Re: Kokolo
For me, henshall is the only real disappointment, the others look like they could do a decent job, the problem TW has is that at this level it's much harder to ship out the mistakes, MG would get people in then get them out just as quick if they didn't work out, which is easier at the levels below ...

Re: Darlington V Nuneaton
Surely they are backing him by not sacking him To some degree yes, however the sale of Styche and Syers didn't just come out of the blue, they obviously must have been in the pipeline for weeks, so why were no other players brought in? Loans or whatever. I understand that T.W. has messed up but yes...

Re: TW Post match interview
What sounds better to another prospective job I left because things were not working out I was sacked because things were not working out I'd say in football management they'd almost prefer you were sacked, most realise that's almost always the way it ends for managers, walking out because it got d...

Re: Kokolo
It seems Tommy put a large amount of faith in to the dynamic Ainge/Styche partnership that worked only once! Get a nimble team of half decent footballers and get the ball up to Ainge and Styche - job sorted. In fairness so did most fans. Truth be told I'm not too bothered about TW staying or going,...

Re: Darlington V Nuneaton
we might have to consolidate in the NPL for the time being. Heartbreaking - and probably correct. This is the effect of our decade of terrible ownership. We've gone from a (pretty rubbish) football league side, to a club which likely can only exist as a 7th division part time side in a region...

Re: TW Post match interview
"I'm beyond listening." That's good to know. In the position he is in a bit of humility might be more appropriate. Obviously not going for the sympathy vote. Why would he, if he doesn't believe he can get it right then he chose the wrong career. Even when things aren't going well a manager has to b...

Re: Harvey Saunders
Just saw that and thought the same. Seems strange that we would give him a pay rise substantial enough for him to quit the day job. He's not going to be training full time and you wouldn't think we'd be paying him to take on any coaching, even in the academy, at this stage in his career. From Faceb...

Wasn't our average less than 1500 last year?theoriginalfatcat wrote:I'm sure I remember reading that the crowd predictions were sensible. 1400 to 1500 I think.
Surely history would say go lower than the previous season and use extra to bolster later?

I know we clamour for updates sometimes, but honestly, when the Twitter says "the club are now in a position to announce this" and it links to us saying "Defender Dom Collins has today left the club -- we would like to thank him for his 18 months of service and wish him well for the future" I wish w...

Re: Dave Syers gone
Syres I felt was our best player. Covered virtually every blade of grass against Telford and still looked the most dangerous player. Some one mentioned that Alan W had a go at him during the match and he responded back so may be he has just had enough of being on the bench and clearly not appreciat...

Re: Resignation...
You obviously have missed the point. Where have I said that Wright’s actions were acceptable? It’s a fact that this type of thing happens in football. You seem to imply Grays move wasn’t as bad but long term we had the treble whammy of no compensation, losing the first choice replacements in Atkins...

Re: Resignation...
I accept that Gray behaved badly and everybody says what a nice guy TW is but I think he's harming the club more than MG ever did. MG was a selfish, oafish individual who turned out winning Quakers teams - a flawed but effective football manager. I can't see him coming back yet but I wonder if the ...

Re: Resignation...
When does TWs contract end, is it the end of the season? Personally I would like to give Alan White a go, I have always been concerned the fact TW does not live here and that’s been reflected in his signings and I think that’s why there is a lack of spirit because there are not enough local lads in...

Re: Darlington v Hereford
And hopefully we'll not give out lengthy contracts. We used to have probationary periods at work and then permanent job offers if you were up to it?! That also goes the other way though; if you only give out short contracts and someone looks very good, at our level, chances are you lose them for ne...

Re: This Time Last Year
Unfortunately we don't have Styche now so we need to get behind Ainge as he's the main man now. I still think he will come good. He is the type of striker who can get his fair share of goals but is also someone who a nippy striker can form a partnership with. Let's see how it develops (we have no c...

Re: This Time Last Year
I always try and judge a forward by how much I would relish / dread playing against him as a defender. Styche was a monumental shithouse, niggled at defenders but then had the ability to create space and smash the fucker in. That goal at Spenny last season man! Ainge or anyone else in the squad can...

Only when I challenged loan_star did all of a sudden this ex-Darlo player become a fully qualified coach who's worked with them. Had he said that straight away, it would have carried more weight because it's relevant expertise. Yes I clarified it for you more or less straight away but that wasn't g...

Interesting that the Boro fans thought we played some nice stuff and enjoyed it. I brought along my brother who hasn't seen us since the early days at the arena and he said the same on the way out. Maybe we as fans are still spoilt from 3 promotions in the last 5 years and still expect to turn up a...

Craig Morley has asked me to let you all know that we have been given permission to fly a flag from one of the flag poles outside the ground on match days. Also to help build up an atmosphere the ball boys will make a line of flags for when the players come out for the match. The club also would li...

They are people who are already in the squad I`m on about getting loan people instead of kids to give more options The point is you won't get anyone on loan to sit on the bench, not a game changer anyway, and if you get someone to go straight into the side you are devaluing our current players (ok ...

To have better options from the bench if we need to change things and also give other people a rest when we have a few games in quick succesion But we whinge when vaulks didn't get a game when on loan, so who do we expect to get on loan to sit on the bench? Alternatively why gamble on a player that...

Shawry - If (as it seems) Harvey is getting promoted to playing every week, then at the minimum we need to find a replacement for the space he's left. Only two strikers is just asking for problems - as a toothless team simply won't function - see last season post Beck pre Styche or back at the Aren...

Re: Vaulks goes on loan to Pickering
As long as we have a recall option in case of injuries, I guess it’s ok. I’d like to see some loans coming in, rather than going out. Our bench has been a joke lately. Will be interesting to see who is on the bench, they seem to put academy players on their these days, and given that we have two ga...
