Re: Arena Sports Village

I saw the other day Scarborough are putting in a new stand at their new place, and they're letting people vote for their preferred writing on the seats when they donate (Boro, SAFC or Seadogs). Wonder if we could do the same in future. It'd be nice to get DFC in black lettering on the seats. We're ...

Re: Dave Syers gone

I'm curious about 'boost the budget'.... it was sold to make us more competitive and push up the league, no? Well, if we've done that, and we've the smallest squad in the division... Either some of our players are being paid far too much, or this club will cease to be able to compete at this level ...

Re: Arena Sports Village

I heard on the grapevine that Northumbrian Water aren't adverse to building over the pipe as long as its encased in a void so they can get access should the worst happen. This might make it more viable to develop BM although you would still have the rugby run off a few people don't like. I know its...

Re: New Blood

Surely spenny or York must have a couple of spare bodies with a bit of experience? But we'd have to cover a portion of their wages. With using Boro, Sunderland, Newcastle it's likely that they'll cover most if not all the wage Is there a rule that says clubs have to cover X% of a player's wage whil...

Re: Arena Sports Village

There was talk of a clubhouse and 4G pitch, but then the council have allowed 4G pitches to be built at the Village as well, effectively scuppering our main income source before it begins. The building of the 4G pitch and clubhouse is crucial here. DJ stated in the NetCafe in May that he wants the ...

Re: Tommy's interview - seething

I can't believe all of this hysteria about players missing training sessions. We're a part-time club... what do you expect? If we were a professional club in League Two and players were skipping training then it's perfectly fair to say that the manager has lost control, but in this instance I think...

My understanding of the sporting hub is that it will be a joint venture between council and rugby club with both parties hoping for some sustainable income from it going forward. The rugby club have the land and existing facilities and the council have access to investment to support the building o...

Re: Arena Sports Village

I really am baffled as to why the council want to chuck money at this project for mowden. I don't get it at all. Don't forget, freeing up the site generates a lot of housing stock. The stadium site is only about 30% or so of the total area under discussion here. Also, if the initial plans that were...

Re: Resignation...

At the moment I believe the club is pretty rudderless with no real plan or strategy of where we want to go and how we get there, apart from the oft trotted out “aspiration of getting back into the league”. The sporting village seems to be the thing that has been hung onto for the last 12 months or ...

Nope, and it would also involve us playing at the Arena - which I personally wouldn't mind, but many would be against it. Cos BM is so much better isn't it. I'd go back to the arena tomorrow... I'm not so sure it was as straightforward as Hardy didnt want the job last time. Was an approach made to his club? Everything was clouded over with TW's infamous U turn. I noticed that TW passed a milestone in this last game against Hereford. He has now been in charge for more than a full season of games. His league record since taking over the reins in the game against Blyth in October last year is: Played 43, Won 13, a win ratio of 30.2%. This season we have won ...
