Re: Darlington V Chester
Stability comes at a cost, this season has not panned out for a number of reasons we all know what they are, we must regroup and come at it with renewed zest, and vitality next season either with or without Tommy, Having said that I think Tommy should get 8 /10 games next season to see if he's lear...

Re: Spenny Bottle
Nothing to do with bottle, Spennymoor were beaten by a better side on the night. At the end of the season the league table presents a true picture of how sides have performed No complaints. I am prepared to admit we didn't deserve to win. As for comments about the size of the crowd...Spennymoor get...

Re: Steve Watson - new York manager
Gateshead are doing remarkably well in spite of the clear and obvious problems off the field. Have to say fair play to them. I'm sure Pears is no doubt helping them a great deal. Guy's capable of playing way up the ladder. If it goes tits up at Gateshead I wonder if Clark could be tempted by our jo...

This could be really good news. Maddison - I don't think I've ever felt as nervous about any goal keeper. Hold my beer...... The year is 2009. It's December Ashlee Jones takes to the pitch in a Darlington shirt pretending to be a goal keeper in a dreadful 4-0 defeat. https://media.gettyimages.com/p...

Re: B T B Email
Completely agree. Comments on here about board members resigning etc if ever we move away from being fan owned seems very short sighted. We have clearly reached our level as a fan owned club and if anything are struggling to maintain where we even are now, which let’s be honest is a relegation batt...

I am also committing to maintaining my pledge. Withdrawing your funding, therefore impacting the club's finances, because you don't like a manager is Raj Singh behaviour. As I've said previously, BTB may require a re-brand so the touchy amongst the fan base don't associate it with guaranteed success...

he should be in the heart of the midfield but somehow the club is a soft touch and let him get so unfit he is not usable in his correct position. Soft touch? The bloke has suffered with serious mental illness for an extended period of time and the club rightly have tried to help him sort this. Your...

our team isnt playing with the intensity required because they arent fit enough. They should be playing like Harvey Saunders level of intensity. Liam Hughes has had his issues but he should not be allowed to turn up to pre season with a belly like that and should be told to shift it in X weeks or h...

Re: Hartlepool match confirmed at BM
The reality is we signed a lot of technically decent players but not enough players capable of leading a side or happy to battle for points. Players like Nicholson and Thompson would flourish with a midfielder breaking up the play behind them and doing their dirty work. Yep - I actually don't think...

Re: Hartlepool match confirmed at BM
Burn's errors cost us last night, no doubt about it. Aside from this we were comfortable and should have been out of sight by the time they equalised. However, it is yet another lead we have surrendered this season. The lack of leaders in the team is obvious and under pressure we fold. If we go behi...

Re: Luke Trotman
He's our only recognised right back, so there would be a clear impact, especially with our ability to bring in new players expected to be limited to unproven loan signings. This on top of a wafer thin squad, which doesn't appear to have anybody who could fill the role effectively. Of course, any sa...

Think York took 2 additional loans in the week before those 3 loans so 5 overall, (advantage of having an owner with money I suppose, although there fans not happy with him to be honest. Going to watch York on Tuesday to get a reality check). I was thinking of the team I would play in current posit...

Hughes is more than capable of being a holding midfielder. His weight is a slight concern however he looks technically superb. Extremely good finish for the third goal too.

I bet Darlington whish they had owners like the bennots, who have at least tried and are like Steve Gibson into the fact they are fans. Not a good situation but as Richard bennots said in a interview he could have folded the club and walked away and who could have blamed him. His continued involvem...

Re: Season Ticket Sales 2018/19
With the 500 club and the early bird sales we currently have not too shy of 800 season ticket holders for next season. Next big push should be to hit the 1,000 mark. Be a huge achievement to hit the number after three administrations, being demoted down to Step 9 and having played out of town for 4...

Absolutely insane getting into bed with him. Stumping up a significant amount of cash, for a minority share to fund a bloke who only protects his own interests. You can imagine if they have a poor run of form and crowds drop, Singh will inevitably start issuing statements about how he can't sustain ...

Re: Extra security measures for Gray on Saturday.
Yes I didn't like the way Gray left and how he somehow thought he was God at the club but I would hope a majority of fans would give him a clap when they see him. He did get us close to where we want to be - and now I think we all agree that we need to take stock of where we are in readiness for a ...

Definitely the better idea to hold a netcafe as an alternative to the forum, after the debacle created by the behaviour of our former manager and his select mob in May. Hopefully we can obtain clear information on this occasion.

Re: Darlington FC V Leamington Match Thread
I think our style of play is part of why crowds are dropping. While long ball style has been successful in the past it's not pretty to watch. We have got away with it so far because we have been winning the majority of our matches. Now we have been found out by more organised teams who do their res...

The board have dropped a bollock. Mistakes happen. Will we be in any greater position if they resign? I doubt it. They all appear on paper to have the right skill sets for the position from what I can see. The one thing missing - experience of running a football club. Have we anyone out there eager...

Apologies for bumping this from 7 years ago, but a Facebook status of mine popped up and reminded me that 7 years ago Noel Whelans dodgy hamstrings provided much needed laughter . Expansion of the ground is going to be necessary in line with the club's ambitions, realistically. The pipe remains a major issue in respect to this. I'd be interested to see what future plans are as I expect it will raise itself as an issue in the not too distant future. Maybe worth a question at t...
