Re: Premier League Thread

Chelsea played some pretty good football when Jose first came over to England.

Although I agree that he set's his team out to be effective rather than pleasing on the eye, is that really a bad thing?

There is incredible business, and then there is that.

I just hope the fee doesn't affect Bale mentally.

Aren't RM still paying off the Modric transfer? Bale will be about forty-eight by the time they've finished paying off the transfer

Re: Premier League Thread

Luke Shaw was fantastic last season. I know he's signed a long-term contract with Southampton but if he has another good season they'll find it difficult to keep hold of him. If United don't manage to get Baines before September, I wouldn't be surprised if they made a move for him. He's still only s...

I actually think that the fact many are writing off United this season will probably give them that extra incentive to go and prove people wrong.

Re: The Boxing Thread

I'm astonished that Clev wanted to stand and trade with Kovalev. You don't stand and trade with someone like that. I'm also surprised that there was no re-match clause inserted into the contract, especially as the fight was voluntary rather than mandatory - not that I'd expect any clause to have bee...

Re: England vs Scotchland

Even our 'good' players don't seem very good anymore. Another Hart clanger, Gerrard playing 50 yard balls to the opposition defence, Rooney totally unfit and disinterested. To be fair, Hart didn't see it until very late, and it came through a fair few players on the way. Don't get me wrong, Hart wi...

Re: England vs Scotchland

Honestly, the constant bashing of the likes of Walcott, Wellbeck, Cleverley etc is really starting to piss me off. These are young players who all get a regular game in some of the best club sides in European football. Now we might not be as strong as we were a decade ago, and we might not be as st...

Their first 'home' game of the season only managed to attract a crowd of barely 2,000 this afternoon. Television footage also showed fans arguing and bickering among themselves which really is worrying.

I don't take any notice of the standings until they've all played around ten games or so. Having said that, I'll enjoy it while it lasts because they'll turn it around before too long. They'll end up around mid-table I think.

I've heard a few people claim that Hooper is better than Welbeck recently - no idea what they base that ridiculous opinion on though. Maybe grabbing a few goals past the likes of Queen of the South, Ross County and Dunfermline is suddenly comparable to notching past the likes of Man City, Arsenal an...

I know there is already a thread similar to this, but this has a slight twist. At work, we've got a season prediction game based on a number of scenarios over the course of the season. Re: New season predictions

The thing is, while Moyes and Pellegrini haven't done it before, most of their playing staff have. There are very few members of the Chelsea team that have been involved with a Premiership title chase and it is the players out on the pitch as much as the manager that win the games. The spine of the...
