Re: New signings?

As much as other clubs have bigger budgets, ours is still sizeable for the league and enough to be competitive in the playoffs. I’m prepared to give the new players time to settle and gel, albeit I concede that it isn’t looking promising, but these players have been recruited by AA and his team and ...

Re: Darlo v Bradford PA

Hooray, 0-1. Are we going down? We have a clear weakness in the team and the recruitment we have made, however, this is only our third game after an extremely disrupted pre-season. We have to give the players time to gel without further diminishing their confidence but I can understand why folk are...

Re: Reminder Fans Forum tonight

At our level, and with our budgetary constraints, we have to take gambles.

Maguire didn't pay off, but Nelson might well.

Fingers crosssed!

I understand the desire for two strikers, but if we are to play one up top this can be replicated with someone consistently breaking into the box from midfield, which is something we’ve lacked for a while.

Man of the Match during the game is chosen by the match sponsor. However, if you want to vote for your Man of the Match, there is a post-match poll on YourClub, which is open to everyone registered on YourClub (not just DFCSG members). The result is announced on Twitter and MM got the vote on Satur...

He has had an absolute nightmare. A big gamble to drop him in the starting line-up and it has not paid off, sadly.

Re: Donowa gone

I'm looking forward to the fight to become the number one centre forward. Any idea when this may start when are we going to see Maguire actually play? The good thing is we don't need to rush him into the team as we've got Charman and Campbell playing well. We/he can take the time needed to get comp...

How many players will Harrogate retain from their present squad as they will definitely want to improve the team.
They’re full time professionals. They will likely add a handful of players to the squad rather than overhaul as it isn’t necessary (Simon Weaver has said exactly this today).

Re: Who will follow Wigan Athletic into administration?

Looks to me like the chairman wants to get shot of the current squad because they cost too much in the current circumstances so they can start again with a more sustainable model. He's done a good job in getting the fans to point the finger at the players. Wigan-esque piss taking from Dover’s owner...

Re: Playoffs

At League Two level, it is arguably more important to access to a decent player market than a huge fan base. Harrogate can access players from across the North East and Yorkshire giving them plenty of options. As said above, Barrow will find that harder, but they will likely not be based in Barrow f...

If it is the seating which needs social distancing, then for an average gate of 1500 we would need a stadium that could seat 15000. Now can anyone think of somewhere that big yet still in the town? Purely rhetorical & no need to answer that one - George Reynolds was years ahead in his thinking. I'd...

Whilst it would be nice to keep progressing through the leagues, it's not the end of the world that we are at Blackwell for the time being. When all is considered, at least we have a club we have some sense of control over and we have a team that plays for the shirt rather than what they can get in...

Don’t know the bloke personally but I always had the impression Tait was a bit of a tosser. Would not want him back if he came back in thinking he was a big time Charlie. Certainly would not bring him in and make him captain above the likes of Hatfield and Liddle. The last thing we need is another ...

Personally would not want to see Joe Tait back at the club. Nothing against the lad but don't think he will add much, or be an improvement on what we already have at the club. You don't think he will be an improvement on what we have? Have you forgotten Farsley? Or how about Telford? I could go on....

Don’t be so daft Darlo pay good money out, styche 750, Ainge 750 plus Thompson Galbraith Wheatley 500. If you lot think players are on peanuts you’re even more deluded than I thought. Trotman has had his head turned towards becoming a Z list celebrity as opposed to anything else. Ultimately, he will probably make more from that than a standard career and semi-pro football, or even the lower reaches of professional football, so I can't blame him.

The money Thommo has been allegedly offered is staggering.

Despite being one of our top earners, a 50% pay rise, and a 5 figure signing on fee. We couldn’t possibly match this and he couldn’t possibly turn it down.
