For us to change our status from a fan owned club to selling out to an investor does that require a 2/3 majority vote from DFCSG members, or just 50% plus one.
I rather hope the former.

Re: Potential new investors
For me we need to stop with Martin Gray putting a loaded gun to our heads. I really respect him for what he has done for this club but I am getting a little fed up of him bullying the board and now he fans over this takeover. He should respect how we feel and what we went through if anyone knows ho...

Re: Prediction League
After FC United game I think. Only Telford to still be added.
Perhaps you have been on 77 points for yonks because you will keep predicting Darlo to lose 6-0 in front of 5000 people.

Re: Raj Singh
Is not part of the annual overspend down to the club acquiescing to Gray's requests for extra funds for the playing budget. We have a clear choice to make either follow Martin Gray's external investor led vision, which despite his hopes still would not guarantee football league status, or keep a fan...

Re: Reality of life
Surely want we want really, in an ideal world, is any investors to provide initial funding for improvements to the facilities (whether at BM or elsewhere) to allow us to progress on the field and generate some off-field revenue. We don't necessarily need someone to pump in money year after year end...

Re: Reality of life
The core asset of our football club, and we have precious few, is the 'Golden Share' which allows us to field a team in the National league. Without it we cannot play. Only too painful a memory under Strings.
If new investors came in owning 51% would the 'Golden Share' be transferred to them ?

No need now to spend a penny on the pitch. Leave it as it is, 5 wins in a row at home we are unbeatable.

Re: Relieved we're not getting promoted !
It is ridiculous to say that you don't want promotion or that it would bankrupt us. The worst that would happen is relegation, without doing any ground work. Sorry, but you are living in a fantasy world. The risk of the club going pop could be very real. Clubs go bankrupt for a very simple reason. ...

Gillingham not been mentioned yet. Battered all the game in 1973, and came away with a 1-0 victory.

Fantastic news. Even if we don't reach the 'play-offs' this has still been a momentous season in our quest to re-build and bring home Darlington F.C.

Makes perfect sense to me signing Bartlett. A proven keeper at a higher level who wants to remain part-time. Whoever has to be released will be Gray's decision, there is no room for sentiment. Signing Bartlett shows we are already preparing for next season and possibly competing in the Conference.

In the end it was a sweet 3 points , although again no clean sheet. Unless we resolve this issue we can't expect to make the playoffs, let alone promotion. If we win every game 2-1 we will reach the play-offs. Fylde have only conceded 5 fewer goals than us and they are top by 10 points. Why? becaus...

Great to have your in depth statistical analysis again.
I haven't given up on the play-offs yet. Our next three games are against the bottom three teams in the league. 9 points possibly and with Stockport playing Chorley at the weekend we could be right back in the mix.

The pitch isn't flat. But that's nothing to do with the rugby being played on it. It's due to the lay of the land. I actually think it's held together pretty well. It's. It not cutting up. It's just not flat. And it's affecting play. Once the work is done it will solve this. We were told by the rug...

I echo that there are some very valid points raised in this thread about how the club should try to progress financially off the field to continue the progress on it. I think in my opinion that we have now reached a level we could easily maintain with current fan base and sponsorship/investment. Wi...

Re: Conference North Play Off Final at MK Dons?
Agreed, to hell with MK Dons and giving them any more money. Pathetic, plastic club. It's totally unnecessary to play it in such a big place too. 10-15k would be more than adequate. I'd sooner have it in an intimate venue and nearly full than a third full in a cavernous bowl. Bear in mind that this...

Re: Darlo v Gloucester Match Thread
I suspect there will be some more pacy play planned for the BM games, with a more concerted attempt to score first. Saunders & Walker may be a sign of MG wanting to up the tempo to take the early initiative in games. Without scoring first it will continue to be hard to break the tight defences at B...

Tax bill then basically. HMRC take pittance in a CVA they don't have the resource to do anything else. To be honest they are quite trigger happy with winding up orders and rarely comes to anything. I think the days of HMRC going easy on football clubs is coming to an end. A highly respected local a...

To be fair Harvey Madden the administrator in 2012 went above and beyond his duties to help us avoid liquidation and as a consequence we are not a phoenix club.

Some folks need to give their heads a good shake. Already this season at H.P we have had gates of 2001, 1996, 1730, and 1729. Many people vowed not to watch us again until we were back in town, and with two guaranteed full houses against F.C.U.M and Harrogate , late season home games with Telford an...

[quote="Darlogramps"] I don't listen to DarloFansRadio as I find the commentary irritating and amateurish. Jimmy Lawton has been mentioned and was a prolific scorer for us including 29 goals in season 64/5 in what was basically a crap team. The following season he went to Swindon in exchange for Alan Sproats and some cash. His replacement was Bobby Cummings from Newcastle United who proved the catalyst f...
