Re: Run-in

Talking of injury prone players, I have a memory of Noel Whelan coming on as a sub at the Arena and pulling his hamstring as he ran onto the pitch and had to be taken off straight away. Please tell me I haven’t imagined it and this really happened 🤔

Re: Darlington v Buxton

I think we really need to be trying to tie Watson and Mitchell down to be here next season, regardless of which league we are playing in. I think they should be able to build a team that is either capable of holding their own in NLN or being promotion contenders in the league below. I look at this ...

Re: Darlington v Buxton

We have won 4 games of the 10 we have played under Watson. That is the same number of wins as the previous incumbents managed in 24 games, so there has been a measurable improvement recently. I think we really need to be trying to tie Watson and Mitchell down to be here next season, regardless of wh...

Re: Darlington v Buxton

I didn't think we were that poor in the first half Pete. Agreed we were the better team and they hadn’t threatened until the bizarre own goal. I thought in the second half,we were just starting to run out of ideas when out of the blue we scored. The timing was vital, as it lifted the players and th...

Re: Darlington v Buxton

A famous victory steered by Nelson - a shame useless seadogs couldn't score at Gloucester. Quakers might be holed below the bows and shipping water worse than Middlesbrough but with a fair wind and a salty dog in charge safe harbour after stormy sea and all that. Delighted for Nella. Credit to Nels...

Re: Darlington v Buxton

Pretty sure that is the first game we have won this season from a losing position. Time to break another hoodoo on Tuesday and win back to back games. It actually feels like we still have a chance of beating the drop, although it is still a big ask.

Re: More local competition for good players now at Blyth

That's quite a few of us that are worried. I think you are right to be a bit sceptical. When these characters come in and start using phrases like “Sleeping Giant ” it suggests to me that they think there is a lot of untapped potential support that is going to be available at the first sign of succ...

I watched it too and had the same thought. If I were a Blyth fan I would be very uneasy.

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24

I see Siddik went off with a hamstring injury tonight. It appears he missed 9 months in 22/23 with a serious hamstring injury whilst at Crystal Palace. Another player who cannot stay fit. Thank you, Josh Gowling. This season has been one big - totally unavoidable - nightmare. And apparently Sukar i...

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24

Good effort in the first half, but after the 2nd goal went in around 65 minutes, we just faded tamely away. Unfortunately, the old failings again showed through. A failure to take our chances, and then paying the price for defensive lapses. Surely Curry has to start up front alongside Main. By the t...

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24

H/t 1 nil Boston. We have played well and created some decent chances, unfortunately Nelson has missed a couple of really good opportunities. They have had very few clear chances, the goal conceded was poor. Looked like Siddick should have cleared the ball in the build up.

Taylor, Lawlor and Asante all ruled out with injuries tonight. 2 things here, why on earth extend Sukar’s loan for a further month with Lawlor picking up injuries repeatedly, and yet again that total waste of space missing yet again. Re: South Shields v Darlo

Having watched the highlights and seen the sendings off again I agree that the first one was the correct decision. It was a long way from the goal, but there was no covering defender and no legitimate attempt to win the ball, so think the referee was brave but made the right call. The second red was...

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24

I think someone posted on another topic that Jacob Hazel is currently injured, and he I noticed he wasn’t in the Boston squad that beat Bishop Stortford on Saturday. Hopefully, then we will be spared the curse of the former striker scoring against us.

Boston v Darlington 20/02/24

Brilliant result at South Shields, now we have to follow that up by getting something at Boston on Tuesday. We are now entering the silly season when teams threatened with relegation often cause upsets as they scrap for points. We need to be that sort of outfit, chucking the form book out of the win...

Finished 4-0. Yes Four nil. Shields ended up with 9 men, but at least we made the most of the advantage today. Well done and lets follow this up at Boston on Tuesday.

Maybe a job for Asante. Mr Q strolls around on the touch line and doesn’t interfere with play, so could be a perfect fit.

Re: South Shields v Darlo

I think the way they play will actually suit us. We do play decent football and it should be a good game. The all important thing is the first goal because as soon as we concede, the heads drop and it's curtains. Absolutely correct. I believe we have scored first in every game we have won this seas...

Quakerlad, I think he’s called Stuart.
I think you are referring to Stuart Armstrong. He actually asks meaningful questions and doesn’t try to answer the question himself. Maybe the club prefer Ray’s banal approach.

I thought Joe Leesley was excellent when he came in last season. He looked comfortable anywhere on the left flank. Unfortunately, we have been badly stung by signing players returning from injury, particularly Wheater and Asante. However, I would be very happy if he trained with us on a non contract...

Re: Blood on hands/heads must roll

You can waffle on all you want with your anti Armstrong agenda but his track record stands up well and we would have ended up mid table. Gowling was appointed with a poorer win percentage ratio. That is stupidity. Not sure on what planet we would have finished mid table under Armstrong. He had mana...

Hope Tommy Taylor is OK following his collision with the post on Saturday. Watching it again it was a hell of a knock and he bravely carried on for the best part of the ninety minutes, I would imagine in some pain and discomfort. I think sometimes we forget that players can’t just put their feet up ...

The description of a regular poster on here suggests a certain person to me, and if it is who I think it is, it is about time that individual was banned for a long time, because he repeatedly brings the club into disrepute.
