Re: Tamworth V Darlington

It was a nothing game and then we gift them like that twice in 3 minutes. Add to that our zero threat up front and I’m afraid relegation looks a formality. Hazel and Curry offer nothing. Salkeld and Hatfield only ones to come out with any credit so far. Still not sure why Salkeld is playing left win...

IF this is true then the players wanting him back should have worked and tried harder since January as a mark of their loyalty

Re: Josh Gowling...

Pleased with this after airing my previous fears about Stockdale. He knows the league and is articulate when interviewed. Looking forward to Saturday much more than I was this morning. I’ve gone from kicking my shirt around the centre circle to doing a full-on Barry Fry run down the touch line all i...

If true then not excited at all. His record at Rochdale was terrible. Maybe he has something to prove etc etc but agree with the above. Maybe he delivered the sharpest power point.

Re: Darlington V Workington

That wasn’t Moke - that was Platt. I don’t think Liddle hides, he just lacks consistency/seems to lack the ability to press effectively sometimes. If you want to talk about hiding, watch Scunthorpe’s 4th goal back & Buxton’s 5th. I stand corrected re the pass having seen the video. Still think Lidd...

Re: Darlington V Workington

That`s one of our biggest problems too many balls going sideways or backwards from midfield need someone to either run forward or pass it forward. Thought our wingers did better tonight seemed to put more crosses in but same problem no one there to apply finishing touch.Thought we were going to blo...

Re: Bishops Stortford road closures

Liddle seems to hide in games. He doesn’t help defensively and doesn’t get forward to create any real threat. Agree re Hazel…maybe you’d not want him next to you in the trenches. I’d bench him for Salkeld who’s a big unit and looks to have the ability to flick on and hold the ball up. He’s certainly...

Re: Buxton v Darlo

Every other team we play seems to be well organised and difficult to beat. They also seem to be able to exploit our weaknesses. On a good day last season where we clicked, we looked like promotion contenders. Sadly there weren’t enough of those situations. Second observation is that players who look...

Ive not got a clue what national north players get but surely those at alot of clubs especially on 4-500 quid a week wont have 40 hour a week day jobs Don't imagine so. At NLN I think it's fair to suggest that the balance shifts from football as a bit of extra income to for some being the majority ...

Scarborough have signed Frank Mulhern today aswell. Saw him mentioned somewhere as a possible target for us. Buxton have picked up Jordan Burrow too following his release from Boston. Burrow absolutely bossed our defence down there this season. Can only hope Alun has another big fella lined up

https://darlingtonfc.co.uk/news/quakers-sign-tom-platt Great signing this! Played for Alfreton for a year. Go and walk your dog past Dale Southwell's house and ask his opinion on him. I said hello to Dayle this morning. We didn’t have time to chat but he’s a big unit up-close. I will move heaven an...

I’d take Dayle Southwell who’s just left Alfreton.

CF.
If you’re serious I’ll see if I can tap him up - he lives just down the road!! I did try to persuade him a bit back but he said it’s too far to travel for training etc

He is there. After the game we told him that we missed out by a point. His response was ‘the chairman of the supporters group will be pleased by that’ … more sulking. Holloway looked in charge today. We were good value today. We spoke to Felix’s mum at the end who said he loves the club and would st...

Re: Darlington v Curzon Ashton Tuesday April 18th2023

Selection-wise I would revert to a 433. Play Felix, Nelson and Hazel up top and bring in Liddle in front of Moke and Purver. Back 4 will depend on injuries etc but Newall has to play (either LB or even left midfield if the manager opts for 442. He’s great going forward and can actually cross a ball ...

Was there today. There’s something not right. Interesting that Sukar insisted his teammates come over to the fans at the end. He’s a leader and a captaincy candidate in my book. Also telling that Liddle came over and told fans he had made himself available yet AA opted not to include him in the squa...

I think one win might even be enough to get in the play-offs but I just can't see who we are going to beat. Moke and Purver offer nothing going forward,

Moke broke forward loads today and even mustered some shots on target

Re: New Striker

I work with a guy who plays for Cleethorpes. His words were ‘good luck.’ Worked hard and scored 14 in first half of season. Got himself a pay rise on the back of it and has then downed tools. They couldn’t wait to offload him! He’s not a big lad and is likely to get bullied by centre backs at our le...
