Re: Tonights games 06/09/2016

You couldn't be more wrong. The top three haven't lost a game between them yet. It won't be a wide open league. I almost added a rider abut Fylde, but went for a shorter message; I accept do seem a class apart at the moment. Not so sure about the other two, even though their results to date are ide...

Re: Tonights games 06/09/2016

The 'mixed set of results for us' and the 'shock result' last night simply confirm to me that most of the teams in the league can win or lose against most of the others on a given occasion = much less certainty than in many other leagues. So I won't get worried if we lose a couple of games on the tr...

Too soon to draw conclusions from one or two games. Things should be a bit clearer by the end of the month. Four games in eight days, to end the month, is going to be a tough test for us.

Re: blackwell meadows work !!

I really sympathise with the directors at the moment and would not like to be in their shoes. Rumours, founded or unfounded, which go very much to the heart of the short to medium term future are in the public domain. There are doubtless all sorts of things going on behind the scenes. Anything said ...

Thanks, guys.

Have a local friend who is a keen Shaymen supporter. Keen to get the home and away games in our diaries, before anything else gets in the way. Guess we must be patient.

Salford win a good result for Blyth. Clear from their forum that they really didn't want Salford in the Evostik next season.

Re: Match thread

Hopefully, easier on Tuesday when Grantham will have less to play for; should be 3 of those 4 magical points. We will have done Whitby a favour today so, if they can get a result on Tuesday against Barwell, they may be more relaxed on Thursday as well. Will be good when the "ifs" and "may be" commen...

Re: Top 9 after todays games, Saturday Apr 02nd 2016

Hours spent in a car/coach is another contributing factor to possible lost games. One big 'plus' for the final 8 games is that the travelling situation is pretty good, compared with what it might have been. Strangely, the way the fixtures work could just be the tipping factor to getting us those mag...

We have a game tomorrow!?

With everything else going on, easy to forget Sutton Coldfield. Need to win, of course. I will plump for 3-0.

Morning rain forecast, but hopefully the ground is pretty dry at the moment? Anyone had a look?

Re: Todays Top 9 games, Monday Mar 28th 2016

All games matter, but for me the key to automatic promotion or not is the next four games. I believe that, if we are to top Blyth, we simply have to take at least 9 point from them. Achieve that and we have three home games to follow, with a very achievable 9 points from them - tired legs and bodies...

My prediction: whatever the result, come Sunday we will still be predicting... and will be doing so for some weeks to come.

My heart (of course) wants a win this afternoon, but my head is (sadly) telling me the reverse.

Re: League Table

Let's try and be fair both ways? If you run a website, there is an expectation that you will keep it up to date. This is a real burden, as I know only too well from one (nothing to do with football) that I run myself. But an out of date site is not a good thing. On the other hand might not a gentle ...

Trying to concentrate on a half full glass, rather than a half empty one, the jetstream is moving south and, within a few days, we should be in for a dry, if colder, remainder of January.

It would be nice to talk about football for a change, rather than the weather.

I can sympathise with the line of thought that wishes the EGM had agreed the groundshare. But, in a technical sense, you can only do this once there is a final document for approval. Whether the directors have to call another EGM, or have sufficient powers to sign on the dotted line without one, is ...

Nice idea about heading to Rushall, but can't imagine they will necessarily be overkeen - setting up shop and their fans not expecting a home fixture and plans (particularly near Christmas) made to be elsewhere. Just looked at a weather update. Drier on Friday, but more heavy stuff with vicious wind...
