Re: Darlo v Warrington Match Thread
In a way would not winning tonight not be the end of the world? Even though most of us have come to terms with the fact Salford wont slip up and it's gone, that looming chance on the last day will inevitably lead to some sense of deflation when the inevitable happens and Salford absolutely batter Os...

Re: Do we rest players at Warrington?
We played this game last year and it was no coincidence we conceded 2 goals in the first quarter of an hour when the big playoff game came around. We have a strong, fit squad. If daft injuries happen, they happen. Every team has to cope with them and we can't live in fear of them. The league is stil...

Re: Scarborough v Darlington in 60 seconds
Wow, I've never seen a more obvious case of a referee bottling a penalty! He was looking right at it, whistle in the mouth, inhaled the breath with which to blow for it, raised his arm to point, then at the last micro second shits himself and waves it away! Fortunately it didn't matter! Love the fac...

Re: Darlo v Droylsden Match thread
First half was the most lethal we've looked all season! Absolutely pulverized Droylsden. It could have conceivably been 7 or 8 before the break. They were what you'd expect from their goal difference, fast and dangerous going forward but hopeless at the back. Cartman missed an open goal in the first...

Delighted with that result! Sounded like the performance had everything that was missing when we played them at home! Good football first half, hard work and battling second half! Sounded like a lot of character and passion was on the pitch tonight. 6 more like that please!

Re: Updates from today's games
Erm, a postponement isn't a loss! this gives us a nice rest before Tuesday which is preferable in my opinion. It's tough, but no tougher than it already was with our run in vs theirs.theoriginalfatcat wrote:Play offs it is !

Re: Mitchell/White
While I agree our discipline and reaction to the situation at Salford was unprofessional and you can't go losing your rag the way we did, it would be unfair to ignore the fact the referee showed bribery levels of bias in favour of Salford in that game. Not saying that's what happened, but for reason...

Re: Darlo v Northwich Match Thread
Can't disagree with the tactical ineptitude when plan A doesn't reap any rewards, but our bottle has well and truly gone as well. That was such a gutless rolling over, we let them park the bus and see the game out from minute 2 after the comedy goal, showed no fight. Awful to see. 7 or 8 totally wen...

Re: Match Thread v Bamber Bridge
Really good performance today. Bamber Bridge are one of the better sides in the league and are clearly capable of playing good football. We took everything away from them, won every major battle and seemed to want everything that bit more. We were unlucky to concede, Bamber took advantage of a massi...

It wont be worth the inevitable hassle of keeping him in check for the sake of at best an ordinary player at Football League level. If he had tremendous talent to work with then fair enough, he doesn't though. He's decent, no more.

Re: DARLO vs TEAMS IN THE CURRENT PREMIER LEAGUE
Not a cup game but my favourite Hull memory was them battering us for 90 minutes in the last ever game at their old ground, us nicking a goal against the run of play just before half time and them being somehow unable to score any of the 400 clear cut chances they had! Michael Ingham had a stormer o...

Even after Admin changed the course of that season, if you gave us back the 10 points it cost us we'd have still comfortably made the playoffs that season.

Re: Arsenal fans behind the goal?
Agree with the general sentiment, he didn't have a good game, happens to plenty of players, and he wasn't exactly a total liability. Got into so good positions, made some good tackles, and had some decent touches, his passing was well off the mark and he missed a couple of fairly good chances, was f...

Re: Darlo v Radcliffe Borough Match Thread
It's one of those games you can look at either as a glass half full or glass half empty. Yes, we are clearly a better side than them, dominated much of the game after the horrific start and likely would have won had we not made said terrible start and forced ourselves to get a bit desperate and leav...

Re: Darlo v Radcliffe Borough Match Thread
So close to winning it twice at the end, Armstrong header inches wide and a deflected Thompson shot smacked the post. We battered them for the entire second half but there were a couple of scares when we were pushing forward for the equalizer and got caught on the break when Jameson saved us. One of...

Re: Darlo v Clitheroe - Sat 22nd November
It was a very average performance from Darlington,Clitheroe played played Avery fast game ,would say a draw was about right. Other than a clear penalty don't know what Lindsey Robinson saw but it was right in front of her she was not strong enough today, however as I said a draw about right. I thoug...

Re: Darlo v Clitheroe - Sat 22nd November
I was right next to it, was a blatant penalty. Tommo didn't help himself with throwing his arms up, but he was clipped by a lunging foot. The ref giving the corner shows she's made a howler, the defender wasn't even close to touching the ball.

Neil Maddison and Phil Stamp were long time Boro fringe players in the top flight. Alun Armstrong was well known at the time too.

I remember Clark Keltie scoring a peach of a volley late on to win the game at Scunthorpe after we'd been battered for the preceding 89 minutes! The game was meaningless as we were practically safe of relegation but nowhere close to playoff contention, but the celebration was brilliant and it was a ...

If things stay as they are we'll be top outright, irrespective of games in hand wont we? Someone has put a Ferrari engine in the steamroller since the end of September! Salford could draw level if they win their games in hand, but our goal difference is vastly superior. All we have to do is draw at...

Re: Darlo v Spenny
Just seen the highlights, and on the balance of it I think us nicking it by a goal was about right, though it looked like it could have been 4-3 as opposed to 1-0! I thought a yellow was fair for the Mitchell foul from that angle, the two covering defenders were close enough where you could fairly c...

Couldn't make the game tonight but chuffed to bits with the result! Sounds like a really tough game, the sort we'd have probably lost in September. Those hard fought games where you really have to dig in and grind out a result can end up as the difference between 1st and 2nd. We're on a great run an...

Re: Darlington v Padiham
Brown's distribution is atrocious if we're being honest, but defensively he's mostly very reliable in 2 positions. Players like that are important at this level. Be nice if Gray would have a word, tell him he's never going to be David Beckham, and just to look for the simple ball now and again, but ...
