Re: Darlington v Farsley 13/04/24
We’ve had a few 3-1 wins under Watson. I haven’t done my research, but I’d guess that was the most regular scoreline since he took over. Off the top of my head I can think of 4...plus two 4-0s. It's not just the fact that we've won so many since the dead and buried point (Alfreton home), it's the m...

Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Apr 06th 2024
Fair enough. Disagree though, they’re absolute cack and I’m not arrogant in saying that. No I agree they were probably the worst team to visit BM this season. I just don’t dare take anything for granted where Darlington FC are concerned. There's been a fair few teams just as bad if not worse this s...

Re: Looks like they're staying...
With the exception of a few, these players were never poor, or any of the other derogatory remarks they were called mid-season. They were badly let down during the season by terrible management & recruitment. To be honest with you, when you were saying this isn't a bad squad of players in mid seaso...

Re: Darlington v Farsley 13/04/24
To be honest, although I was disappointed that Farsley got one back I wasn't too nervous. When they announced 6 minutes additional time and everyone gasped "how is it 6 minutes?" I simply said "6 extra minutes for us to get a 3rd", which we duly and predictably did, after scoring loads of late goals...

Re: So who do you want to be relegated Blyth or Farsley>
I guess most people on here would prefer Blyth to stay up. But personally I think Farsley would be far less of a threat next season and I think Blyth could offer a lot more competition for players in this region, especially if they get this new investor on board. Read the room Pete. I honestly don'...

Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Apr 13th 2024, Staying Up Edition
It's actually P 21 W 12 L 9. You're doing him over there like. What makes it all the more unbelievable is his first 7 matches was W 2 L 5, and one or two numpties were questioning what had actually improved (the football was already miles better despite the results) Since then we've won 10 of our la...

https://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/national-league-north/league-table/date/20240101 We were 8 adrift on New Year's Day Mikky, is Football Web pages a site where you can load up historic league tables by date? Well yeah, just go on the page that Mikky linked and play around with the seasons and dates.

Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Apr 06th 2024
That's it, Farsley lose.
Beat them on Saturday and we are guaranteed safety, it's now that simple. No doubt the match won't be as simple, but it's in our hands now.

Yeah Banbury, Blyth and Farsley have fallen apart over the last 2-3 months. Happens every year in every league.

Re: When Watson and Mitchell took over…
https://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/national-league-north/league-table/date/20240210 10th February - 9 points adrift of 20th, 16 points behind Farsley and 17 points behind Blyth... That was the low for me...anti-footballed to death by Alfreton and it was at this point exactly that I threw the towel i...

Re: When Watson and Mitchell took over…
Without looking to check (if there is anywhere to check) I think it was about 5 points but at some point it was up to 8 or even 10 points because we did only win 2 of their first 7!

Yes, we really set out expecting Blyth to outplay us.
Cringeworthy, looking back, at how fraudulent a manager Howling really was.

I don't think anyone has ever gone down with 55 points at this level or any of the 46 match playing levels above - though I stand to be corrected.

Re: GOWLING OUT
Does the next manager get 6 games if we don't improve under him immediately? We becoming a club ran by the lynch mob? Fucking exactly. Lately, this forum has become joke. What a great fanbase we have. 97 pontificating like some wise old sage because he’s subscribed to a monthly football stats packa...

Re: Massive credit to Watson and the board
I take nothing for granted. Not long ago some on here were asserting that 50 points would guarantee safety. Well look where we are now with 52 points and not yet safe. I don't recall a single person asserting that 50 points would guarantee safety? Although 50 is normally considered the magic number...

Re: Games that matter to us - end of season
Looking at Tuesday's fixtures all we need is for Farsley to fail to beat Peterborough and the other two results wouldn't even matter to us. Because we play Farsley next, if they don't win on Tuesday, then us doing the business on them (not a foregone conclusion I know) would guarantee us mathematica...

Re: Massive credit to Watson and the board
‘Almost certainly’ I’m missing something here. You're almost certainly missing the fact that we're almost certainly staying up. Good lord man, it’s Darlo. Have you gone mad? Is this based on an assumption Blyth will lose twice? (Agree it’s toughest for them but it is not a done deal!) I’ll rest whe...

Re: Darlington V Southport
We have to keep winning our own games to make sure we're safe, to many scenarios to guess. Just win and it doesn't matter what others do. The team are working for eachother to secure our NLN PLACE. . I've been saying for about the last 10 matches that all we need to do is keep winning and forget th...

Re: Darlington V Southport
Wish Rushall would just F off. Ridiculous the run we have put together and it’s still all to play for. Win next week and I hope we can breathe easier. Would’ve preferred Blyth or Farsley stop up. Obviously not at our expense, worried about that first and foremost. You hope we can breathe easier? Co...

Re: Darlington V Southport
Have any of SW 4 signings had a bad game yet.!.? Difficult to say who has had most impact but all 4 were excellent again today. If I had to choose one I reckon it would be Young, just ahead of Main. The confidence a 17 yr old has given a mainly 30 yr old+ defence is unbelievable really. Another ner...

Re: York city
I hope they don't come down. It's just another "bigger than us" club coming down and making the league harder, and if they come down they may re-evaluate the players they want to keep. It might scupper our chances of signing Scott Barrow for next season as he can clearly still do a grand job at this...

Re: Massive credit to Watson and the board
What S.W. has achieved has been very impressive. Thinking back over the last 30 years I'm not sure whether I can think of another Darlo manager who has orchestrated such a dramatic turnaround on the pitch. Gray did well to make a team from nothing and Cooper did well to win the Trophy, but Watson h...

Re: Darlington V Southport
I know he's a 4th/5th choice, just saying we need to. See something of him before the season ends ,if he's fit as it says he is , I appreciate that it's unlikely. However I believe Steve Watson knows best and leave it there. I guess it depends on the length of his contract. If he's out of contract t...

Re: Darlington V Southport
It's 3 matches left and I doubt we'll see him at all. Even after about 6 weeks of his "mini pre-season" the bloke could barely run, then got injured again. So we are are about 2 weeks into full training for him after that injury? So he'll be at the barely can run stage now. Why is he going to get in...

Haven't they got a couple of long throw specialists? Hopefully they'll only get throws against the wind.
