No broken bones and we’re hopeful that he’ll be available for Farsley - good news.

Re: BM - Surface
Have to say I missed the Motherwell game, so yesterday was my first chance to see the pitch. But after all the gloom and despondency in this thread I was expecting the pitch to look far worse yesterday. I know it's not perfect but it didn't look a mile off being ok and it didn't stop both sides pla...

Re: Halifax Friendly Now at Blackwell Meadows
Other than a 5 minute spell in the first half when he gave the ball away very cheaply 2/3 times, one for the goal, I thought Bascombe had a decent match. Always looking for the ball and played some very good balls other than that 5 minute spell. It’s the first time I’ve seen us preseason and overal...

Re: Signings
If Trotman does leave, I’m confident he will be going for a fee. AA backed him at the forum. Quite naturally though, he is looking at local players - by that, Northumberland, Newcastle, Sunderland, County Durham, Teeside, maybe North Yorkshire but touch and go if this is “local” - is this not a big...

Re: Signings
Just shows how Tommy got his signings horribly wrong with his crazy contracts and could even mean not a single player who he signed will be here under AA.With the exception of Trotman and Nicholson who may be leaving through location issues, the others have fallen short. Sent from my moto g(6) play...

Re: Signings
Would assume we would want a fee for Trotman before we let him go with sell on clause. Apparently a really nice lad who has caught the eye playing for England C. Think AA has already brought someone in who can cover that position but would be nice to get some money. Yes agree, I'd be annoyed if we ...

Re: Jordan Nicholson released
Slightly worried by this. Technically one of our best players and our best, most consistent attacker last season. Whoever's coming in has shoes to fill. Well one player can fill Nicholson’s left boot. AN.other can fill Nicholson’s right boot. Two for the price of one. Just the 12 contributed goals ...

Re: Jordan Nicholson released
With Wright gone Nicholson was always likely to want to play back down south. A talented player but very lightweight for this league. Wonder if he ends up at Stratford. A bit disappointed to see him leave as he was one positive signing that had a bit of end product and a consistent contributor to w...

Hopefully we bring in Hopson - good player at this level.

I wouldn’t say newspaper hype is Laing’s new employer confirming that he is now a Darlington player.don'tbuythesun wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2019 2:24 pmWhat was all that about Louis Laing signing? If Liddle is the first perhaps that was newspaper hype?

Re: Signings
How about some of the Gateshead players? White, Tinkler, Olley or Rigg would surely be good shouts.
Boyes I would highly doubt from Spennymoor, but he’s local. Maguire would be outstanding but I reckon he’s off to Shields.

Re: Signings
Gramps, I didn’t say Laing was a success at Hartlepool. Find me a quote where I have said that? Eh? Where did I say you did? My point was general, and about not judging things solely on Nick Loughlin’s Twitter. You said Laing wasn’t first choice at Blyth, therefore you’re guessing he won’t be first...

Is laing a centre back? And if so does this mean either ainge is going up front, ainge is out, or galbraith is going to left back? From his interview last week, I took it that Armstrong was going to at least try Ainge up front at some point in pre-season. Laing and Atkinson both play centre back I ...

Re: Signings
Surely they don't need another goalkeeper? They must have some players who will be sick of sitting in the stands as well? Well a quick look at their website suggests they have around 20 players, including two goalkeepers, four centre-halves and three strikers - with strong rumours they are in for f...

Is laing a centre back? And if so does this mean either ainge is going up front, ainge is out, or galbraith is going to left back? As per super_les’s comments, we may see players leaving too. With the two players AA has backed publicly, it’s easy to identify those who may go. Burn - poor last seaso...

Re: Signings
Spennymoor ‘share an interest’ in the players we’re looking at. I’m starting to genuinely think they do it out of spite, not as if they need a 7th centre back or a 4th striker More than likely Jameson, Buddle and Maguire if the rumours are anything to go by. They are really going for it - all the b...

Re: Signings
I do think with ainge that we didn't play to his strengths at all. We never got the ball crossed from the by line for him to meet, because we were trying to play a system unsuited to the wide players we had. I'd say it's not impossible for him to succeed, even if it seems pretty unlikely. Also, Lin...

I reckon David McGurk is interested, apparently he was at the game on Saturday. I've heard contrasting rumours regarding Holness and Nicholson. Suppose it depends who you listen to. I’d be pleased if Nicholson is on a 2 year deal. The same with Elliot. My only question would be that now TW has left, do they still want to be here? (Taking into consideration their travel etc, et...

Re: York V Darlington
Outworked today. As for the tactics, hit the ball into space relentlessly seemed to be the order. Of course we lacked any composure, and guess what, the minute York had their tails up and started to press we then started finding the man, only to be caught out as we don’t know what to do with it! Yor...
