Re: Darlington FC v Curzon Ashton
There is still a bit of scope to re-arrange our current squad. I'm wondering if Chris Hunter, will play a more prominent role perhaps as part of a back 5. He has a lot of pace which may help us against the counter-attack. I'd also add that I think defending extends far beyond the back 4 and there i...

Re: The home of DFC
I thought it was a decent crowd considering the circumstances - poor form, unappealing opposition, cold + wet, and at the time of year when some have very little spare cash. Had we been allowed to put our sign up yet? Sign mentioned at the AGM, no issue with rugby club, just need to sort out where ...

Re: Darlington FC v Curzon Ashton
We don`t seem to have the runners from midfield or anyone willing to take a man on and get crosses in for beck it all comes straight up the field for him to flick it on which is not working in this league Finally, someone has pointed out the problem! Before Portas got injured, he would provide this...

Doesn't take long for the fucking negativity to kick in does it? 4 games back in Darlo and a poor run of form over 10 games after 4 glorious seasons

Re: The home of DFC
1,750+ was about right today, and expected. If it was a Halifax, Harrogate, FCUM, Stockport or Kidderminster then we'd be looking at somewhere closer to 2,000. But given that Curzon Ashton brought about 50, it's January, and a lot are struggling through to pay-day, then I thought that the attendanc...

Re: Darlington FC v Curzon Ashton
The problem for me is that what we have seen today has been on show for a while now, since harrogate away I reckon. But there has been little effort to shore up the defence. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk I'm sure there's been plenty of effort, they've constantly worked on things in training,...

Re: Double for Hardy
I don't really think you could argue with his scoring in the first part of the season, it's just his all round game and workrate that is lacking. Hopefully we can get a few quid for him to offset Ferguson

Re: David Ferguson - New Signing
Wondered how long it would before he ended up here, one of the standout performers in the NL with FL experience and highly rated when he was here. Liddle took him to Sunderland. More of a left back than a centre back, decent set piece on him and gets his fair share of goals so not too dissimilar to ...

Re: Club accounts
I wouldn't mind at all paying extra... We aren't a Premier League club so I know it isn't lining the pockets of rich owners or an overpaid striker... even 2 or 3 quid extra would be fine by me although I suspect that may be too much of a hike for some and reduce our attendances, but whatever it tak...

Re: Club accounts
Operating cost is actually £105K-ish as you wouldn't count the payback of goodwill as operating costs The increased crowds from HP and now back at BM this season should cover that size of budget gap although it probably demonstrates that there's little room for increase in the playing budget beyond ...

Re: The home of DFC
It's give and take, if the RC don't want a sign up , then so be it. Fight battles which are worth it. A sign hardly warrants a big kerfuffle . So we 'give' up the sign. Tell us what battles are worth fighting then, and what exactly are the rugby club 'giving up'? Tell us what we should do then?

Re: Time wasting Goalkeepers
I don't know why the club doesn't come to an arrangement with Spraire Lads, All Stars, Middleton Rangers etc and say send one of your teams down. The kids get in free and an accompanying adult gets in half price. Just need one team per home game and it gets the young kids interested in watching Dar...

Remember we are sharing that facility on matchdays with the rugby club also it is not our exclusive facility which we people still don't seem to understand. A shared facility would of course, have no problem with signs saying it was the home of the football and rugby clubs. You don't seem to know w...

Re: Issues at the back
In my opinion, Our defence hasn't been the same since Alan White moved on. Not necessarily his presence on the pitch, but his involvement behind the scenes. The players haven't changed, so there have to other reasons. Quite simply they're playing against better players. There are so many ex league ...

Re: Hardy
Makes sense, he must be very short of match sharpness. It's a funny one with Hardy, his overall game is nowhere near Cartman but you couldn't really argue with his scoring record early in the season when he was starting. I think we all thought Cartman would score more but that hasn't proved to be th...

Re: Kids In Tin Shed
The difference with Darlington is that being an ex-league club many fans are used to segregation at every game. Until 2012 none of our fans had likely attended an unsegregated game unlike many clubs at this level who have been brought up with it. It was certainly strange for me during the first few ...

Re: Kids In Tin Shed
Unfortunately I don't think anyone has really found the answer. As you mention even in FL we had the same issues with police present and segregation. The right answer isn't that we just accept that it happens. Everywhere in the ground should be safe and appropriate for everyone but at the same time...

Re: Nuneaton Match Thread
Thought we played really well first half but 2nd was so scrappy and couldn't get going. The Browny incident wasn't even a foul and what happened with Becks yellow? Free kick that led to the penalty went the wrong way as well. Very very frustrating. Thought the changes we made disrupted our rhythm a...

Re: Nuneaton Match Thread
I'm all for being positive usually but that was inexcusable today. Reckless, immature and so stupid. You nick a scarcely deserved injury time equalizer, you take it. What on earth were we thinking piling bodies forward and leaving 2 men back to be done by a silly long ball? Ridiculous. That's my on...

Re: Stadium Blueprint with Waterpipe location
Given at Bishop we must have had at most 100 fans upstairs in Bishop when it was an open bar. If each buys 2 pints you are selling 200 pints of beer, if the beer costs £3 and assuming 50% of this is profit (taking into account all costs - no idea how accurate that is probably seems a bit generous) ...
