Re: The truth
Worst defeat in 37 years and nothing from the club...nothing. There was a post match interview with our manager in which he apologised to supporters. What else are we meant to do? If you’re after more communication there’s a fans forum in 48 hours. The worst Darlington result since 1987, that’s som...

Re: Gowling MUST go!
I'm only guessing but I don't think it will cost a lot to get rid of JG - I think he will be on a monthly contract as we are still paying for AA - which is one of the reasons why he was given the job in the first place - it was his opportunity to impress while we pay the remainder of AA's contract. ...

Re: Gowling MUST go!
Pinning our hopes on a striker that’s not played since April is not good. For me the squad and team is fractured they are not playing for each other. There is zero team spirit and without that you can talk all you want about tactics but if there is no fight then you will achieve nothing. We knew the...

Sounds like we started the game very poorly even before the red we conceded, why did we not start off on the front foot. What is wrong with these players?

Re: Chorley
For me Nelson should be the next out the door, he's never shown any kind of form with us since he has been back. I know its harsh, but we have got to think of the club and survival.

Re: Darlo v Chester
I've just listened to the JG interview and he sounds like a beaten man. Lets face it, it's been an awful start to his reign, he's not been able to turn it around. We desperately need a new striker, and nothing has happened this week which is deeply frustrating. A few weeks ago there was talk of a mi...

Reality
Under Tommy Wright's reign we flirted with relegation a little bit but I thought we had the players to get us enough points. Guys, the reality is, we have one foot in the next division already. I cannot see us getting out of this. We do not have goals in our team, midfield and attack. We need to hav...

Re: Current Squad Size
It has the potential to become very messy as Taylor, Lees, Sukar & Nelson have all been offered to other clubs. Surely he has to back himself to improve the players we have. He hasn't even tried. Personally, I think it is too late with some of the players, some of the players will have the hump wit...

Or have we gone with the only appointment we can afford?? Given that we are still paying AA wages - maybe DJ went with the most cost effective option.

Re: Dreadful
I’ve always tried to not to knee jerk and have always backed DJ. But this is appalling. When AA did leave (and he had to go- we can debate when he should have another time) fan morale was rock bottom. Well if anything it’s even lower now. I know this is Football and fortunes can change quite quickl...

Re: GOWLING OUT
DJ said he thought about letting Alun go in the summer, clearly that would have been the right decision. If he had doubts over Alun it was clear it was time up for Alun, but he let him spend the BTB money. From then it’s been a complete disaster. I think Gowling will be on a monthly rolling contract...

Re: Darlington V Blyth
Burton and Lawler look a good partnership - Burton looks like he has plenty of pace which has been missing from our defenders. Clearly Blyth were the better footballing side however they offered very little up front just like us. We are in desperate need of a striker that's either big and strong or ...

A new manager coming in wants to do it his way, a think a lot of the current squad are heading for the exit door - 3 wins in 28 tells me that ain't a bad thing.

Questions from the Board Update
Having been late to listen to this - I have a few questions - which have emerged from the board update: - Who are these mystery investors? One seems to be credible - at what point do the fans get to know about it - I appreciate most of them are time wasters. - How long is Gowling's contract? - for m...

Re: Hannah returns to Boro
The goal we conceded after 14 seconds against Kings Lynn was down Hannah's side - clearly he was culpable for that one. I expect reinforcements this week. Like everyone has said the goalkeeping situation wasn't too much of a concern, we need another defender, a striker and a midfielder to help Hatfi...

Re: Tamworth V Darlington
I have lost count of how many times I have worked with people over the years who have had a good CV (OK Gowling's CV would not be great - granted), can talk the talk at the interview but when it came to the job did not perform. I would hope DJ is experienced enough to see through it. However, for me...

Re: Jim Provett
As a part time club who train two nights a week do we even need a fitness and goalkeeper coach? To me they seem like luxuries. Taylor is or was a youth goalkeeper coach so in theory he could lead sessions. Likewise Gowling and Rose can surely take on fitness sessions. I’d much rather those funds we...

Heard the rumour on facebook. Apparently he only comes up once a week to train. I suppose it makes sense, lets be honest he hasn't pulled up many trees since he has been here and we need to free funds for a forward.

Re: Season 23/24
I think its important that we get to the first round of the FA cup - this could save our season in terms of being able to bring in fresh legs. We need a striker with mobility to play with Nelson. I don't think it has to be someone huge, look at the striker Gloucester had, he was small in height, but...

Re: Darlington V Gloucester
I had a peek at the highlights. A possible offside for their goal? Meanwhile our penalty - it comes out of the goal mouth, hits the keeper, then goes back in again! In Alan Partridge world this is "GOAL, AND ANOTHER ONE" :) That is the ultimate insult for a goalkeeper, he nearly saves the Pen, the ...

Re: Josh Gowling...
Just listened to the interview that Darlo have put out this morning with Stu - seems like we have a young modern manager who is data driven, this looks like the way to go - the ultimate example is Brighton. It is up for debate whether it works at this level and with being part time. Another interest...

Tommy Miller is no for me, he has been one of the most well known Poolie players of the last twenty years. However, we don't have you go down the "he's played for Darlo" route either.

Re: Danny is leaving ☹️
The major issue is finding someone who is committed as Danny. Its a part time job with part time pay that probably takes full time hours. We will need to find a physio that's as committed as him and willing to do the long hours, with the carrot at the end of it that you might get a full time job lik...

Coincidence? But he has just resigned as Gainsborough Trinity manger. Got them to the playoffs last season playing attacking football. In my opinion we need someone who knows the non league scene and can unearth some gems. We have already seen with Harvey Barnes, he was picked up from the lower leag...
