Re: Playoffs
Shame the Alty fans won't get to the final & now they can't even go round their mates to watch it! It's not just alty fans though I feel sorry for the fans that maybe can't watch their teams at Wembley after maybe dreaming a lifetime to get there i.e Wycombe Wanderers supporters. And not being able...

Surely the original bury football club are history now how can any league administrator trust Steve dale after the shabby way he has treated the gigg lane club and their supporters.

National league suggesting a 3rd October 2020 start for the national league. Suggesting there will be reduced capacity in grounds. Step 2 clubs will start that weekend with the FA cup 2nd Qualifying round which is where we enter the competition. Before moving to league games in the following week. ...

Re: Who will follow Wigan Athletic into administration?
Fair distinction. It is quite messy depending on what happens to the original club - if they do end up in the National League and the chairman remains at the helm it will almost certainly split the fan base. I think a similar thing happened at Northwich Victoria following their move from the iconic...

Re: Midweek home games
Does anybody remember the good old days at feethams when we used to play our midweek matches on a Monday night. I seem to remember us once beating Scunthorpe United 5-2 on a Monday and Lloyd Maitland playing a blinder on the right wing.

Re: Playoffs
I watched three of the four games (was flicking between the two lunchtime matches). Thought the intensity was OK. Definite signs of rustiness at times from players, which is to be expected after four months off. But actually the quality level wasn’t much different to what we’re used to. Certainly n...

Re: October
Whenever it does happen - and I don't believe it will happen by October - I'd say that home fans only is a sensible policy - it stops potential infections spreading around the country if an outbreak were tracked to a football game. Advance tickets only as well - and most likely you'd restrict fans ...

From DJ in a netcafe in 2019: https://darlingtonfc.co.uk/news/tonights-netcafe 'Bar sales – DFC retain 10% of bar sales revenue. Gross sales per game average circa £2k.' This stacks up - 10% of revenue so it's a greater percentage of profit once cost of sales are taken into account. If the Rugby Cl...

At last the football league have rejected the excuse from the Wigan athletic chairman and local labour MP Lisa nandy looks as though she has forced a full public enquiry. Let's all hope and pray for once an unscrupulous owner gets his fingers burned.

The heart breaking thing about these job losses is that they all have a knock on effect. whether you love or loathe the northern echo it is nice to have a local newspaper to be able to report on your club. Re: Who will follow Wigan Athletic into administration?
I reckon Hartlepool won't be too far from being in the mire. Macclesfield town probably a certainty to fall by the wayside. In our league I'll be surprised to see the likes of Alfreton town to continue if we can't get going again soon with their very small fan base.

Re: Increasingly unlikely playoffs
Would be a bonus if Boston Utd went up through the play-offs as it is like King's Lynn, a helluva way to go for an away game. Equally, Brackley would not be a great loss, although quite a few Darlo exiles in the South do make it to that fixture. Thought Chester were against play-offs due to the cos...

I wonder if the situation stays the same clubs will be banned from selling them along with the likes of 50/50 tickets due to the risk of contamination. I know it sounds harsh but if the league do impose a ban this would be another couple of our vital revenue streams lost.

Astra zenica are supposedly well on the way to developing a vaccine in Oxford university trials.
