Re: Lewis Gibbons becomes signing number six
Good move from MG the lad is highly regarded and we may still bring in a recognised RB, Gibbons will be great cover for midfield etc a bit like Scott currently - Mr utility.
Of course he may be another one who gets bought from higher clubs so him on contract is fantastic.

Surely a commercial loan is an opportunity for the council and taxpayers to make some money from DFC, rather than 'giving the club money'? As has already been pointed out - there will be a knock on effect to the local economy through having the football club back in town and we'd pay interest on th...

Re: tactical formation for buxton
4-4-2 I would have thought, what I can't work out is how we fit Youhill/Thompson/Mitchell in the line up unless Mitch is RB, could go with 1 striker in Cartman until Armstrong is fully fit and play Thompson in Central AM role...... Glad I'm not the manager!

Re: Lewis Gibbons - the right back solution?
I suggested Watson or Weldon in at RB last season and was shot down in flames, I'm pretty sure Gibbons will be the choice as MG has ran out of time and surely he would have tried either of the LB's in the RB place in a match if this was on his mind. As an aside I will be very disappointed if Watson ...

Re: The Ashes
Agreed on those points, just great to see us regain the Ashes.
Hopefully Stokes & wood can develop more and be the mainstay with Broard for a few years.
The spinner is more concerning short term

Re: Lewis Gibbons - the right back solution?
I suppose short term options would be either Hunter or Mitchell with Youhill/Thompson on the wings and Burgess/White CB if Gibbons is not kept

Re: The Ashes
It's like if we beat the bottom side in our division 10-0, it doesn't automatically mean we are a great side. The aussies are clearly pants at the moment and would struggle to beat Darlington RA on their current form. I have never seen such contradictions in one thread in my life, Aus are good, Aus...

Re: Lewis Gibbons - the right back solution?
Yep echo the sentiments, a LB/RB pairing of Watson/Gibbons with Mitchell/Youhill/Thommo/Purewal as wingers is a fantastic prospect, speed & Skill to move the ball up the pitch on the floor very quickly to a waiting Cartman/Armstrong
Fingers crossed he's offered a contract and signs

Re: Bishop Auckland v Darlington
Bishops signed AJ and another player yesterday, but they didn't play. Their team included a chubby Bell, DFC kids Mitchell and Cocks and ex Darlo winger Nicholls. Looking the highlights they had a few chances, but the fluency and pace of Darlo was very impressive. AJ was signed last Autumn but was ...

Re: Bishop Auckland v Darlington
Decent game although some of Bishops players look woefully unfit and over weight, we bossed them all over the park, Turnbull/Portas look outstanding. Hunter was excellent & Thommo looked sharp. Anyhow Gibbons looks to be a good player and for me better than Staunch , Kneeshaw is a class player, very...

When I owned a pub & also did stock taking/accounting for pubs you had to be looking at a 45% GM to break even, not many pubs managed that, depending on the tie in on beer purchases (I.e. Franchised or free trade) it was a struggle to make decent margins on wet sales alone, any decent return was on ...
