Re: nick liversedge

Ditto, I agree with the above post - the goalkeeper looked at fault for all three goals but that said as Steve Staunton was a defender you would think that would be his strongpoint as a manager. You look at the 'keepers Darlo had when they finished bottom previously and all flapped and lacked confid...

Re: *Any Player That Used To Play For Darlo*

I was talking to Simon recently and he was pleased that someone remembered him!

I would bring back Barrie Geldart because when he was there the club brought in some genuine talent like Sean Gregan & Robbie Blake.

What about Alan Dowson & Gary Chapman - on second thoughts maybe not.

Re: David Thorne dies

Really sorry to hear this - had a lot of time for David as he was genuine and really did care for the club. I hope the club holds a minutes silence for him on Monday if the game goes ahead though shame I can't be there due to work commitments. I'm hoping i can make the Port Vale home game instead.

Re: ....and now for something completely different.

BeatRoute66 - You are absolutely spot on, Steve Duffy is an Aston Villa fan and his family originally come from Birmingham. Felt were based in a village called Water Orton on the outskirts of the city and released 10 albums and singles in ten years. The Martin Duffy period is my favourite particular...

JUST A BIT OF FUN FOLKS TO LIGHTEN THE MOOD: Celebrity Darlo fans: MARTIN DUFFY (keyboard player) of Primal Scream: The brother of Steve Duffy of DAFTS fame attends occasional away matches. He spent the mid-eighties in a band called FELT whom released the splendid FOREVER BREATHES THE LONELY WORD an...

Re: VIEW FROM THE OUTSIDE

OHDFC - that's fair enough comment, just a couple things I would like to correct you on. The Mark Meynell fronted consortium never approached Stuart Davies because part of the arrangement with Reynolds was that they wouldn't be involved in the process at any point in the negotiations and after the d...

Re: VIEW FROM THE OUTSIDE

I would like to point out that when I originally posted on here it was under the thread 'Staunton DOES need to go ! Well said Quakerman etc' after a few responses I gave my reasons why I can no longer attend on a regular basis. My posting has been highlighted and given some significance and taken of...

Re: phil tayler sports personality of the year?

Dave Lanning - now there's a name from the past. He was involved with speedway racing as much as darts but couldn't half waffle! Darts commentating was made for people like Dave. If darts is a sport does that mean other pub games like table football and arm wrestling are as well? I say bring back In...

Re: Staunton DOES need to go ! Well said Quakerman etc

Fair enough comment, Stan Webb's Ghost. I don't go now, you do. Don't know if it was possible at the time but a manager used to operating on a particular budget would have been preferential. I think someone commented on this and mentioned Stan Ternent. I'm not having a go at Raj Singh as I don't kno...

Re: Staunton DOES need to go ! Well said Quakerman etc

I'm one of those fans that stopped going during the Reynolds era so I appreciate my comments may not go down too well with the 1,700 that are continuing to turn up for home matches. I have my reasons why I stopped going; some of them were work related and others because I knew what was going on at t...
