Re: Martin Gray award speech

I just took it as positive spin and looking to be progressive same way he spoke of crowds increasing since the return to Darlo (yes up from HP, but down game on game at Darlo).

What else can he say, we have hit our limit. Granted he could have spoken about his wedding more :)

Re: The way we set up.

I was trying to look at how we can best use what we have rather than sign further players, as I’m not sure how much of an options that is at this stage of a season for our level. For me it’s about trying to keep us in the playoff contention in order to keep the crowds (and me) interested for as long...

The way we set up.

That was a tricky Saturday and have been thinking all weekend as to an answer and I’m struggling, I think Gray is too. We have tried out a few formations and personnel. So thought I’d chuck a couple of alternatives out there. In contrast to previous seasons I think we have a rather unbalanced squad....

Re: Stockport Match Thread

Thommo took his goal well but he's a luxury even at this level. He doesn't track back very often, meaning that there is one less midfielder and that exposes the defence time and again whether it's 4-4-2 or 4-3-1-2. I tend to disagree, if anything i think Thommo works backwards more than he ever has...

Re: Kids In Tin Shed

It's been covered well above. As a Darlo fan though I was embarrassed leaving the ground. It was only kids 'pretending' to look for trouble and in fact of the 15 -20 only 2 were 'leading it' and peer pressure kept the others there. Trying to walk out they caused a bit of a bottle neck as a result I ...

Re: Match thread today

But that isn't true is it - firstly it was 4-1 for cautions. Surely it actually makes complete sense that the team committing five times as many fouls would have four times as many cautions? I took the stats from the Darlo website, so missed the yellow for them. My point being that in a game where ...

Re: Match thread today

Plenty of time to cool off from Saturday and here are my thoughts….. Let’s get it out the way, the ref was poor. I don’t really recall any serious tackles going in so the number of fouls in the game just didn’t add up and in line with this how we ended up with 4 yellow cards to 0 and 15 fouls to 3 j...

Re: Blackwell bar now open to Season Ticket Holders?

Just a little confused.

Does that mean as a season ticket holder I have to complete the for, become a member of the quaker club to have access. Or simply as a season ticket hold i automatically have access?

Anyone know?, thanks

Re: Pre Blackwell Meadows beers

When we moved to the arena was there not differing entry levels to the bars. There were two distinct bars and I have a feeling only season tickets were allowed in one? if not for the duration at least for a part of it. For me it makes sense to have two tiers with a membership and or season tickets a...

Having missed Stalybridge at home my last game was Nuneaton away and it feels an age since I saw us play but was a nice return. We really ran the show from start to finish, Worcester only got involved once we had written off the game and made al lout subs. Though not troubled too much it’s nice to h...

Re: Who do you want as the next England manager?

Unbelievable that the talk is that Southgate get's the job permanently if we beat Scotland. They obviously haven't been watching the last 2 games! What amazes me more is the new notion that decisions are being made on 1 or 2 games. England v Scotland England win and I presume we keep him lose he go...

Not too surprised by Purewall but I think we would miss Mitch's energy and width. Be sad to see either or both of them go in terms of their contribution to the club

Re: Sam Allardyce under investigation

Could be right. Although if Southgate doesn't get the required results can they afford to stick with him until next summer? How many games is that? On the other side of the coin, if Southgate turns us into a coherent team do throw him out because a 70 year old Frenchman is available for a couple of...

Adam Nowakowski also made available for a loan.

Am I correct in thinking that Cartman doesn't drive and shared a lift with Nowakowski for matches?

Seeing as Bruce was the only other candidate considered over the summer I'd be surprised if he's not offered the job. Wenger was in the running and I suspect thats where the FA will want to go. Muddle through this season with Southgate then look to appoint Wenger, who will have just complete 20 yea...

Jameson Marrs, Hunter, Brown, Galbraith. Gillies, Nowakowski, Portas, Thompson. Beck, Cartman. Subs: Bell, Mitchell, Purwal, Hardy, Watson. With the player we have available its hard to see past that team and squad. Lets hope they bring back the 3 points. Despite the great start to the season 'feel...

Jameson is very good, particularly at this level. We have had worse when we were a full time league club. Seriously how many saves did he make on Wednesday! Regards his kicking, I presumed it was simply down to the injury he has been carrying and looks to me that as games go by he is returning to th...

Enjoyable game last night, if you enjoy being on the edge of your nerves. First half as many say they should have been out of sight, easily 2 or 3 up. We just couldn’t keep possession. The long balls to Beck just turning the ball over time and time again. I’m not blaming anyone in particular but whe...

Maybe late but my thoughts on this. Kiddie were very good and for the first 30 mins I feared the worst, was a very well taken goal. They had so much joy down our right hand side and though it may be easy to blame Marr’s he really got no help at all. We just didn’t seem able to fill that hole they we...
