at it all afternoon. Just watched it back now. What a fucking arsehole. Their other players are clearly concerned he is badly hurt, (and the angle his leg is a...

Re: Muggleton

True, you *can* get knee ligament damage which isn’t a tear of course... but from a dislocation, I believe it’s much more likely that he’s dealing with a tear. It’s awful news for the lad either way. Obviously he isn’t our player, but at this level such a bad injury is terrible news. Hoping he makes...

A broken leg and knee ligament damage. Awful. Could even be career ending for him..

Ligament damage is usually a year anyway, but a broken leg along side it? Awful news.

Well.. its not the same, is it? It's full hoops, and it has supporters names woven into the white.

I voted for 4, but I like this one too. I hope the numbers are red at least

Re: Choose next seasons kit!

Trust Darlo fans to choose the plainest, black and white hoops possible  To be fair, i don't dislike it. My preference was 4 with the red flash on the arms, but i'm happy we have a settled identity. Darlington FC = Black and White hoops. Lets keep it that way, albeit with minor variation year o...

Non league football is a huge part of the culture of football in this country. It is relatively unique, and is part of our heritage. It should be protected.

Here's hoping Nuneaton pull through.
