Re: Has anyone played for DFC and scored for England?
David Hodgson scored 3x for England under 21s in 7 appearances. Obviously not a player but always a Darlo Legend. Joachim scored for the u21s too. I was looking for senior team goalscorers, but as they're pretty thin on the ground we'll take these :D You can add Noel Whelan to the list of scorers f...

Re: Has anyone played for DFC and scored for England?
There seem to have been a lot of one-cap wonders like Nick Pickering down the years, but 'uddersfield legend, George 'Bomber' Brown scored 5 in 9 for England before eventually finishing his career as player-manager at Darlo.
He's the only one I've been able to find though.

Pedro Paulo, Rui Neves. If I was picking my all-time Darlo XI, Pedro would be in it. I think he only played something like six games for us, but I loved that guy. So Spen, I have no doubt Gramps is accurate in what you've said so how about you explain your behaviour? There's no excuse for this, many of my friends were at Hillsborough and some of the family are season ticket holders at Old Trafford. You are indeed a despicable, two faced, sick being. It's jus...

Worst case scenario for Saturday is Armstrong and Donowa up front with Laing and Watson plus Academy kids on the bench. Alun or Rhys? Graeme was pretty good. Louis could jazz things up a bit! I have never understood the Science (or Maths) behind squad numbers. It all makes sense until after Rivers. Why do we have a number 77 and number 44 etc? You've probably never understood the science or maths behind squad numbers because there is no science or maths behind squad numbers. Let's be ho...

Its must be sad in your myopic world. Some of us care about football in a wider sense than our own club. Hence why I will be watching football at my 4th venue in 4 days to support local clubs and watch football. I don't want any football club to struggle financially, hence why back in 2012 I along ...

Think it was Bolton rather than Everton. It was bloody freezing the day of that York game. And a bird hit my car radiator on the a66 and got wedged in. I only found it when I pulled up at sainsburys in darlo. Useful detail for you there. Was it still alive? Shades of the Farnborough game back in 20...

Also when a group of us drove down to watch him play for Lichenstein at Cardiff Arms Park, we created a bit of a stir amongst the Lichenstein fans. "Lichenstein" sounds like the name of a German soft rock tribute act 8-) Also, the match was actually at the Millennium Stadium, so this anecdote's abo...

Re: Who will follow Wigan Athletic into administration?
There is already a massive gulf between league one and championship salary structure wise not sure the cap will affect it that much. Is there? What’s your justification for that statement? I’d venture sides like Sunderland, Portsmouth etc more than match Championship levels of spending. In terms of...

Re: Who will follow Wigan Athletic into administration?
Plucky little fairytale club Salford City lost £32,000 a week in getting promoted from National North in 2017-18 and in the National League in 2018/19 they were losing £64,000 a week (total of £3.3m) in getting promoted to the EFL. Their owners Project 92 Ltd had lent the club over £5.4 million by ...

I can't say I've followed his career that closely down the years, but I do remember watching him play for Bolton at The Valley about fifteen years ago alongside the likes of Fernando Hierro and Bruno N'Gotty, so he had some pretty decent teammates to potentially learn from back in the day. I reckon ...

Styche will be playing for Bedale Town soon if his career doesn't pick up, so he's history - speaking of which, what was the name of that striker who played for us in the early 90's, he left for a while then came back about 98ish but wasn't as good as he was? When the football is coming back is one of the last things on my mind currently, more just hoping the number of infections/deaths reduce asap and then see where we are. Yeah, to be honest, the longer the lockdown goes on, the less and less bothered I am about the season resuming. And I'm pretty sur...

The player's actual prime or his 'prime' with us? I'd say Gabbiadini but there are quite a few who if they had been playing for us in their prime you would have to think would have been incredible. We’ll say in their prime with us. Ah, that's a shame. I love the idea of a parallel universe where th...
