Re: Extra funding . Thought
Well I am , what ever you want to call it , unicorn chaser, if there is a chance come January, I know you will be there. For a few seasons after becoming fan owned, it seemed as though we kept on getting mid season cash calls from the club. For one reason or another. The common denominator...we'd r...

Re: Extra funding . Thought
I think over a number of years we've done incredible fund raising and I remember when we were asked to help with the stand and the dugout covers we put our hands in our pockets as well as boosting the budget. Chester have done a similar thing this season and raised £86,000. I note that for ground i...

Re: DJ Interview 18/07/22
On another associated note, does anyone know how many of our squad rely only on their salary from us for income, and how many also have other jobs? If there is a high proportion of the former, then we are professional anyway. I think we probably have a few players on very decent money now, but on t...

Re: DJ Interview 18/07/22
I'm fine with padding out the squad with a couple or three loans, it is where we are at. I remember a few seasons ago, Hereford won promotion from L2 under Graham Turner and literally 4 of their starting 11 were 20 year olds on loan from local Championship clubs. AA has done fantastic to get the pla...

Re: Early National League North prediction
I think it was Jo Cummings who was sent off. He is a recent signing from Radcliffe. Spennymoor still seem to be relying on Tait and Curtis as their central defensive partnership. They looked all at sea against Heed, and really looking forward to seeing how Beck and Hazel do against them. They proba...

Re: Darlo v Rochdale
Regarding AA's comments - I haven't seen them yet and am just going off what people have said on here - I am slightly surprised as I thought AA bought into the whole club ethos. This includes the budget limitations that come with it. Maybe he is feeling a little under pressure as a few people, unfai...

Wonder if Billy Heath has tried to get Tom Denton in yet noticed he has left Chesterfield. https://twitter.com/AlfretonTownFC/status/1547874435952103425?t=--E4lipYXBoPEg82GTqSKw&s=19 Haha if only I could bet on football... I think we can expect much of the same from Alfreton this season. Tom Denton...

Not sure if Tony McMahon is still a coach at Scunny, but if he is that could be the link. Believe they worked together at our Academy so could be teaming up again. Don’t want to be disrespectful to Rivers, but not sure if he is still good enough to play at that level. He's decent enough for us but ...

The thing that gets me is why Gray thinks the rich benefactor route is the way to success, after having suffered an administration personally as Penney's assistant, and then going to Radged who put us into another administration.
The mind boggles, really.

Re: mark beck
Of course none of us know what’s left in the budget, but AA has already said we’re going for a smaller squad this season. So given we’re well-covered in the forward area, if we take AA at his word, do we really need a seventh forward player, knowing that means we’ll have to put another one of them ...

Re: Summer 2022
May be better to get the hard away fixtures done in August when we should have the full squad fit & raring to go? That is if you can define a 'hard away fixture' Last season I would have thought Brackley was one of those but we won, Fylde away, again we won. So called easy away games like Telford w...

Updating the squad following yesterday’s one-in, one-out for those who find it useful. Currently on 16 players so I reckon we’re just a couple of players away now. Another option at centre back and possibly one more in central midfield and we’ll be there. Taylor Martin Hedley Wheater Lawlor Sukar G...

Re: mark beck
possibly a utility player who could play in defence or midfield would be ideal. Like Purver and Hedley? Suker can also cover centre half too. Defenders are easier to pick up on loan whereas if we have a bit of the budget left and a player like Sousa is available I'd rather we try for that type of p...

Re: Summer 2022
Budget permitting, I think we'll end up with a squad of 19. We'll sign another winger, and as Gramps says, midfield and defensive options would be the other two. I guess there's always the option of bringing in someone from a bigger club on loan, AA has done this quite well in the past with the like...

Re: Dos Santos
Doesn't really matter about getting money. It frees up a wage, and leaves a vacancy to bring someone in like Leesley or Sousa (who I think we have no chance of signing). Good luck to him though, he's only young and will improve. Despite being raw he did quite well for us in a few matches and scored...

Re: Erico sousa
Sousa is the longest of long shots.
Of course we'd be interested, but I imagine that he'll have many better offers, considering that he seemed to do well at Grimsby last season. I'm surprised that they released him really.
A more realistic target would be Joe Leesley, but Boston want him back.

Good luck to them, would love to see how they are going to stay financially afloat whilst being FT. They might have to trim the budget a bit, but aren't they getting gates of 2,500-3,000 and have a new ground which may provide decent earning potential. Put it another way, if they can't manage, then...

Sounds like he wants to sign but we haven’t made an offer yet. What are we waiting for? Why do you think we have not made an offer? Of course we will have made an offer, but it's all about both parties being able to agree terms isn't it. I don’t know that we haven’t but the article seems to suggest...

Think I may be the odd one out from our fans, but I preferred Cassidy to. Beck, neither are goal scorers but Cassidy was more mobile and supportive across the pitch, especially when our defence was under pressure, never saw that in Beck, plus think we will quickly revert to lumping the ball forward...

When I Ty you call me a troll so no winning with you lad I (and others) think you’re a troll because you post daft things to get a reaction like: “It’s mid-June and we’ve clearly not finished all our signings but we’re going to finish bottom half” or “I’ve been a fan for 15 years but why do people ...
