Re: Darlington V Chester
Delighted to see Mondal return and score . He has played at a higher level so let’s hope it’s the start of something for him . Wonder if we can utilise his pace as a central striker better than out wide.

Re: Guiesley Away
In a way it's hard to know what is reasonable to expect of a Darlo manager in this division. In my mind Darlo should be a league team so it's really hard to accept that the level we are at is as far as the current structure and budget can take us . . but maybe it is. Certainly each season there are ...

That was such a fun away day . The weird thing is it started like our past defeats against Farsley with them getting in our faces and being on top and then we erm we won 6-0 . Could easily have been 8 or 9 as well .

Just listened to Armstrong’s interview. I don’t think a manager should call out individuals quite so harshly. Can’t see how it helps and it feels like he is trying to disown his own team.

Looking at the squad now 13 out of 19 are new signings with just six players retained. Quite amazing really. Can't expect all of these recruits to come off but its quite exciting I think to see such a new look team.

Re: Reminder Fans Forum tonight
Campbell was very good for us. And I don't think 4-3-3 suited him that well. Would have said he was the 3rd best player on our books last season behind Hatfield and Sousa.
That being said I also agree with those saying that Nelson could potentially be a better player.

Re: Andrew Nelson signs
This is potentially a fantastic signing. Without his injury we would have had little chance of him being here. They might take a while but Nelson and Charman could be great for us if we can keep hold of them. Now will just get back to refreshing social media every 15 mins waiting for a centre back o...

Re: Darlington V Sunderland
I am actually a little bit upbeat about this season. Last season I felt less optimistic than the general mood on here but this season weirdly it seems it's the other way around. I think most if not all of the new signings look good or promising or give us something we didn't have. And I would expect...

I wonder from Armstrong's comments whether we might start playing with two strikers. Talks about him being a good foil for a strike partner, doing the ugly physical stuff etc.

I'd sign him. I'd also like to see us try two central strikers. I probably sound like a dinosaur but quite often it seemed like we struggled to break teams down at home with two wide men and a single striker.

Sousa for me. Goals and assists all the time. Yes he tries stuff that doesn't come off and I can see why people might be frustrated by his decision making but I think he has looked our best player by some distance.

Re: Stevie Mardenborough scores winner at Anfield
In his final season for Darlo when he played as a striker I think he was brilliant to watch. Remember away wins at Shrewsbury and Scarborough when he looked unplayable. And then we sold him for next to nothing. I think he is a really underrated Darlo player . . Hence my username.

Fittingly god awful end to the season at home. Almost every performance I enjoyed this year was away from Blackwell Meadows . Ref was really terrible but at the same time I'm not sure we deserved anything today.

Re: Home Kit Vote
I would like a change from hoops but from these four I think the kind of hooped one is maybe the least bad. 3 is also Ok I guess.
4 is horrible and 2 if chosen would overtake the 96-97 soccerdome kit as the biggest pile of s**te Darlo have ever been seen in.

Re: Spennymoor Boxing Day
Difficult conditions. Thought we looked a bit better than we have in other home games. But still not sold that we have the attacking players for the formation we are playing. Hatfield looked at it. That is deffo our best midfield three if we are going to play 4-3-3 and also we have missed Liddle.

Re: Diego Maradona
In nearly 40 years watching football I have not seen a player dominate a world cup or ignite and inspire a city like Maradona did in Mexico and Naples. I can't think of anyone who comes close to him in terms of what he could do on a pitch or the impact off it. If I was older I might be saying Pele o...

Re: Away to Bristol rovers
Great shout from Makka Pakka. Four wins in the FA Cup is a great effort. As for the league I would like to see us try two up front in home games. I know 4-4-2 is unfashionable these days but have seen four homes where we have a lot of the ball and yet don't look like we are going to come out on top ...

Great cup run. Horrible afternoon but perhaps one game too far. Got to start winning league matches at home now. But as for the above posts I think people are absolutely right to question the selection. We lost 6-0 for heaven's sake.

I think what is most worrying is that in all four home games we haven't looked like turning it around. They are not freak results. We moved the ball about nicely at times and we have some good footballers in the squad no doubt but these four performances taken as a whole are terrible. It has not bee...

Great win. They looked sluggish all over the pitch and you could tell we had played more games. Wheatley and Hatfield first class. That is definitely our best midfield three but I guess we probably knew that already. I also love Sousa. Always looks like making something happen and a superb assist an...

Three points out of 15 then. Home games are obviously different in Covid times but bloody hell that was a hard watch and a long and very different season in front of us. Sousa was good and I thought Campbell was alright first half. Good to see Hatfield back playing and erm . . that's it
