Re: Boston
I'm terms of professionalism and preparation it feels similar to the Tommy Wright four-for-training debacle.
However, it still may be completely untrue, and the club ought to be saying as much both for the club's reputation and for aa's sake if it really is a baseless rumour.

Re: Buxton v Darlo
Sometimes you see goals live and think they might look better on the highlights, but not this time - this time they might look even worse. Dear me.

Re: Buxton v Darlo
I just don't see what aspect of Armstrong's management is likely to turn this around? He's not about to suddenly turn them super organised, he seems too demoralised to motivate them, he doesn't have the tactical nous. The gig is up, I'm afraid. A good management reign has just withered on the vine. ...

Re: Buxton v Darlo
Sod the pay off, it's time he and Holloway walked. Armstrong wasn't there today, I'd be very interested to know why, and the reason really needs to be a good one if it's going to give any impression that he is preparing for matches properly. That result flattered us today, we were atrocious, and Arm...

Re: Buxton v Darlo
All management's fault this. Shape is appalling, they're overloading us down the flanks because we only have narrow players apart from the defence, yet they're just ambling through the middle every time too.

Re: Alfreton V Darlington
Suppose with sukar missing we could try the diamond type midfield that mark cooper played during our brief successful spell under him? I think the trophy final line up went
Chandler
Smith and moore
Bridge-Wilkinson
How about
Platt
Hatfield and liddle
Barnes?

Re: Brackley
A deserved point which could well have been 3 but for Sukars stupid challenge as we were well on top. Thought Lawlor had his best game for a while and as we thought, Hatfield led by example throughout. Have not scored from open play yet and am worried where the goals will come from. Thought it was ...

Re: Hereford away
On the plus side we certainly created some decent opportunities with Hazel and Salkeld linking up well on a couple of occasions. Salkeld was getting a ridiculous amount of stick on Twitter last night, some fans saying he's the worst player they've ever seen. Based on 2 matches. Looks like this seas...

Re: Hereford away
Having moaned all week I think I might have been wrong - on the evidence of our second game anyway; Salkeld could have had a hat trick, Taylors display was excellent, including some accurate kicks down the left, the penalty was very dubious and their goal was brilliant rather than reflecting poor d...

Re: Hereford away
Obviously a lot of doom and gloom about and justifiably so, but two things... Taylor had the best game I've seen him play, and possibly more importantly... Platt looks the bee's knees. We've been missing a player in that position since Phil Turnbull left. Not quite the same type of player but he loo...

Re: Hereford away
Yeah, overall a draw would have been fair but our defence absolutely lost its collective mind suddenly in the 88th minute. Things much better in the second half, salkeld got a lot closer to hazel and that helped a lot. Taylor, platt, hazel, Nelson, Felix and Griffiths all played well. But let's not ...

Re: National League TV
I don't remember who did it for the trial game last season as I didn't see it live, but I think from the highlights the quality looked pretty decent. I think there's two games this month, scunny and the home game v shields on the bank holiday Monday, so even then individual passes are better than a ...

Re: National League TV
Looking at this link it looks as though the single match pass gives you access to all games being screened, so that should give you the scunny game.
Still think 9.50 is a bit steep but good to have the games shown, particularly for the exiles among us.

Re: Hereford away
With Rivers out and Moke doubtful. Definitely puts some pressure on our midfield with limited options. Personally I'd like to see us try 3-5-2. Think the question whichever formation we go for will be who do you put alongside Platt in CM. For me below I've gone for Liddle, but I also wouldn't mind ...

The announcement for national League sides said you could buy a game pass for about £10, which I think is still a lot. I haven't seen further updates about NLN though

Re: Season 23/24
Also, let's talk Wrexham. What them two at Wrexham are doing looks good on the surface, no doubt, but... 1) the only true measure of success will be how they leave Wrexham, not what they do in the meantime, and the financial backing will become less significant compared to their opponents when they ...

Re: Abuse at Scarborough
Skim read it. Not good reading. Honestly it felt like just a bit of a time warp going back 30 years (and even then, it was starting to become less acceptable). Even the very obvious point of it costing the club money aside, it’s not funny, and it just marks you out as thick. I just read the fa outl...

I believe the popular folklore about mcarrison was that he kicked a pools player up the arse and was sent off immediately, then never seen again.

Re: New Shirts
Some clubs seem to have different prices shirts depending on whether they are a replica or a match-style, so maybe arsenal do have a £110 shirt as well, but I'm afraid I don't really understand the difference.

Re: Aaron Martin wanted from Gateshead
My understanding is that Craig is a totally committed fan like all of us and some of the comments are out of order. Seems like we were on the verge of signing Martin and he was probably told that, maybe jumped the gun a touch, and then something happened to change the outcome. Sadly for me as think...

Re: Aaron Martin wanted from Gateshead
Tough to judge this one. Has shades of Cassidy about it, but then he was prolific in his last spell in the NLN. He looks like the big burley bugger we want, but then so did Jacob Blyth.

Given he's played in Scotland before I think he'd probably travel if it meant a full time deal. Beck did the same after all. So I'm sure there's plenty of potential destinations still open to him.
