Re: DFCSG Members Poll: Change of Club Name

Well Twitter went into meltdown over this last night didn't it!

Trolls, trolls, everywhere.

Got mine and my Dad's vote in yesterday.

I am not too concerned but based on polls in 2016, you do worry how others are going to vote.

Re: Nuneaton Match Thread

Forget the match it was drab. We can't win the lot. But that was lacklustre. Right. I'm not complaining. I keep looking to the pitch. And it's going to cause us challenges for the rest of the season. we need to dig deep again and get the pitch sorted. Which I know is planned. It's just so Soft and r...

Re: DFCSG Members Poll: Change of Club Name

We only have to choices? Missed opportunity surely.

Darlington FC ... p.s. Raj Singh, you are a c**t. And the FA you can go F**k yourselves 2, Kidderminster Harriers 1. I can see it on the Vidiprinter now

Perhaps it might not get FA approval.

Now this has the potential to go wrong: taken from the Nuneaton website "SUPPORTERS attending Saturday's Vanarama National League North fixture at Darlington will be able to purchase tickets at the away turnstiles at Blackwell Meadows on the day of the fixture. Approximately 100-110 tickets will be...

Re: Halifax v Darlington Match Thread

Yet another game where defensive lapses cost is the points. The second goal was a collective ballsup all round. But yet again we walk away infuriated with the ref. I had to laugh at Beck's reaction to finally being awarded a free kick. And as for booking Thommo for being launched 10 feet in the air,...

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you all.

Whilst 2016 had a large number of pretty terrible outcomes, for us special few 2016 actually turned out to be a bit special as Darlington fans.

Hopefully 2017 will be as prosperous to us all, as last year turned out to be on the pitch.

Re: Halifax prices

Whilst it is more expensive than we're used to paying in recent times, I don't actually mind it. I'd be a bit more chewed if it was week in week out. At least it's the same price for everyone. What boils my p1s$ is when the likes of W£st and Norton/Stockton hiked the prices to fltry and fleece good ...

Re: Stadium Blueprint with Waterpipe location

The clubhouse won't be going anywhere, that's safe to say. It's the prime asset to the site. And with the small sacrifice of the ground floor windows, and the hiring of a good architect, a seated structure could be constructed in front of and including the existing structure. Going back on the south...

Re: Time to know what the deal is.

Perhaps I am over reacting on this occasion. And I'm not wanting to increase any tensions. I've done well not to stick my neb in so far because as you say Lo, we need to give the two clubs a chance to work through things. It's just stewing underneath. And we all Love a conspiracy don't we. Plus we d...

Re: Time to know what the deal is.

My concern is we have another fundraising scheme ready to be announced. I'd imagine there could be a few investors out there reluctant to part with their hard earned cash if there is to be no benefit to us. I'm thinking specifically of the pitch, particularly if the rugby club are going to let every...

At least two of us, probably three (collecting en route), possibly 5 if my mate gets a pass out. Not sure what part of the ground we'll get. I don't think they open the old home end any more. So, the old away terrace is for home fans, and away fans either get the old seated stand (with the pil...

Re: Constructive views on the Blackwell experience

This is a very interesting thread, which i could throw my hat into a lot of things, but most have already been said. Things will improve. We have to keep being constructive and positive at this stage, give the clubs the chance to rectify or justify, and then if nothing positive happens, then we have...

Re: Darlo v Halifax Match Thread

Seems a long long time since we've been discussing team selection. We must be in a sticky patch. Lol. I think we'll go 442. Always seem to start that way at home. I'd have Turnbull and Scott in The middle. Scott isn't pretty. We'll he is. But you know I mean. He isn't pretty. But he is effective and...

I noticed yesterday that the new front entrance is finally underway. FAO; H1987. No need to go into in any more detail at this stage, but at Hilsborough and Gillingham for example, there are uncovered seats that are included in capacity. But these grounds have sufficient other seats meeting the mini...

Re: BM latest pics..?

Totally disagree the existing seats can't be worked with. Why would you build backwards? You could tear out the existing 3 rows (it looks like they're metal) but save the seats and fixtures. Then you'd only need to buy an extra 50 seats and some new rows, and build forwards towards the pitch. The f...

Re: Blackwell bar now open to Season Ticket Holders?

The profit margin on a pint of beer is miniscule. So there's not much money to made from it for the club. Buy a pie. Much better financially :D Most 500 club members are based in the stand, and are slightly older. I think a lot will have been put off by the time it would take to get to the clubhouse...

Re: Marine Match thread...

The thing is with Beck, he is the new model Amar. Yes he plays up front. But he's there for what he adds to the team. Not solely for his goals. He sets them up for others. Knock downs. The odd free kick that's actually given. He roughs up defenders and is there to ask questions of them. The trouble ...

weak defending cost us. I think that's the general consensus. My old man (the moaning git that he is) is adamant that we need to strengthen at the back.
