Re: South Shields.
It's not surprising that Thompson has got cold feet when you look at the club's huge liabilities in operating with a big, expensive, full-time squad. No takers so far to buy the club since it went on the market several months ago and they have their own ground, training facilities and hospitality fa...

Re: Pete Jameson
We might get a bit more time for incomings as I can see a lot of games on Saturday biting the dust with this widespread freeze-up. Some already off tonight. May not be a bad thing for us if we have a free weekend.

Re: Pete Jameson
Obviously he wasn't with us that long but overall he wasn't very dominant in the air and was targeted by opposition teams at corners, at least a couple of the goals at Tamworth from outside the box he should have kept out and he let in a very soft goal against Spenny with a mistake that set them on ...

Re: Pete Jameson
Poor judgement calls, largely poor transfer activity and dreadful man management were all recurring themes in Gowling's damaging reign.

Re: Pete Jameson
It's clear that In Gowling's view TT was a better bet because he could have extended the Robson loan. Surely that's obvious.

Re: Pete Jameson
In Gowling's case he wasn't helped by the fact that his solution was to bring in an error-prone youngster who he then got shot of quite quickly like most of his signings.

Re: v Tamworth
We have no creativity, no goal scorer, and we have it seems no method of play, no plan to even attempt to threaten any oppositions goal. We’ve seen one home game win this season! Tamworth seemed nothing special. If we’d had a player like Stephen Thompson or Jack Lambert on the pitch we could have b...

Re: v Tamworth
Watson has brought in one player who has proved to be a good signing, which bodes well for his forays into the transfer market. JG signed 13 players in three months and probably just two of them would be regarded as a real success. Some never played, others were not up to it and a couple just about ...

Re: v Tamworth
Sadly I am beginning to think that spending £30K now is probably chucking money away. It looks to be too late and too much damage has already been done. To expect that bringing in two or three new players at this stage will suddenly produce 9 wins or so out of the next 19 is stretching belief. That...

Re: Boost The Budget January 2024
Watson's probably just making extra sure we don't end up with a Jacob Blyth for the run-in, as in can't run, head the ball, shoot, hold the ball up, pass, or do anything really other than stand around for 90 minutes looking disinterested.

For a Northern League side Redcar Athletic have clearly got some serious amount of money behind them to have signed Dale Hopson, Adam Boyes, Jason Kennedy, Curtis Round and Kev Burgess.

Re: v Tamworth
I think maybe the Tamworth fans see the game at little, struggling Darlo as a bit of a foregone conclusion and not worth bothering with. They have decided to save their pennies for the title cruncher with Scunny next Saturday. They haven't managed to fill the one coach for Darlo (despite a big disco...

Well it certainly shouldn't be Silence of The Lambs as they're bringing a supporters coach and who wouldn't when you're clear at the top of the league and with six wins on the bounce. They seem to share the goals around with the top scorer, on 12, being a midfielder called Kyle Finn. They play a rea...

Re: Southport
We don't know what exactly was said between Gowling and Hazel or whether Hazel was told he wasn't part of his plans here which clearly would adversely affect any player. But we do know Gowling wanted Asante to play for him for some time because he said so. He clearly believed we would be getting a p...

Re: Southport
The big question with Asante is whether he will be able to contribute more as time goes by. When Gowling signed him in November, he said all he now needed was to get up to full speed with match sharpness and some time to bed in. He said Asante would bring goals, great link-up play, a good aerial and...

Striker Cedric Main, back at York and still not even a place on the bench. Played 16 times on loan at Blyth with nine goals and six assists. Just offer York a chunk of the BtB money and sort out a loan until the end of the season.Darlopartisan wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 12:59 pmHopefully Steve can bring in one or two decent players this week .

Yes it's a very difficult task now but I'm not giving up on this just yet. Watson has made one one signing who looks excellent and there's scope now for another couple of additions (maybe one this week). Siddik will strengthen the defence again and I think Saturday showed we can be solid and grind o...

Re: King's Lynn...
I stopped reading at Singaporean hintreprenure. Sounds like a right load of old buzz-word bollocks and very short on detail like how much and what they are "investing in", especially so since the club doesn't own the ground and has big debts taken out against it. The major investment also comes on t...
