Re: Most Expensive Darlington Player
No idea but do we get a kickback on this transfer? Something to do with aiding the development of a player. Pretty sure something like this happened before. Only applies in the case of international transfers, where 5% of fee can be claimed as compensation by clubs the player was at between the age...

Re: Admission prices
Not going to complain about these prices, they aren't out of line with other similar clubs in this division. Happy that the concession price has increased to £10. I don't think a £2 increase will put off those adult fans that pick & choose their games - its not the price that stops them coming more ...

Re: Local clubs released list
It took Syers quite a while to get back to full match fitness, understandable given he had hardly played for the previous 2 years before signing for us. Once he'd done that I thought he was excellent in the last couple of months of the season & would be very pleased if he was still with us next seas...

According to the 1718 prologue thread, Jameson, Burgess and Portas. Of course, it doesn't mean that those who are contracted can't be moved on. Cheers. Just trying to work out the implications of a (as far as we know) ~£50k budget cut (as it stands). Falkingham gone, one of the backup keepers to go...

Re: hang your heads in shame
I completely agree about getting behind Martin Gray and hope he will stay as manager. He's done an excellent job over the past 5 seasons. The fans will do their best to provide him with a competitive budget for next season & the door is always open to other, more suitable, investors. Whatever mistak...

Re: Raj Singh withdraws investment interest
I'm absolutely fucking amazed to be honest, as reading this message board it was abundantly clear that Singh had hatched a plan where he was manoeuvring around all of us and Martin Gray to execute a business plan that was going to make him literally gazillions of pounds. As well as taking over the ...

Re: RS Investment Poll
The current proposal gives the budget a decent boost with no real risk to the club. This seems pretty straightforward to me - he's just buying shares (albeit a big lump) like anyone else can do. It's an easy decision to accept this - however - morally not an easy decision. The biggest and hardest d...

Re: Its here the investment
How much is the club worth? How much would buy 51% all we actually own are the stands and concrete! What assets do we have for our money? He would be investing in something that only one way one can make money youth football? Or Blackwell hotel? Have we forgiven the council for what they did to us?...

Re: RS Investment Poll
For what it is worth, here is my take on RS. 1. I thought anybody could buy shares in DFC as long as it was not more than 15%, so i don't understand why a vote is needed to accept RS money. If I wanted to donate 40,000 to the playing budget would the shareholders need to take a vote on accepting my...

Re: Interesting but confusing regarding ground development
They outlined estimated cost at the forum:
£150k for seats (which I thought was a costed amount)
£300k for terrace (which was an estimate) - to bring ground up to Grade A standard.
We will be eligible for a £150k matched grant from FSIF if we get promotion to National League.

Re: Its here the investment
I'm for the investment - its a no brainer under the current model However, RS is such a divisive character, i can't see us getting 75% of people voting for it Its 75% of shareholders in DFC. DFCSG hold 80% of voting rights in DFC. Statement doesn't say what % of DFCSG members would have to vote YES...

Re: Free insurance bet should the Chokers stay up
They're lucky bastards. They progress towards being a fan-owned club without the turmoil Darlo fans have had to endure and with none of the liabilities or lack of assets. By all accounts they have accumulated substabtial debt over the past couple of seasons, 3 winding up orders in last 12 months, t...

We could get to a FL standard ground without moving the pipe but it would probably involve knocking down the clubhouse.darlo reborn wrote:Even if someone bought the rugby club and land to do anything with it would cost a million just to move the pipe which must be in the way of any development

If Singh owned the football share in his own name, then on what basis were Darlington playing in the Football League / Conference? Darlington apparently did not hold the football share then If Singh owned the share, what was to stop him offering it to another club. I would have expected the law fir...

Remember as well, MG wasn't involved with the club during Raj Singh's reign. He left after Houghton put us in administration. Re: Blackwell Meadows (another theory)
I thought most of the land is leased from the council - the Rugby club own the clubhouse and maybe first team pitch. If someone was after land - why not just buy the Rugby Club. Why wasted £1million per year paying the wages of part-time footballers when you can get control of the land for a club w...

Re: Raj Singh
I've been reminding myself of his actions just before & after he put the club into admin. Remember when Singh paid some, but not all (Kris Taylow & Marc BW I think), of the players in Oct/Nov 2011. The ones he didn't think were value for money. Then Singh wanted to renegotiate player contracts other...

Yep, there's going to be no hybrid, it's going to be one or the other. You can't just say to investors "yep we'd love your money, but we control it completely" which we would do as a majority shareholder. That is cloud cuckoo land. And due to the massive decision that will eventually need to be und...
