Re: DFCRG Statement 13th Jan

Surely all administrations are as a result of dire financial affairs so why are we any different to the others? As soon as the administrator was appointed all we were given was a matter of days before we were potentially liquidated? OK that's the easy option but with the home games we have coming up...

Re: DFCRG Statement 13th Jan

Also is the administrator really doing all in his power to keep the club going as long as possible? I'm hoping he hasn't resigned to us going into liquidation too premature as everything seems to be very hurried the way it's being handled. I've never known a club given such a short space of time to ...

Re: DFCRG Statement 13th Jan

:shifty: A tough one. The statement by the rescue group in this instance is very woolly and doesn't give much away at all. As much as I'm all for the trust using these funds for the benefit of rescuing the club in its current format, I can't see them handing over £50k before 10:30am on the back of t...

Re: Phoenix Club Name?

Hopefully it won't come to forming a new club but if it does, we need to be keeping everything as close to the current set up as we can. That includes club colours and the name. The 1883 and locomotive stuff sounds a bit amateurish. Just stick with say Darlington FC (2012) Ltd if it's possible, or i...

Re: Fleetwood match idea

If (and it's a big if) the game against Fleetwood is fortunate enough to go ahead, it'll be a great idea to play the game on the Sunday to boost the coffers and attract some of the fans who would otherwise be sat in their PJ's watching Jeff Stelling. Although just reading Peter Barron's tweet the ne...

Count me in, just let us know where funds need to be sent to. If we get more than we need maybe we could put some of the excess towards some new slippers for Ryan Bowman (going by Aaron Browns latest tweet) :D

Re: Darlington RA will help anyway it can

West Park would be a great spot. For starters I could walk to the ground, the White Heiffer do decent real ales, it is right off the motorway, plenty of parking around the industrial estate and the more vein amongst us can get a cut and blow dry prior to our local derby against Blyth Spartans from H...

Re: Raj, I hold you responsible, YES YOU..........

What gets me is all the crap he was feeding us with last year, saying we now had no debt, were financially viable etc etc. Then suddenly the beloved George Houghton (who we thought had finally severed ties with the club) doesn't meet a loan repayment and then whallop..no stadium, no land and no futu...

Re: Time to throw the towel in an start a New Business

I'm in agreement with Lucan, I'm just going to ride the wave whichever way it crashes. Although I'm far from loaded, I'd be happy to stump up £500 - £1000 to do my bit so to speak. If we could get say 1500 people to stump up say £500 on average each that would give us a fighting chance should the wo...

Re: New Club

The worrying thing this time around is any "potential" saviour will only be purchasing the loss making footballing side of the club, with no land to develope and no stadium. We need to somehow keep the club in it's current format, even if at worse we get relegated and have to beat the likes of Harro...

Re: Sooooo.....Where and how do we go from here?

Fuck the predictable ranting and raving about Singh. He's gone, he ran out of money, its over. Nothing we can do. Where does this place us now? Will the rescue group be able to hammer out a deal with the Administration team? Do we get dumped out of the league if we're not out of administration by t...

Re: Thats better.....

Today wasn't much better at all. Once again we hardly created a thing against a team second bottom. We played with no width, no flare and it was like watching paint dry. It's great to get the three points but let's not start getting carried away as we are still a long way from looking like a top 5 s...

Re: Hi People Crushers Rant.........

I can't get too excited about the York result as besides a 20 minute spell in the first half we looked very mediocre. York passed the ball with pace and width, something we have lacked since cooper came to the club. We've no flare whatsoever in this current squad and its little wonder we struggle to ...

Re: Optimism gone already?

Losing Rundle has been a big kick in the balls as without him we lack any zip going forward. Far too often Hatchy ends up playing out wide, with the end result being a pitching wedge style cross going into no mans land. It's not Hatchy or the forwards fault as the service to them has been poor and i...

A few of us on here have been shot down by the less intelligent amongst us by saying Moore should be playing, glad to see he's proving his critics wrong by creating and scoring goals. Re: Just got back

This current squad of players lacks pace. As a result we make hard work of creating attacks and the football on offer is frequently boring to watch. There's too much emphasis on long balls in from the full backs or set pieces to create our chance and I'd like to see Cooper have a plan B instead of s...

Re: Newport v Darlington Match Thread

Not convinced we are only one forward away from being a top side. We need another two forwards and two good wide men to at least give us another plan b. IMO in recent matches we haven't looked a great threat going forward and when that's the case it's not just down to one guy upfront. On a positive,...

Campbell and Hatch at the mo are the front 2 I'd stick with. Before his hand injury Campbell showed us he has what it takes to be a good forward at this level. Not only does he have a good shot on him him he can create goals, can beat a man and set up goals for others, something the other shower we ...

As soon as I saw the starting line up I knew we'd get nowt from this game. Still a bit of work to be done in the summer if we're to ...

£1.40's peanuts especially considering all the other costs involved. I'm sure last time i went to London I ended up paying a similar amount for a pee at Kings Cross. Darlo fans are used to having a good moan, myself included, but come on..it's £1.40 ffs, hardly a figure that's going to be the differ...

Bottom half of the blue square is probs Seniors level. He's semi decent in patches but if we're to push for a play off spot next season I'd get rid. He seems to have shrunk in size second half of the season, and just runs around without looking like scoring. Get shot of Wright if poss and keep the o...

As soon as we started with Hatch and Smith upfront together I knew we would huff and puff without creating. The 2 of them don't work together, either play one or the other alongside someone with a bit of pace to open up the opposition and add a bit of variety to our attacking options. If Cooper is g...

Although he's relatively crap, Modest gave us a much needed injection of pace and we played with a lot more purpose when he came on for the ineffective Senior.
If Cooper replaced Senior with Tommy we wouldn't have won today.
