Re: Funding required for renewal of tinshed board

Love the irony of needing to raise cash to maintain the board that reads 'Our football clubs are for life not just for business'. Almost as sweet as the uncovered sign, being under the tin shed roof. Simple things... All joking aside. It's an excellent effort by those putting in. Every penny ...

Re: Match thread?

I'm going to have naughty thoughts about Ferguson tonight. He's too good for this level. How he didn't get MOM is beyond me. In the current market, he must be worth £30M. Lol. defence still causes palpitations. But last year, this team hit 4 in the same game. So I'm looking St the pluses. I'm not hi...

Re: Match highlights

The whole pitchero think stinks. But i want to ask people about the actual highlights...Were they a true representation of the game? Or were they Salford biased? If that's the case, then it's fine. We know that's been the case for a few seasons now. After all, it is their you tube channel. But my co...

Re: Cartman available for loan

The lad is class. He's got a great touch. He sees things others don't. He's a proper terrier of a forward, chasing everything. And when played in the right formation, a formidable threat. For me, he had his best moments last season, when he came off the bench after 60 mins or so. When the opponents ...

Our coastal cousins...

Following their defeat at Dover yesterday, something occurred to me. Will the chimps ever make it back to the football league? To do so, they'll actually have to win some silverware, either in the form of the winning the league, or the playoffs. Nothing else to add. It just made me smile.

Re: Courting controversy

Last seasons shirt was exceptional. And the season before was great too.

95-96 home an obvious fave amongst many. The 10-11 shirt was really cool. Plus we won something in it.

But my favourite shirt of all time. The 04-05 all black (with white piping) away kit.

So. It looks like we've signed another couple of players. Good ones too by all accounts. Normally I'd be over the moon at such suggestions, but I'm Worried about Mr Gray. Is he actually sticking to the budget he was set? I can't see how. What happens if we don't get a cup run, and come December we'r...

Re: DFCSG Membership Renewals 2017/18

Quakerz; I think it is all membership is now due for renewal. It doesn't matter when you joined. It's only valid for that season, not for your personal rolling calendar year. It clearly states that on the paperwork, and on the membership card too. We don't have the resource to monitor who is due to ...

Re: Fixtures out tomorrow

Wasn't it suggested that our Xmas fixtures were going to be against Bradford. I'm happy with that. It guarantees more larger attendances. Don't care who we have away first. York would awesome though. Preference is that we're away on 26th Aug, and home on the BH Monday. That and a distant away day on...

I've found Syers very hit and miss. When he's on it, he's exceptional. But when he's not, it really shows.

But what about the seats??? 50% more clubs at risk of missing out. Teams finishing 8th and 9th qualifying by default...whatever next? Actually I'm on the fence about this. On one level I think it's a positive move. But there are a number of concerns. This somewhat mirrors the Scottish template (whic...

He used to own the club. And left it for dead. Now I own this club. My dad owns this club. Most of you own this club. We've worked too hard to give it up for a paltry amount. We've raised probably close to £1M to rectify the mess he dumped us in. Sustainability over boom and bust. I don't trust him....

Re: In other news....

In my opinion Jeff Stelling was completely out of order in his actions on Saturday.

He's lucky that he doesn't support a big club. If he was an Arsenal fan and came out with that on live television, he'd be sacked. It was completely unprofessional.

Funny though.

We are where we are due to the hard and thankless work of everyone who has been involved. It's far from perfect, in fact it's a mess. But it's a mess in a place where it can nOw be fixed. Stableising in the same division is not moving backwards. Look at Spenny. Took their time at NL and appear to be...

Re: Other Alternatives

No one mentions the red seats. In the short term, i wonder if it's worthwhile detaching them (they are only screwed into their footings) and moving them forwards towards the pitch. As suggested, it won't count towards ground grading, but it will provide circa 160 extra seating spaces for those who f...

Re: Temp seats at bishop ??

Swans, please stop repeating the same thing about making the tin shed deeper. It can't easily be done. The structure of the roof supports the terrace slabs itself. Th only way you can make it deeper is by casting the horizontal supports. It would be cheaper to rip it down and start again. This threa...

It is possible to build a 5000 capacity ground with 2k seats on the current site, without moving the existing structures, or the pipe...just. Grade B is 250 seats with a capacity of 3000. But there is a condition that to be promoted, or play in the play offs of Step 2. TEMPORARY SEATS DO NOT COUNT.
