Re: Online Tickets
Isn't it fairly standard to pay an extra fee when buying tickets online? If I was to go to a concert or the cinema and bought my ticket online, I'd be charged an admin fee that wouldn't be there if I bought it from the box office in person. I appreciate in an ideal world it wouldn't be there but it...

Re: Online Tickets
As I typed this Allan Quatermain posted. His benefits are all for the football club and none for the customer. There is no incentive for customers to pay extra unless its a potential sell out game But most people who frequent this board see a benefit to the football club as being a benefit to them ...

Re: Online Tickets
Unless there is a potential for a large crowd, would there be many people that would bother buying online and just pay on the gate? Making people pay extra to buy on line ( ie the 25p admin charge) is going to put people off unless a game is likely to be a sell out. I would suggest the club either ...

Re: Martin Gray award speech
A figure of £1m per annum would be easily reached. If you want full time players, you need to pay them a sufficiently high salary to encourage them to give up their "day jobs". Realistically, it is unlikely that the average player wages at the club would be less than £30k. With players, manager, coa...

Re: Martin Gray award speech
Are people reading too much into theses remarks. They were at an awards ceremony and were not a statement of policy I am sure what MG was doing was bigging up the club and how far it has come back towards regaining league status. I am sure it was said more to try to make potential sponsors see the c...

Re: Sod`s law
.... If as is now evident that if codes share the same pitch (not part of the early plan mooted by M.Jesper) then we need to be cautious on the shared cost. This could be a double edged sword as the requirements of a soccer team are more than those of a rugby team - eg want flatter pitch, shorter g...

Re: Club accounts
On page 10 of the Club accounts it shows we received £11,583 in "Transfer fees". Below this it shows we paid £24,000 in "Signing on" fees. Does this mean we paid out no transfer fees in that period, which would appear a bit odd in that the selling club received nothing but the players did? Having n...

Re: Club accounts
I suppose because Hardy never really established himself it can be seen as a waste, but Cartman and Armstrong did so 2/3 isn't bad. Of those we've paid fees for, there's been very few who haven't made a significant contribution to our progress on the pitch and like was said above, I guess some calc...

Re: The home of DFC
All the groundshares here in Essex/ East London have signs like this for tenant club as well as host clubs. Can sort of understand why the rugby club wouldn't want photos of their games in front of it but not that much... At the same time I thought signs of that sort could just be cable tied to the...

With regard to the sign that the club already have, its a Vanarama sponsored sign paid for by Vanarama as part of their deal with the league. I'm sure they wont be happy about a sign that every club is meant to display is gathering dust where it gives them no exposure at all. .... Is it a planning ...

There seems to be some talking at cross purposes here re insurance. If player has insurance, it will pay him out. If for example Portas had an insurance policy that paid him £1000 per week when injured, this would in no way benefit Darlington who would still be contractually bound to pay his wages,...

But thats the point, both clubs say we are a partnership, but its clear that largely speaking it isnt. I would be interested to know if we do get some revenue from food/drink purely because I've been told ever since we took back our club that every single pound counts, but it seems that it only cou...

Re: Stadium Blueprint with Waterpipe location
It's pointless deliberating over it as a point if the gain is minimal. That is ultimately what this discussion has been above. Some folk have said they must know what percentage of the beer and food sale are going to DFC, as it has a huge bearing on whether the football club have rushed into a deal...

Re: NUNEATON GAME
We should have just sent them 100 tickets - then there would be no argument. The trouble with saying 100-110 available on the day but get there early to avoid missing out - is that it will put some fans who believe they'll bring 100+ off travelling. I wouldn't fancy a 7 hour round trip to be turned...
