Re: Darlington V Chester
Funny you say about the ref having a good game, i thought he was very poor, but for Chester. I thought he gave us much more and apart from the last 5 minutes when he was clearly annoyed with our time wasting, gave them very little. I realise this sounds very weird, but we can’t knock refs for being ...

Re: Guiesley Away
Getting back to the match. It looks like we’ve been done by questionable officials again. I know it’s not a perfect angle, but O’Neill looks onside for our disallowed goal which I thought he was on the day. Rivers is clearly offside and makes a slight movement towards the ball, but I don’t think it’...

Re: Darlo v Kettering
Dos Santos was excellent in the first half, but was poor in the second half. So although I probably wouldn’t have taken him off I could understand why he was, especially when it was a like for like replacement. I do agree O’Neill may have been a better option.

Re: Kidderminster Game
It hasn't felt like it, but they say bad refereeing decisions even themselves out over the season, the disallowed goal seems like we got one back. It'll interesting Lo's take on it because it appears the ref just got it wrong and would have been in more focus if the game had finished 0-0.

Re: Farsley game
If he didn't have a good view of it, which is likely because two bodies were in the way, then the linesman should come into play. Your previous point about the linesman having to look though other defenders isn't valid because he didn't, his view wasn't obstructed. Also if a linesman can't make a de...

Re: Farsley game
After looking at the penalty I go back to my previous statement of what is the point of linesmen. He was on the far side near to where I was stood, but was obviously looking across the line, so had a better angle to view the incident then I did and he still didn't have the bottle to overturn the ref...

Re: Farsley game
For the first 15-20 mins Farsley weren't. We ride our luck and I've no idea how it was still 0-0. We started to get into it more once Hadfield pushed up a bit more, as he was sitting too deep up until that point. Up until he scored, Lambert was a candidate for worst player on the pitch. Just shows w...

Re: Farsley game
I asked two Farsley fans next to us and they were convinced it was a pen as well. My main issue was that Rivers was booked because even if the ref didn't think it was a pen, there was no reason for rivers to dive because he was going round the defender. Im also getting to a point where i think lines...

Re: Darlington V Spennymoor
It wouldn't surprise me if Morley and Johnson saw what Tait did on Boxing Day and told him to dial it down a bit, because other than shouting at his own players, he was quiet for him.

Re: Spennymoor game
Lo it surprised me you didn't think Thommos was anything other than a red. I'm clearly in the minority, but I just thought his foot was off the ground, he went in studs showing and although the force wasn't 100 miles an hour, it looked like he went in with enough speed to warrant a red. I'd be surpr...

Re: Boston V Darlington
I realise that, I should have made it more clear in my post. I just wondered assuming the ref had said that if it made a difference. As it doesn’t the ref probably shouldn’t really have said it because it just means we’re likely to have any appeal dismissed. Although the red seems harsh, is there en...

Re: Boston V Darlington
I think AA said on interview that the ref said Cassidy was sent off because he didn't touch the ball. It looks from the video he does get the ball first. Would what they ref said make a difference in any appeal, or would it purely go down on the lunge/force of the tackle etc?

Re: Darlo v Gloucester
But what you haven’t addressed is Taylor was forcibly told by the referee earlier in the game about the same thing (remonstrating and pointing at the place he should take the kick 3 times). I’ve told you this countless times, but you just ignore that.

Re: Darlo v Gloucester
So a high arm used for leverage which makes contact with an opponents face (I’m assuming you’ve seen both stills) is still a foul, I’m assuming you still agree with that. Again, because you only seem to read certain parts of posts, I’m not saying whether it was a red or yellow, but to give a free ki...

Re: Darlo v Gloucester
Of course placing the ball in the wrong position isn’t an outburst of dissent, but doing it on several occasions when the referee has told you to take the ball back and either refuses to do so, or clearly moving it back a few inches is. If you don’t think that is and as a referee don’t at the very l...

Re: Darlo v Gloucester
Problem is you very rarely trust your OWN fans and going back to the dissent, the ref wasn’t happy with where the ball was placed and told Taylor several times then and on another occasion , but still allowed him to take it. I and others have told you that many times now, but you clearly haven’t lis...

Re: Darlo v Gloucester
I think I’m right in saying you’re a ref? Assuming you are, if a player on a number of occasions doesn’t listen to you and shows dissent through either his words or actions and you had spoken to him before about it, you wouldn’t caution him? I’ll let you watch the highlights as it will show the elbo...

Re: Darlo v Gloucester
Lo just a question on Taylor not taking the free kick from the correct place after the ref asked him twice to do so and Taylor ignoring him and after the the ref had pulled him up earlier in the game, how isn’t it a yellow card for repeated offenses? If it’s not can players then just do what they wa...

Re: Chorley v Darlo
It’ll be interesting what they do next week. I suspect Cooper will come back in, but Storey has played well the last few games. He’s knuckled down after a lot of criticism from within the club when others may have taken a strop. It might go down to whoever is most comfortable playing on the left han...

Re: Darlington V Telford
Talking about stepping up I thought Wheatley was very good yesterday and would have been a MOTM contender if it hadn’t been for Charmans two goals. Was back to his best and it helped It was just him and Hadfield. Nothing against Purver, but him not being there seemed to allow Hadfield and Wheatley m...

Re: Darlo v York
I'm not sure how it could be argued that wasn't a red card. He tackled him on his knee and clearly with enough force for the player to show the ref the stud marks. If similar challenges have gone unpunished then the ref got it wrong, this ref did not.

Re: Darlo v York
I was in the tin shed so quite a long way away, but although there wasn’t much force in the tackle Coopers tackle was very high, looked thigh area. I tried to argue against it at first and I need to see it again, but it I think the red card was fair. Cooper didn’t argue either. It would definitely b...

I would love it if they did. 16 months without without seeing Darlo play and the week before I get the chance, I test positive for Covid so have to self isolate. I realise it's just a friendly, but I'm still disappointed, even though I'll be able to make the Harrogate match.

Re: Local'ish clubs released lists
I wasn't that impressed with Minter in first first few games, but he did get better and he appears to have an abundance of confidence which is essential for a keeper and the defence in front of them. As others have said his distribution isn't very good, better than Saltmers, but that's not saying mu...

Re: 6 players leave
If we want Charman to be that holding forward, he probably needs to gain a bit more strength and compete in the air a bit more. He also needs to get a nastier side, play just on the right side of not getting into trouble with the ref. He does however have the ability in running the line well because...

Re: 6 players leave
Although I don't disagree with people who say we need a speedy and/or touch player up front, but we had that in Campbell last year and against the bigger teams we really struggled. The type of player we need the most is someone with a stronger presence up front. Someone who can hold the ball up and ...
