Re: Taking Stock: Consolidation
the knicker wringing on here at times is phenomenal. but then it's the same with most clubs. I don't think football has changed - just people. and I'd imagine the most knicker wetting is being done by younger folk. this isn't an age-ist dig - just that older fans have been through all of this. many...

I would guess the full time wage they offered him was more than he was getting between us and his current job. Enough more that it was too good for him to turn down. There's also the possibility they'll fund coaching courses for him alongside him playing. Either way, he did well for us and I don't b...

Re: Darlington v Brackley Town
Interesting you think our board had no say in this. I know Gray is everyone's favourite bogeyman right now, but I'd be staggered if our board had no say in handing out the two year deals. Very true, though I'd wager they had Gray extolling their virtues and the board would likely defer to him when ...

Back in York seeing mates for the first time since the move away and so ended up watching this. Fuck me, York are shite. James Gray is as anonymous as I remember him, the loan keeper Gray found looks like a rabbit in headlights and the same problems of an awful midfield coupled up with booting it up...

Thought that myself but wonder if MG wants one of Parkin ( unlikely on his wages ) or Rankine out of the door? The only rationale I can see is that Rankine is currently out as something abnormal was found in a routine heart scan. Blood pressure related or something. If this was to keep him from pla...

Re: Mark Beck
Still don't understand why Gray is so intent on getting Beck. It's not a reflection on Beck's ability, but he's already got Parkin who is in form and a cult figure at York as well as a capable enough backup in Rankine for the target man role. From what I saw of them last season what York need is a c...

Hardy seems to be the outstanding candidate.
Of the others I wouldn't say no to Ronnie Moore. Been around the block a few times but knows all levels of the game and will have amassed plenty of contacts over the years.

Does this player actually exist then? Or is he just a figment of our imagination?
Or maybe he was so bad we've just repressed him, like I've been trying to do with Ashlee Jones for years.

Only at Darlo. A lad comes to games and brings his own drum to help with support and some fuckstick moans about it. Maybe he should bring a full kit and take requests for the entire match, but then some other fuckstick would complain about the noise. Standing at an England game close enough to hear ...

Mid table and the stand built is pretty much all we can do, no point busting the budget we could be spending on the stand when we can't go up without it anyway. Just keep away from any relegation battle. I would only intervene is Atkinson and Gregan's managment if getting involved in that looked lik...

To be honest I can't see him coming back for too many, Ferguson perhaps?
The problem at York isn't the talent at their disposal it's been a lack of motivation and determination when things aren't going well on the pitch. Something I imagine MG will be able to install much better than Mills.

Having a cup run was one of the targets set by the board so it has to put Gray's future in question Even if he were to be sacked, he's on a long term contact which we'd have to pay up. And even if we were to find the money for that who would we get to replace him who knows the league, will be withi...

There's hardly a rush until the ground improvements are fully funded and completed, as we couldn't go up anyway. It would make sense to just maintain our place in the division away from a relegation battle with any funds available used to ensure that when we're in a position to go up we actually can.

So pretty much as he was at York then, a spare part with a habit of standing still and letting the game pass him by.
On the plus side Fewster does what Fenwick tries (or thinks he tries) to do only much, much better. If this is to free up space for him then it's a no-brainer.

Said before, but have lived in York for the last few years and having a season ticket holding mate I've seen a fair bit of them. Saw Fewster during his loan at York when they were in League Two and he was often the best player on the pitch, admittedly during a poor season but still. He's fast, direct and can finish. Able to nip in behind defenders and get a telling touch, similar to how Fenwick tries to play but much, much be...

Fulltime player with a part time attitude. Easily the best way of describing what I've seen of Brodie. We aren't missing much, trust me. Re: Local clubs released list
Brodie probably realises this his last chance saloon, so I'd expect he'll try and impress this afternoon. If he can't do it against Shildon, then he'll probably struggle to get a contract from us. He had his last chance saloon at York and didn't take it, then he had another on loan at Macclesfield ...
