Re: York watch....
And Gray was un-sackable, so the only pressure he would have felt was from himself, unlike now.

Re: York watch....
Here are four more (Schadenfreude!) "We were 5th when Mills got the sack. Look at us now." "Hoofing it up to Parkin will not win matches" "Total rubbish from start to finish never again." "This team is the laughing-stock of football. Almost unbelievable descent into obscurity. The new manager said t...

We lost, but I enjoyed the game and thought we played well.

Re: Brown
From what I read in today's echo looks like Cartman won't have a partner. Described his favourite formation as 4-1-4-1 keep good Shape out of possession and as soon as you win back possession look to attack with pace down the wings and in behind the CB's. If that's true looks like we'll start: Bart...

Re: Beck
Fee was agreed but Beck did fail a medical. Beck will be a York player as soon as the injury has cleared up. York are not going to pay us £25k - £30k for an injured player who can't play for them immediately, from their perspective it only makes sense for the injury to clear up before proceeding. Y...

Re: Beck
He's scored once all season. And looked shite. If York come in with any sort of offer at all, take it and save on the wages. Let's not roll over to the mighty York City - let them pay top whack for Beck, or keep him, to be possibly moved on later. That should give Beck a little impetus to get fit a...

Re: Beck
Will Gray have to get his signings rubber stamped or is he all powerful?
He obviously wanted him, and Beck by (having a medical) would seem to want to go.

Re: Investment
Personally, I'd like to see how far the club can go without investment. I don't subscribe to the feeling from a seeming majority of fans that we've gone as far as we can without investment, or have hit a celing. I'm certain that we can get to the next level, be it in 2 year or 5 years. I'm saddened...

Re: Martin Gray Story/ Interview in today's Non League Paper
I picked up a little gem from Gray at his initial press conference after taking up the York job - I"m sure it was from there, although might have been from a recent radio thing.
By memory he says 'it's not about the money, it's about giving something back to the city'
He is a card!

They did alright I reckon.
Gray's last three games in charge produced two losses and a draw whilst B + T managed a win, a draw and a loss.
Not forgetting - Gray is a managerial genius and had Ferguson playing too.

Re: Tommy Wright with Alan White as assistant
White wasn't a major figure at Spenny so it's not the end of the world to them. Not at all. White's been given a chance to step up his job prospects by quite a degree, surely Spennymoor wouldn't want to stand in his way. I didn't mind Ferguson leaving TBH. He got the chance to be a Pro player again...

Re: Tommy Wright with Alan White as assistant
I think the fall-out at nuneaton is due to the way wright handled his departure while the spenny backlash is because of the lack of contact from our club to groves. York sacking their manager after their cup loss has created a domino effect which now Nuneaton and Spennymoor have been brought into -...

Joking aside, A.W. would probably make a good manager.
As a player he gave it his all (sometimes too much ) but off the field he seemed polite and courteous. He's also been in football as a Pro for ages, which equals lots of experience.

Re: New manager poll
Hardy would be the obvious name. Technically Whitby isn't in the NE, but I think most people do count the NE as stretching into Yorkshire. It's either Hardy or someone from the Northern League - no idea who's good in that league, and who simply has money. Won't be Ainsley or Picton/Fenton, won't be...
