Re: Kings Lynn v Darlington 6/01/24

Very positive day at the office. Clean sheet and three points on the road. Do it again against Southport on Tuesday and we’re back in the pack with games in hand on Southport and Banbury both of who are below us in the form table atm. Wasn’t a game of lots of chances, but most pleasingly we were co...

Think Asante started to show glimpses of a decent centre forward if a touch slower than he was. Might get sharper with game time.
Looked a bit ineffective during the game. But in the build up to the goal he was instrumental at holding up the ball and playing the ideal pass to set up the assist

Watched the game on a stream.

Tough game - but….we battled, had a shape about us and our goal was well worked and taken.

Hopefully the start of momentum and self belief.

Re: New Assistant Manager

Feels Like Gowling was possibly the right man but very much at the wrong time - an experiment to try when a team isn't in freefall. DJ has taken action and the two appointments have a very solid feel about it. Hoping Steve W keeps it simple for the players. Heard on the radio yesterday that the birm...

Re: Gloucester (A)

How did Asante look / do? Did all right, lasted nearly whole game. was able to hold the ball up . When he is fully match fit will be a real handful and we saw glimpses of how he can spin and turn defenders. Williams as well when he came on looked a good signing albeit for only a month. Lindley grew...

Re: Darlington V Rushall

Beyond me why we let Hazel go knowing Asante was miles away and Nelson missing. Basically left us with no recognised available forward in the club for 2 massive games. The guy, like him or not, keeps making ridiculous decisions. Worst case, at least in this weeks interviews give us some background ...

Gutted to concede such a late equaliser - especially after chances to put the game to bed.

Hopefully the team can take the positives into the next match.

Re: Chorley

Such a contrast from last Saturday's game where the players did everything you'd hope for. I wonder if Gowling's main (only?) ethos / style of play is too quirky for a struggling team? Last night an extreme situation, but at 1-0 down with a man off, you change your principles and line up with 4-5-0....

Re: Darlo v Chester

First time watching Darlo in the flesh in many many years. Delighted with the win and thought our 2nd and 3rd goals were quality. My main takeaways from today were that we looked solid. Lawlor and Burton seem a good partnership. Ngandu covered a lot of ground - not spectacular as such but suspect he...

Trash is maybe a strong word. But I don’t think he gives an additional value to the squad. He didn’t play first half of season (when we were playing well) and featured in a lacklustre and out of ideas Darlo. He is took weak on the ball and is considerable slow considering his size and he wouldn’t g...

Re: Boost the Budget

Thing is we own our own club, holding money back because we don’t like the manager or whatever is just typical Raj Singh behavior. If we want to compete we pay what we can afford and let people who have the time to volunteer to run the club make the big decisions. I’d never hold money back just bec...
